With advanced features like anti-ghosting, 20 key rollover, and textured WASD keys for comfort, this keyboard is loaded for bear.
Or boars... Whichever you prefer to farm for XP...
Also this is the updated version of this video that actually has the ending in it... Sorry about that last one, guys.
I love this keyboard. I use the wrist rest box to store my drugs in. 10/10
Still using this and still watching Linus. Love this Keyboard~!
Fucking shit this is old, wow they've come along way.
@J0n3eR4M a mechanical switch has a full spring and mechanical feedback underneath the keycap to prove a tactile feedback. A regular keyboard uses "rubber domes" which are just rubber membranes that do the same job as a spring, seperating the 2 contact points. A Mechanical keyboard will feel the same on every keystroke, take forever to wear out, and have a tactile feedback. A rubber dome is not consistent, wears out quickly, and has no feedback.
they've got this on sale 79.99 before 20$ rebate! got mine today and it's a huge step up from the membrane i've had for the past 6 years that came default with my computer
The CAT though
Oh god, I was waiting for this, I hope he's goona unbox the k90 as well, I'd like to buy one of these
I got this like 5 months back. It's my first mechanical keyboard (I used some Steelseries and Razer products before /NEVER AGAIN BUYING Razer, but that's a different story/). I used to play whatever I get my hands on! It's awesome for FPS (DOOOH) and it works wonders on League of Legends, DoTA, Mass Effect and so on. The only thing I don't really like about it is the fact it lacks backlit keys, but I can live with that. I'd recommend it to a friend. =)
@Nopiw This keyboard has 20-key rollover over USB.
@98kitt one is for the keyboard itself, the other is for the usb port on top of the keyboard
@gisforjesus it prevents from ghosting which means if you press like 2 keys together, sometimes a 3rd key that isn't pressed gets inputted in for some reason.
The key labels don't light up - dealbreaker. I always like to see what they keys are.
Just ordered one of these, can't wait!
Keep these videos coming Linus
Great vid, thanks, Linus!
Also, is your cat a Bengal?
The Azio Levetron Mech5 is water resistant, as well as mechanical. I'd recommend you check that out! :P The only problem is the stickiness, but I suppose you could wash it out easily enough.
Linus dropping things since 2011
there is the power for your keyboard and then there is a usb passthrough. the passthrough is basically a usb port but just on your computer
its just blue switches without the awesome clicky sound that i adore.
if you are a gamer red would be better because of its resposiveness
Of course not! I bought Logitech G710+ with BROWN switches, and i LOVE it!
Love the cat in this guys videos!
mine comes in the mail tomorrow!! i cant wait!
2019?
For anyone interested the K90 version of this keyboard is NOT beer resistant either. 2016 RON PAUL REVOLUTION!
Oh Linus, you started like the Bauer still goes - with a cat 😍❤️ Makes me thinking 🤔😜
Yes, They use the same mechanical keys
Wow audio is awful! lolYou've come along way Linus :)
@DrkAce16 Good to know, they originally did not ship to Canada.
2:26 The cat likes Linus' boxes...
When you spilled beer on it the liquid acted like a transistor and hit a-z. It's under the switches so you would only ruin it more by spilling more liquid on it.
"when you press two or three keyboards together" yeah, happens to me often.
neat to see mechanical keys
3:11 "Lets see how many keys i can press"
.........has 10 figures.
***** Get out.
@JEFFBOON123 I am using the Turtle Beach P11s and they are awesome. I would recommend them. They are actually cheaper than both headsets and work with the ps3 and pc. You should look at other headsets too.
Linus, is the final sales version a full mechanical keyboard or a "hybrid" keyboard. I read somewhere on the Corsair forums that the function keys were rubber domes and not keyswitches.
keyboard comes with the Noisy Keys we all remember from 1995 keyboards Slightly overused :D
I'm still using this in 2024 and bought it when it originally released. Still works just fine!
Nostalgia
I have an A4Tech X7 G600, which has everything the Corsair has, PLUS it's faster (8 ms delay), has a wrist leverage on the whole keyboard and it's waterproof.
And best of all - it costs only 10$.
So people, why would you spend 10 times as much on a "pro gaming branded" keyboard?
Should I buy I found on for 25 quid is it better than a Corsair K 55
Yea, I'd definitely look at those red key while I'm in middle of a firefight
@RalphCQ the most basic keyboards are the best
Wow looks like a nice keyboard, what other keyboards compare in terms of the format the keys come in (easy clean)?
