Pinocchio: The Art of Animation
Вставка

- Guillermo del Toro's Pinocchio winning the Oscar for best-animated feature could be a tipping point in how animation is perceived in the Western world. Or it could be something that is quickly forgotten. Only time will tell but I wanted to take this opportunity to talk about something I thought was important to me.

The fact that people still question if animation is more than kids stuff, really shows they haven’t watched hardly any animation.
Facts
@@AFlyingWalrus would you like to review manga Witcher Ronin? It is by the same guy who wrote Cyberpunk Edgerunners
I firmly believe that the most creative people in entertainment right now work in animation.
I agree with you
If only the likes of Pinocchio, Puss in Boots 2, and Marcel the Shell with Shoes On got the kind of recognition that great works in live action media get outside of a specific category set aside for them. Don’t get me wrong, I’m happy all of these were nominated and definitely that Pinocchio won, but they deserve more recognition than just giving them an award for best in their medium.
It really is sad that they are only compared visually instead of the genre they are
@@AFlyingWalrus It's especially frustrating because, while it wasn't super common, there have been animated films that have received nominations for other categories - even for best picture. Not trying to bad mouth those choices, but this year's picks were worthy of more nominations.
Animation is not a genre. It's a medium that can be any genre.
Exactly
Animation…is life! Or the closest thing to capturing a glimpse of life from a world we’re only just figuring out how to explore, (with new mediums like VR!) but may never truly understand…
Dang man you made me cry. I love animated films and this just hit me right where I care most. Thank you
I'm glad I was able to move you
I hope you enjoy my small rant video
I most certainly did.
Sends chills in the halfway mark~ I view animation as medium for storytelling as well as opening childlike imagination while experiencing it.
Whenever I read literature, I imagine world coming to life, it’s always animated in various styles. ❤
I really liked the design of Pinocchio, and with the story with the dead kid
It was a good take on the story
Always great quality and solid takes, I appreciate the effort you put into your videos.
I appreciate that
You should check out czech animated movies "Fimfárum" how the movies look is just amazing! Its about classic Slovan Folclore kid stories
When this video ended I thought it was just the intro. 😳
Animation is cool, but my god your voice is so beautifull
why did you use the sad background music from Arcane when Silco died? 😭 it is making me having difficult time to hold back my tears and not to cry! 😭
They should have like a category of "best animation" for just the style and rendering and movement and innovation etc for animated movies. Sort of like best special effects or best sound effects, but let the animated movies be able to win best picture of the year.
I mean I know the Oscars are a joke for the most part, a white old men joke, but they could still do good and people still hold in high regard the nominated and winning movies I think.
amazing video.
Amazing.
Beautiful
Thank you
