I agree as well as personality. I worked as a professional apparel stylist and I definitely would consider the factors that you mention in your comment.
Check out Christopher Hopkins here on UA-cam. He actually does cut people's hair at his salon and gives you a very personalized haircut. I live in Oregon and I'm going to fly out to Minnesota for his haircut. I have salon phobia because I have yet to have ever had a stylist cut my hair correctly. I have a pear faced shape and thick hair. I always get a horrid mushroom cut. I feel your pain and I wish there was a lot more training before someone can call themselves a stylist.
That's sad, try to look at pictures on internet and take screenshots of the haircuts you like, ask the hairdresser if some of the haircuts fits the shape of your face‼️💎👍
Finally, later in life I came to recognize that due to my square chin, I had more of a square face rather than an oval and that I had to grow my bob past my chin, which I hadn't been doing. I started talking about my face shape with hair dressers and most just stared at me. I wonder why I never had a hairdresser mention my face shape when discussing a cut. Is this a failure of the school they attend, or do they not recognize how your face factors into your haircut/ style, or is it easier to just go along with whatever the client asks for?
I have never had a hairdresser ask what I wanted, they start out by I think we should or I’m going to. I stop them there and say until your living my daily life in my body, with my hair AND paying for the haircut you will be cutting the style I am paying to have. If I want suggestions I’ll ask. These new stylists are just a little too big for their britches. My Daughter dragged me to a stylist that was very popular. She’s naming off all these young entertainers as suggestions for styles, I pointed to my face and asked her if she couldn’t see I was clearly over 50 and that I needed something more appropriate, she said she only knew young and hip styles, I laughed and we left after getting a refund for the cut I didn’t get.
I have to say I got my hair cut with a hairdresser who had her own academy, I thought she would know best as I had the same issue as you with other hair dressers they just stare at me like what 😅 I thought the teacher at the academy would know, nope, guess they don't focus on that at all
I ve been an academy for a free haircut, gosh, they burned my hair totally with crazy hair dye and it took them like the whole day… then they told me to come back other day to have the damaged hair cut… I d never do this again unless they pay me to do it :(
I'm in the UK and have only once had a hairdresser who really seemed to understand that it wasn't all about them. He'd just finished a spell in France and got a job at the salon I was using. He was brilliant, asked what I wanted, suggested slight variations that would suit me better, and did a really good cut. He was someone I felt I could totally trust but, of course, he left after about a year and I couldn't find out where he'd gone. I've been growing my hair longer and was really happy with it but it needed a trim and the layers putting back in, so I went to my regular stylist and, for the first time, I was really unhappy with the cut. That was the end of May and I haven't been back, although I'm still unhappy with it. I've looked at other salons but the prices are three or four times, or more, what she charges and I'm reluctant to spend £100 or more with someone I don't know and risk being just as unhappy with the result. It's frustrating. I wish I could find someone here like Justin. I wouldn't mind paying the extra if it was someone I felt I could really trust, although I'd have to stretch the time between visits, but it's finding that person. Sigh. I've bought scissors. I figure if it's going to look a mess it might as well be a free mess!
First of all I want to complement you on your filming method. I absolutely love how you wander your environment. It’s so out of the box for this type of content and SO MUCH FUN!!! Brilliant! Second of all. Thank you for addressing that some of us, maybe a lot of us don’t easily fit into a specific face shape. I appreciate you teaching us how to work with that and its so helpful! Third, thank you for sharing your sweet babies with us. They are welcome anytime!!!
Thank you so much. This means a ton. I put a surprising amount of effort into trying to change things up and stand out a bit from the noise of online hair tutorials. Stoked to hear it’s coming through!!! Thank you!
So happy to have found your video’s, so informative, funny and fun to watch. I like the fact that you change scenery rather at your home filming or hiking in the woods. Your family is adorable!
Thank you! I appreciate that. I definitely could not imagine sitting in front of one place and just talking at a camera! LOL. So it’s always nice to hear that folks like you appreciate the change in scenery. Thank you so much for the support.
I'm new to your channel and I'm thoroughly enjoying them! You know why? It's because you explain everything clearly and it's not overwhelming! If this means anything, I'm saving your videos for reference. Also, you have a lovely home and Kevin & Benny are awesome! Hugs from Louisiana!!!