So unnecessary. I have a $9 value keyboard from LITE-ON. I've had it for now 11 years. It's a regular PS/2 membrane keyboard and I use it 8-14 hours a day, every day. It still works perfectly.
Nice cat.. Is it included with the keyboard ? :3
Even you cat has chosen the Corsair Vengeance K60 over K90!!!
Wow, no back-light, that just killed it for me...
@TheDonerKebap I live in Sweden, and there are loads of stores here where you can try out the keyboards just by asking. But I feel bad for you if the stores in Belgium are that bad hehe.
the red keys....who stares at the keybord while gaming. NO CORAIR, NO! we only stare at the screen.
Make an Unboxing & First Look on the M90 and K90 instead!
i'm interested in what these mx red switches are like to type and game on. i know one thing: blues are TERRIBLE for gaming... dammit razer, what possessed you to make the black widow with blues? i'm never buying a keyboard again without typing on it first.
i hope the Stealth is what i'm looking for, or it's going on ebay as well XD
Hey Linus... i have a question about the keyboard.
Can you plug the cables into your monitor? I have a dell 27" ultrasharp monitor.. it has like a million slots on the back lol
This keyboard is a hybrid. It has membrane domes for F keys which make the feeling inconsistent for gamers who use regular keys and f keys.
BEWARE!
i watch every LTT video and hope the cat gets filmed :D
hope that corsair create their own motherboard
lol they just remade another k60
Anti ghosting means that your keyboard is not hunted by ghosts out of the box, pleas visit corsair website to get the latest drivers and your free ghost! :D :D
00:52, MEMORY!!!
I got my Majestouch 2 brown switches keyboard at my local mail service place now! :)
I do not own the product, and literally every reviewer skips that part, you gotta find out yourself
Funny for all the things that are bad/not a good thing, we see a steelseries keyboard lol.
@sdfasdfvccvvc It has silicone domes on the function keys and such. It's not like the extremely important keys. It might even be due to cost-cutting, it could be due to the fact that you don't want to easily press function keys. I personally don't have the keyboard myself, so if I am incorrect, then I apologize.
All your comments is about telling people that they are doing dumb things ''You did this? You know that sucks right? Can you be dumber?'' Let people be happy of their purchases. Black isn't the worst switch, when it comes down to mechanical switches, It's ALL down to personal preference.
Why not put Transparent, Glow-in-the-Dark plastic instead of laser etching? If you melt it right into the plastic, there is no way it can come off. It would be transparent so that you could still use a backlight to change the color.
@click4dylan2 I would wager the Kinesis Freestyle is the most comfy. If only it came in Cherry Reds, it would be a beautiful balance between meeting the needs of hardcore gamers and ergonomics.
@17arkrage honestly, i think you would be amazed at the new logitech kbds, i save hours by having all my passwords and WoW macros saved into my "G Keys" and i picked it up for about $40 (its a g110).
@PSOICA K60. Hands down.
@Nopiw Yep. I didn't do enough research. I just assumed that the usb plug would bottleneck PS2, but it must be the bus that is the problem.
Thanks. I'll be using PS2 from now on.
On the box, it says "Conçu pour les joueurs de haut niveau". Are you from Canada or is it imported from Canada ?
still use this, still love it !
1. get a cat
2. record unboxing video with the cat in it
3. ?
4. profit
The SSD's from Corsair are not really value for money. So that's one of the things that aren't that good from Corsair. The other products are amazing!
You're gonna get owned if you search for your numbers like this... xD *that's too far, oh no I didn't mean to press you, press 4 ah... silenced me :|*
Nothings better than mx red for FPS gaming.
wow those WASD keys look awesome, maybe its time i change from Logitech Ultra X :D
@xXM4xksaXx No, its not, that's a gaming keyboard, and sometimes you can press the windows key unintentionally, fucking with your game.
Well seeing as though this would be used at a desk, the lighting should be sufficient so that you don't really need backlighting.
Looks like the cat likes the keyboard.
You're right, we are done with the K60, no backlight, no purchase.
Maybe you should unplug it before trying to "fix" it with alcohol?
it would be awesome if this had a backlight
Fuck that I love my IBM model m and it's never leaving my desk.
@J0n3eR4M the feedback responsivness and noise
mechanical should have better feedback and responsivness but noisier
Pro gamer? I'm sure. Just because you do nothing but play games doesn't make you a professional. Getting paid to do it, making a living doing something makes you a professional.
