@SweetChick10101 I actually find the observatory really soothing, a place to sit, relax and stargaze when night comes, for me, it's pretty far from being creepy and unsettling, really like it's the only safe place in the game
@SweetChick10101 i think its meant to be like that since its where the bomber kids call home who are presumably without their parents seeing as they wander the streets all day and night.
i listen to this song on bad nights. takes me right back to being a kid in front of a shitty CRT television with the purple and blue lights shining in my eyes. life wasn’t perfect then either but it felt that way in the observatory.
sure, you only *need* to go there once, but as kids, when we had no idea where to go next and also much less experience with games and their constructed realities, we played them differently; exploring, adventuring, treating the game's world much more like a real world. Conversely, the sense of fear and trepidation was also that much more real. The Observatory is a truly unique place in Termina in every aspect, and the music adds to that otherworldly, safe yet mysterious feeling that drew me back there again and again as a kid, a haven of beautiful kaleidoscopic colour and soothing music in a world that created a sense of creepy, depressing foreboding that sticks with me even today. Also I spent way too long looking through the telescope trying to find secrets lol
I wanted to hear a piano cover of this song, and when I looked it up I never expected to find anything this perfect. Absolutely incredible. Thank you for this beautiful rendition.
wtf dude i've always dreamed there was a way of successfully arranging it for 2 hands but i never thought it could actually sound this faithful to the original. the chords merged with the arpeggios sounds amazing. for the love of god share the sheet for this man
I could listen to this song for the rest of my life and be happy. You have a gift! The first time I heard this song in Majora’s Mask, I cried because I thought it was so beautiful! You made the best video game song even better!!
this song always gave me an etheral kind of surreal vibe. i kind of tear up when i hear this song, maybe its cuz of the nostalgia and the moments associated with the time i used to hear this as a kid anyway wonderful rendition, thanks for sharing
Im speechles ... you gave me a part of my childhood back, i remembering chilling' in Zelda MM in this room(Astral observatory) for hours !! Just listening to this masterpiece, while playing in my kids room. thank you buddy !
This music gives me a unique feeling. Not sure how to describe it.. Nonetheless, I applaud your skills in covering the song and putting your own spin on it.
The request that did the user 'Silvereagledev' made this video and this cover the justice they needed. I came back to watch this video again because of how much I loved this cover, damn If this song is part of your childhood, then you had a wonderful time as a kid. I'm so happy to have lived this game.
I remember arriving at this place for the first time over 20 years ago and being so awed by the atmosphere there. I used to just stand around so I could listen to this music!
I was looking for a good piano cover and for the first and half minute I almost quit, 'cause, you know, lots of people play this song fast and with a lot of notes, but then at 1min40 something changed. A strange sensation. Like the one you have when ninjas cut onions under your eyes. I cried and laugh at the same time. Well done sir, that's the stuff.
Amazing performance, especially the smooth transition to the calm section at 1:19 and these amazing chords at 2:43 👏 Hope the piano sheets can be found somewhere!
Wow this was amazing! You are one talented dude! Huge reason why I loved Majora’s Mask was the music. Brings back lots of memories as a kid playing it 👌
Its only few songs in decades of gaming that made me put the controller down and space out... Astral Observatory MM Forest Temple OOT Lake Floria SS Hyrule Castle theme from BOTW There are more but these comes to my mind first.
By far my favorite of your arguments! I could just listen to this all day (in fact I have listened to this on repeat for several study sessions when I needed to focus, so thanks for that). This is my pick for that one song to listen to when you just need to unwind after a long day, or to just have in the background because it is just that good.
This song... made me feel like the observtory was the safest and most peaceful place in that sad world
@SweetChick10101 I actually find the observatory really soothing, a place to sit, relax and stargaze when night comes, for me, it's pretty far from being creepy and unsettling, really like it's the only safe place in the game

Funny enought that's where you do the 4th day glitch, making it so the world never ends, so you're right in a way
ikr
i listen to this song on bad nights. takes me right back to being a kid in front of a shitty CRT television with the purple and blue lights shining in my eyes.
life wasn’t perfect then either but it felt that way in the observatory.
Why did Koji Kondo go so hard for a song that you only hear once in a single game for a couple of minutes? That's a flex.
It sounds so simple at first, but then you realise that he’s using extremely specific chords which really show off his abilities as a composer.

Its because he know it’ll stick forever
you get the heart Piece from the deku merchant after you traded all the land papers tho
it flies out of clock town into a hole and you can ser it in the telescope
Closest cover to The original sounds legit!
Wtf? It’s way too fast
@@linkvigilante21 lolno
@@linkvigilante21 the original music is this fast
@@linkvigilante21 I have a feeling you listened to the one hotdiggedydemon played on his video which is edited to be slightly slower
I wanted to hear a piano cover of this song, and when I looked it up I never expected to find anything this perfect. Absolutely incredible. Thank you for this beautiful rendition.

I'm 4 years late but nice work man, I think that's the best cover I've heard of this song
How in the absolute hell does this not have hundreds of thousands of views yet
The algorithm is waiting for the perfect moment to showcase true talent to the masses. Fear not, it is only a matter of time.
It's quite an obscure piece in the grand scheme of Zelda music, but I think it's just special. It's so nostalgic for me this piece I really love it.
Right now while I'm posting this comment I'm in tears... this is so incredibly beautiful and nostalgic...
That’s what I was going for :) thanks for the lovely comment!
The music is truly nostalgic for the inner child in me
wtf dude i've always dreamed there was a way of successfully arranging it for 2 hands but i never thought it could actually sound this faithful to the original. the chords merged with the arpeggios sounds amazing. for the love of god share the sheet for this man
So beautiful. Good quality, no weird intro or outro. Just your talent all the way through the video so I can listen to it this over and over.