Great video, as usual. Very good advice on maintenance. It can make or break a new hairstyle! I’m 68, retired and the last thing I want to do is fuss with my hair! And your dogs!! Just precious!!
Thank you! And you’re absolutely correct maintenance in my opinion is one of the most under appreciated aspects of getting the right cut for your face and for your lifestyle. I really appreciate the support.
I feel like I am at a hair seminar today gathering all this amazing info..exciting!.So basically we use our hair to fill it all up to that perfect oval shape that can carry anyhairstyle. ...hair is our tool to make it all look better!..love this ..seeing this video of yours I realize how many of us walk around with wrong hairstyles...especially ladies with round and fuller faces and those bob hairstyles....not everyone suits those and still is such a common style especially after 50...we need more hairdressers to be offering styles that suits and support our face shapes better!...this was excellent pointers and I hope many ladies will get some tips for themselves... now I am motivated to go try some different style..oh how much I needed some motivation in these trying times...thank you!! PS..Kevin is gorgeous..lovely dogs!
Thank you so much! That feedback means a time to me. I really appreciate that support I’m so glad I could help you. And thank you so much, we definitely love dogs over here at this house.
This is very helpful, as are your other videos. Your best lighting was at your formal dining room table. At the kitchen table you were dark because the light was coming behind you.
Thanks for this.It makes me feel better about my hair and not drastically changing according to trends.I mean I've had the same style for ages but it works, it's suited to my face and is easy to maintain.BTW your house is lovely inside and out.Have a great day!
Thank you so much! I’m so glad this helped. I could not agree more, I always say pay more attention to what works for your face then to the trends. Doesn’t matter if the trend is cool if it looks terrible on you. I appreciate the support thank you.
Awesome! Thank you. Welcome to the family! I appreciate the feedback, I try to keep things as interesting as I can. Was there any tips specifically that you found most helpful?
Hi Justin, again so glad that I found your channel last week. I am learning so much and enjoying your personality as you give advice and wisdom from your years of experience. My daughter is thrilled too, because I am not bugging her about this. LOL!! Keep doing what you are doing, love your dogs and loving how awesome you are to them too!! Be well and much love and continued success to you and your family.
Really enjoy your videos. Not spending time styling my cut properly is my biggest downfall. Since going silver I have had to spend more time with makeup so I guess that will apply to my hair as well. Wish hair grew faster!
Thank you!!! Kevin is adorable btw! Great advice!! If you could do a makeover on someone with long hair that has a diamond face shape, that would be so nice. :)
Justin Hickox Yes, I have a heart shaped face and I’m always looking for hairstyles that work for me.... those that widen my face as opposed to long and narrow. You have been very helpful to me & I have learned so much. I watch all of your videos even if they don’t always apply to me because your presentation is so unique and never boring which keeps me hanging on for more! Thank you.
Thank you so much for that! I truly appreciate that feedback. I try hard to keep things interesting so it’s always super nice to hear it’s working! Thank you! Are you going to join me for my live broadcast on Thursday at noon PST?
I soooo remember the woman who would bring in these hair cut pictures, the girls were BEAUTIFUL,young (you get it)... then, there sat my lady ..🤔 Your personality is fabulous...a Man that talks... love that ❤ .
Well Justin all this time I thought I was oval face. But I am thinking I am rectangular. The before and after that you do are so beautiful. Just with the right cut. At 57 I struggle. I wish i could send you my face. Lol Thank you for you. I love your channel and your dogs. ❤️❤️
Thank you so much! I truly appreciate that support. If it’s ever something you really want to do, I do offer video consultations where I help people walk through options for their hair and answer questions specific to them. Just so you know that’s available.
I’m 52 and have an oval face shape. I love the pixie haircut and would like to see a video about pixies. I do not like hair in my face and need very minimal effort in styling. Would this work for me?
