Can a £300 drum kit sound good?

We bought the cheapest drum kit we could find from our dealers and using only the original parts we set it up to see how much £300 could get you.
Should we give away the drum kit or do some crazy experiments with it?

Guys, there are so many poor people playin trash can around the world, people who dream of havin a real drum even the cheapest kit and for them this drum kit would be a treasure, the happiness. So give it away dont destroy it.

yeah basicly any cheap drum kit can so great if you get good heads on it and tune in well. the only thing that holds them back is the cymbals
I had a different drum kit but with the same cymbals, and boi that ride/crash not just bad sound, but also hard to play with, like u cant hit that fast cuz it just doesnt vibrate its like hitting solid metal

Actually I don't think the cymbal sounds that bad, its just maybe the screwed it too tight on the stand that made it sound muffled.
When buying a complete kit on a budget with sound quality being the most important factor, at least 75% of your money should go to the cymbals and snare drum. Pretty much any toms and bass drums can sound decent with good heads and proper tuning, but a cheap snare is a different story. If you can afford it, it's worth ditching the snare a cheap kit comes with right away and getting a used mid range one from a reputable brand, same with cymbals.
You don't have to ditch the snare, Remo coated CS batters with a hazy Diplomat Reso head will turn a $30 snare drum into a drummers wet dream
The drums don't sound that bad, but the cymbals do.
Every element sounds ok but just the cymbal is trash🙂🙂
This should be given away instead of destroying it lol some people like me are suffering in financial specially for kits purposes so we used scrap kits like using big cans or any big containers in order to practice our motion when playing drums
Don't destroy it, donate it, give it to someone who really wants to play drums but don't have the capability of buying it 👍👍👍

plenty of drum kits on facebook market place ! some are £70
I'm actually searching where to find cheap drumset until I got here where people make fun of cheap drumset which is a sad part for me.
Nobody is gonna make fun of you for having a beginners kit if you're trying to learn. Or at least nobody who isn't an asshole.
Buy a used drum set for $250-$350 rather then new. Buy some cheap decent cymbals. You have a good drumset for under $500.

Long time ago you made this video. Stagg looks to sell some ok cymbals now. Maybe recreate the video using some of the new Stagg cymbals I keep seeing on Amazon.

I bought 300£ kit, then bought new Remo heads and Sabian symbals for 400£ (more than kit it self :D)... now i have my first chep, sounding normal, learning kit... :)
Next step, new pedal and hi-hat stand.. 😜

Solutions: change all the drumskin. Buy a new cymbal. Problems solved
I know I'm coming very late to the party but did it got destroyed? I wouldn't mind getting it now since I'm a beginner myself :)
At least they don't ring. The biggest pain in the butt with inexpensive (cheap) drum kits is trying to get rid of the ringing. I bought a Japanese GPS kit for $150.00, and the drums rang like crazy. I went through seven kinds of hell just to make the kit playable.

I got the same kit under the name of "Mendini".There aint a thing wrong with these cheap kits.Just put good heads on all the drums.Get good cymbals.And they are fine!

What drum heads would you recommend on the 2 toms
Evans G2 or any Evans coated heads are great. I sometimes use Remo Pinstripe Clear. For the resonance (side you dont hit) a Remo Ambassador is common.
See how good you can make it sound. Then give it away...

My cousin and I are both drummer so whenever we visit each other we play on our kits and battle the other day he got a new Mapex kit and he Sucks so bad at tuning I swear this kit sounds better than his

@@coyoteserranoband nah I'm not a pro at heads so I don't think I can suggest anything but I'll suggest you set a budget...go online and search heads within that budget and see reviews and stuff. You can also try tuning your stock heads if you haven't done so already. Good luck

Oh...and crank the snare heads up nice and tight.Tight heads on a snare will make a 30 dollar snare drum sound fantastic.Trust me.
