Xbox Live: First 1 vs 100 (US) Game • Widescreen HQ

- Rules of the Game:
"The One" has to answer questions using either the B,A, or X buttons. If he gets it right, any of the 100 "The Mob" that got it wrong are knocked out. If "The One" gets it wrong, the round ends. After "The One" knocks out a row of "The Mob", they get more Microsoft Points, and at that point can choose "The Mob" and keep going", or take "The Money" and leave with what the had earned up to that point.
When you join the game, you get pitted against up to 3 other players and answer the questions that "The One" and "The Mob" do. There are also players outside of your game doing the same. The top 3 players with the most points that round receive prizes that vary.

My Thoughts:
Even though I hadn't watched the show, I was a little skeptical going in to the game, and thought that it was just going to be a way for Microsoft to earn some easy $$$, but I actually had a lot of fun watching and participating, something I didn't know you could do until I actually played. The questions are things you have heard at least once in your life, and it's really just a test of memory. It's a pretty neat idea, and the 4-player free-for-all idea made sure that it wasn't 100% boring the whole game.
Also, I lol'd at "like you have a pair" and the Snuggie reference toward the end.
Man I miss playing this game on a Friday night with my good friends ... Those were great days!
I would literally floor it home from work just to play it on Fridays. Sad to say I'd rather stay home and drink and play this than go out haha

Xbox NEEDS to bring this back. Its crazy to think that this was over a decade ago. So many late nights spent playing this game in a massive party chat with a bunch of friends from school, good times.

I actually got picked and won being in the mob. There were only like 3 of us remaining as the winning question knocked almost everyone out. I won a download copy of A Kingdom of Kefling’s and got like $25 worth of Xbox points to use. It was kinda a trick question. Which member was not an original cast member of Saturday Night Live? Dan Aykroid, Bill Murray or Chevy Chase. I was gonna say Dan Aykroid, but I remember him and Chevy Chase were in that crappy Spies Like Us move so at the last second chose Bill Murray. Thank God I was right.

They didn’t give away cash. Winners got a specific downloadable game, plus Xbox points to get more downloadable games.
@@vidgameexpress Yeah I fuckin miss this shit! I was actually in the last 20 or so and managed to snag Portal: Still Alive with a share of XB points too (the former I gave to a friend as I already had The Orange Box at the time). Microsoft SERIOUSLY need to consider bringing this back especially looking at the current climate (both socially and financially) with a lot of people confined to their households and indoors pretty much all day.
It would go down an even bigger hit than before for sure and I would certainly play it on a daily basis or more as I did back on the 360 :0

the only things that made this the most interesting thing on xbox back in the day for me:
1) Once a week
2) Live showhost commentator
This should have been the start of so many gaming virtual tv game shows. Idiots in the industry didn't capitalize on it. The sad thing is that they can do it even easier nowadays, with always connected phones, tablets and consoles. If I had more time, I would develop a game series based on this.

It was so big for my friend circle. It was damn near as synonymous with xbox live as Halo 3 and toxic CoD players in your headset. I hope they bring it back

I don't think they would EVER do something like that again. Looking back.....it all seemed like a big "family" being on XBL, and now everything is so cold and greedy, there is no way developers/MS would do something like that for the players. Idk

We should get a petition going and, hopefully, Microsoft will create a newer version of 1 vs 100. The pandemic would have been the perfect time because so many people were stuck at home. They probably would have had a larger audience than the original did during its prime.

@Coxy_Wrecked actually 11 secs might be too long because a voice search could complete the question in less than that.
@Coxy_Wrecked it's not much of an advantage for speed (getting the highest score), but it is more of an advantage just playing as the mob or the one