On top of that, the example you used isn't even one someone would likely do in any instance in any type of game. I would understand if you said "Forward, Sprint, Strafe, Jump and Reload" These are all things I could see someone trying to do with one hand, but it's not necessary to hold down all the buttons at once.
Id agree to disagree.
blackwidow is clearly a better board, especially the stealth edition since it does not have the gloss finish.
The k60 and k90 pretty much suck, though blackwidow had its share fare of problems but I used mine for a year and it has served me quite well.
I currently have a TT meka
TT meka gunit
Steelseries 6gv2
KBT pure cherry mx red
Ozone strike.
For gaming I love the regular meka and that board has 16kro over usb and 2 2.0 usb hubs and is small too !
Well if you start spilling things on your electronic equipment of course it's going to break. That's why I refuse to eat or drink at my desk, for fear that I'm going to get crumbs in the keyboard and risk spilling liquid on my expensive electronic goods. It may have been an accident, but it's still your fault that you spilled beer on your keyboard. Telling others not to buy it because of a mistake you made does not mean it's a bad keyboard. It is in fact a very good keyboard!
Hey Linus, just curious as to whether the K90 comes with the same contoured/textured WASD and number keys, or if you know whether they can be ordered separately? I'd also love to see an unboxing/review on both the M90 and K90 from you. I've pre-purchased both of them from NCIX, and it would help with the wait! Not to mention you're pretty much the best reviewer out there, in this viewer's opinion at least. Bonus points for having cats!
So i shouldn't buy this because it isn't liquid proof??? not sure where you seen that is was liquid proof.
If this keyboard came in cherry blue switches with blue back lighting then i would have bought it awhile back.
like the inside of new games cases and books and fresh coffeeeeee....wait....where was i going with this again?
I'm an FPS gamer and I would definitely get this keyboard over the K90, which has unnecessary macro keys and I love the WASD special keys. But there is one problem: it's not backlit. What was Corsair thinking? If they had just implemented LED backlighting like in the K90, this would be my go to keyboard... Oh well...
@TheDonerKebap And I have never felt this keyboard but I could still tell that the material on the hand rest would be sweat inducing. How? Because I can tell from pics and videos what kind of material it is and make my own conclusions from experience. It's rubber which is sticky which means lots of friction when in contact with skin, friction means heat, heat means sweat.
@Constepatdyak The mx blue switches in the blackwidow are loud and you have to press the key all the way down for it to register and you have to wait for them to come all the way back up to press them again. I didn't like it so I traded the blackwidow for a logitech g110. Try the keyboard first before you buy it.
@HensaStralem Sounds like someone who hasn't use a mechanical keyboard before. Just because you can't afford/haven't tried a mechanical keyboard or Earphones/Headphones that cost more than 40 dollars, doesn't mean something is "placebo".
Stick to your rubber dome and iPhone earbuds.
No wait, you are going to say touchscreen phones are "placebo" as well, aren't you?
Oh boy, mechanical keyboards. What a scam. Anyone who pays a hundred odd dollars for a keyboard just because they "feel clicky-er" deserves to be parted with his money. Mechanical keyboards are the equivalent of those $1500 headphones that audiophiles think sound better than a $40 pair of Sennheisers. Nothing but PLACEBO.
The non-mechanical keys on the K60 and K90 are absolute garbage. Even my old cheap Dell keyboard didn't feel as spongy as the ones they used on these keyboards. As someone who is always using Del, Home, End, Esc, and Function Keys (for Battlefield), I couldn't keep this.
Bro Razer Blackwidow Ultimate Is A Cherry MX-Blue Mechanical Keyboard So Being Mechanical Its Louder Compared To Non-Mechanical Ones. But If You Want To Use A Bit Silent Mechanical Keyboards Then Cherry MX-Black Is The Way To Go.But Before Buying Any Keyboard Or Mice Find A Way To Test It.
@BrEnNo1023 I got the k60 a few weeks ago and the reds are awesome! It feels a lot like a dome switch in that it is not very clicky, but it takes much less force to activate the key, which is what I really wanted. It feels awesome, but I would try to play with one before you buy.
@Zanazuah I took a look on the web at the keyboard you suggested and I think that I just might get it. Any suggestions for a gaming mouse that would go nicely with it? I'm going to be building myself a new gaming PC soon so I'd like the external peripherals to be the right choices as well... Thanks.
Oh god, what have they done, it feels like I'm in the bloody 90's again... smaller keys, SMALLER, KEYS!
