Delicious! I am Lebanese/Syrian and I make it like this.. I sauté onion in olive oil and add some Aleppo red pepper and cumin..Add the rinsed lentils. Cook them about 20-25 minutes in chicken broth. On the side, I sauté some mashed garlic with fresh cilantro. Once the lentils are cooked, I purée them with a hand held blender. Then add the cilantro and garlic and I add some fresh kale! Cook for a few minutes until done! I use kale because it holds up in the soup! I squeeze some fresh lemon over This, and I fry some pita chips! Literally my favorite soup- I make this every other week! Love it! Great video!❣️
Turkish red lentil soup, or mercimek çorbası, is a new favorite of mine - it's velvety and creamy, despite containing absolutely no cream! Who's trying it?!
@@shainaeick7887 That is a great question! I love all our olive oils, but if you are looking for something to use everyday that will give you good flavor and a delicious finish with nearly any food, try our Arbequina EVOO: shop.themediterraneandish.com/products/arbequina-california-extra-virgin-olive-oil
I love that when people makes Turkish food and say where it is from mostly they would cook our food and name their own. I put, tomato paste, olive oil, butter and allepo paper together for the souse at the end.. cheers.
I took a cooking class in Turkey, lentil soup was garlic, red pepper paste, red lentils, bulgar and dried mint, squeeze of lemon. Simple and delicious.
Looks great! Will definitely try this recipe. I would recommend adding the spices after the vegetables have sautéed and before adding the tomato paste. Cooking the spices at this point for 2 minutes will help the spices bloom and release the oils to intensify the flavours.
Cant wait to make this soon for me i never had turkish red lentil soup before i need to try your recipe for this as i always buy the soup from my favourite turkish restaurant in Singapore perfect for raining days in Singapore and after office meals
This recipe looked so easy to prepare decided to try it. OMG! So delish! Creamy with no dairy! Such a fan. Keeping these ingredients in the pantry at all times! Thank you!

Very nice and simple recipe but video unnecessarily too long. I just love your short, to-the-point videos. I beg you not to lose your magic touch, and make me hit the fast forward too many time, please?
I'm no chef, but I'd just go right ahead with the green lentils. The result won't be 'authentic' and it won't have the sunny colour, but I'm sure it'll taste good. Just grab some red lentils before you make it again! All best
