- Hey friends! Today I want to update you on the mid year progress of my journey of whittling down my excessive candle collection, specifically my HomeWorx candle collection. I am wanting to move ALL of my candles into this closet by the end of 2024. HomeWorx candles take up the most square footage in terms of my personal collection and I really needed to scale back on buying this year so I could open up some space. I can then get back to buying new scents from HomeWorx! But now, within moderation. Gone are the days of multiple sets of 2 or trios lol. I really miss shopping at .shop and Q but I had to make the tough decision to really pull back so that I could dig into these backups. I am well on my way toward my goal and I cannot wait to get started on the Fall HomeWorx candles. How are you doing on your use it up journey? Please subscribe if you are new!

I’m in the process of moving and I had to box up all of my candles …..holy moly. I knew I was out of control but when you see it in boxes and boxes and boxes it puts it into focus:::: I need to enjoy what I have and use it up. And when I’m finished then I can start buying. And whatever scents that are there at the time I’m sure I’ll find some good ones. no more worrying about what will or won’t be available anymore. It just gets to be too much.

Omg Cranberry Pumpkin is fabulous!!! I miss that so much!
Seeing all those OG 3 wicks makes me feel all the feels, so sad the brand has turned into what it has. Another if it isn’t broke don’t fix it moment. Wish we could go back to those 3 wicks!

I tried to stop ordering new candles when you started to discuss your large stash and your goal to get down to using only one closest to store your candle stash.
Unfortunately, I kept seeing you discuss how wonderful the Farmstand candles were so I ordered a set...they arrived, I did my cold sniffs, then I promptly ordered a second set.
I did finally decide to stop ordering from Goose Creek as the sooting is terrible even with diligently trimming the wicks and reducing burn time.
I also just ordered 2 of the Vacation candles, "Vacation " and "Well-Tipped Pool Boy", arriving tomorrow.
So, I will now have 115 candles in my stash plus lots of Scentsy wax.
The addiction is real😂.

Hey Melanie, here to report that I'm making progress in burning two candles at once. I splurged at BBW with buying foaming hand soaps, 22 to be exact. Freebies were Pumpkin Swirl Cake and Blueberry Bundt Cake body wash and these soaps: Denim & Daisies, Marshmallow Pumpkin Latte, Pumpkin Pecan Waffles, Wildberry French Toast, Sunflower Meadows, Salted Amber & Vetiver, Gingham, Gingham Glow, Summer Rain, Triple Berry Cooler, Sun-Washed Citrus, Lavender Driftwood, Cranberry & Gala Apple, Pomegranate & Blackberry, Brown Sugar Toaster Treat, Leather & Brandy, Brambleberry Harvest, Basil Leaf & Apple, Pink Gumball, Champagne Apple & Honey, White Coconut Caramel, and Cherry Almond Shortbread. I would die to get Harvest Leaves, since you love that one so much, Blueberry Cheesecake and Cranberry Wreath are othesr to get. Sorry for my essay comments, always feel compelled to share the excitement of what I get with a few of you reviewers. Congrats on getting your collection down! I would buy a frozen yogurt to celebrate lol. So cool!
I actually got all my candles in one place from three about 1 week ago. 🎉 Truthfully, I didn’t even think about condensing until maybe a month ago when I was decorating for summer. I didn’t realize how close I was to being able to store them all together. It all kind of organically happened. I’ve bought maybe 20 candles in the last 3 years 😮I still very much enjoy burning them I just don’t like buying like I used to. I’m more interested in buying more of other brands and just picking them up when I’m already out and about instead of waiting for candle releases to drop. I was really sad this weekend when I noticed my Yankee Candle was closed, it felt like the end of a 2 decade era of going to a candle store to peruse 😢
Thanks so much for sharing your collection update. It’s so hard to get past the FOMO when the sales seem endless, but I started to freak out a bit when I looked around at all the candles I had purchased over the past few years. It honestly feels great to reclaim even a small amount of closet space. I’ve really pulled back on my candle purchases which I’m sure is making my mail carrier and UPS delivery person happy too 🤣. Now I just need to stay strong 💪 and get past Christmas in July!
Fomo can make it so hard. Don’t think I haven’t felt it. I’ve been grateful for the random PR for some newness but I’m excited to get this down so I can start buying the new scents I’m excited about ❤️
I have alot of candles too... i havent counted in awhile but im guessing around 200... what i have found helpful for me is i have a small shelf on my entertainment center that holds 16 candles....those are my up next candles.... as i use one i replace one from a couple of candle cartons i have under that shelf which are my next next up... those are cartons i keep one candle of a scent... any back ups i have of those scents i keep in cartons on top of the entertainment center or inside the cubbies... about once a month or every 2 months i replace candles in the next next up cartons. This helps me use up candles in a way that i kinda know what i have next up. Every once in awhile i pull all the candles out to see what i have left especially at the start of a new season so i know what i need to repurchase..
Its really easy to let things get out of hand but this system has helped me not feel so lost on what i have and where everything is.
You've made such great progress! I literally have 3 more Homeworx spring/summer candles and I will have finished them. Now for fall & winter, I have quite a cabinet to get through... I will definitely try my very best though.
Great job! It’s so satisfying to reduce the candle collection! My recent move made me appreciate that I worked at using overstocked candles. I have 1.5 crate of BBW, 3 crates of Kringle & 1.5 crate of Yankee (been trying to donate the Yankees to a collector who appreciates paraffin). They fit on one 5 shelf bookcase. Thanks for sharing! 🙌

I don’t have a big candle collection, but I’m on a “declutter” journey this summer with a lot of things/areas around my house. It feels so great to get rid of things and make space for better organization. 🙌🏻
Great job!! It will be so nice when you finally have the entire collection in one spot. It so easy to just open the door and shop!! I recently counted up mine and there are 73 HomeWorx and 43 BBW. Still a lot to work through but I am enjoying using them up. There are also random candles in the collection but they don't take up as much space! I can't wait to start on fall!!

Well you’re doing a great job making progress, I’m still going crazy buying more, I have them every where,in the trunk,in the kitchen cabinets,bathroom cabinets,hall closets,bedrooms,and my storage, I think I’m up to 275 it’s crazy, I need help 😳