Great video, Justin... very informative!... the end of a mixture for face shape, and accentuating what you like about your face, really knocked it out of the park!!!... love the fur babies!!!.., they are SO darling!!!.., stay safe and healthy!!!... I didn’t think you were putting out a video today, because of Q &A on Thursday!... I got lucky today seeing your video pop up!!!!..💜💜💜💜💜
Thank you! I think that’s an overlooked topic for sure! People talk about face shapes but most people aren’t just one so what do THEY do! I believe success is built in consistency, so I’ll always have a Tuesday video unless I am totally incapable for some reason. :)
Very helpful but still tough to implement for a mixed face. I have a round/wide face with a square jaw. So no volume on sides and don’t layer at or above chin. But have soft pieces around mid face and volume on the top. I’ve concluded I need Justin to give me a haircut in person.
oh my god man, your dog is just AAARGHHHHHH !!! THE MOST BEAUTIFUL DREAM DOGGO!!! I SCREAMED when i saw him! SOOO THRILLED u included him in this. would actually prefer u to have him onscreen thru out the entire video! Couldnt u give us the examples of hairstyles by using various wigs on HIM?? PLEASEEEEEEEE????
Hahaha! Thank you! He’s a pretty special guy for sure! He actually has his own Instagram page as well as he’s featured much more in our new Adventure Travel Vlog channel. There’s a link in the description of my most recent video where you can find the Vlog channel (Dionna and Justin). You can also find Kevin (the pup) on Instagram @itskevintheberner.
Hey Justin, Thank you for this video. I had learnt and got a lot out of the best haircut for my face. Keep up with uploading more fabulous videos. Your awesome dude. Kevin, your dog is adorable.
Thank you! I appreciate your support. That’s a great question. It really depends on what length you want to see. Determine what length you want and then I would lariat according to the links. Meaning that once you figure out what length you were going to feel the most confident in adhering to create more movement and texture but not too much around the bottom so that you don’t end up sending your hair out too much. Does that make any sense?
Jane Huey I have the same question. I’m 51 and live on the lake. I work out 6 days a week, so I need a ponytail for working out and the boat. I have had a pixie or bob. With a pixie, I have to fix it everyday. With a bob, I can’t pull it up. It’s now in a layered shag, but fixing it takes forever because I have to curl it. Any suggestions?
Hey! If you like bob shapes, have you tried a longer bob shape with a bit more length in the front? So thing just off the shoulders (traps) and roughly to the collar bones in the front. Depending on how high your hairline is, you may still be able to get that back into a ponytail and it’ll still be low maintenance due to it being a bob shape. It’s also still great for fine hair since it’s lines are geometric and that creates the illusion of density. Does that make sense?
The two videos that were supposed to help feed the dogs were "invisible" (I hope the dogs aren't starving as a result 😉) Thanks for the great info! i have an obling face with long hair (but it's always "up". I'm trying to build up the courage to try a bob similar to the one you did in the recent competition...maybe just a tiny bit shorter. My hair has been long for most of my life because I've never really loved my hair short.....but then, I think none of my short hairstyles have helped create width at the chin. Maybe I need to try one more time?
Justin Hickox they are great dogs (with the exception of the shedding 😆). The two I have now are 3 years old. Rescued them when they were 1 1/2. I had one prior to these two, who lived to be 11 (also a rescue). How old is Kevin?
Thank you for this-it’s very informative! Can you do a similar video regarding what hair color looks best on different skin tones & which hair colors look best on all skin tones?😬 Oh, and Kevin is a heartbreaker.
Wow great video, you are so right about bangs with my face shape bangs work for me, ladies this man is a genius, thank you for all you do!! Great dogs!!

Thank you! I really appreciate all of that feedback and support. By any chance have you had a chance to check out the live video that I did today? I answered some of those questions.
Have a question: for an asymmetrical face with one side more oval and a smooth jawline, and the other side more round with a more pronounced jawline, what cut/style would be best? Also which would be the best side to part the hair/which side should have more volume? Thank you :)
Hi Justin. I just found you over the last week or so... I'm a stylist and always looking for CE and inspiration from like minded stylist. Also love your energy and your style of up to date real life images... keep on bouncing about. Stylist love changing up their vibe
Hi Justin, I am ready for a real cut again. But, I need a great hair stylist in the Richmond, VA. It's so discouraging to change hair stylists and I don't care to have the "in fashion cut". I just want a flattering cut. I also prefer that it not fall into my eyes when I tilt forward. Layers are fine, and have had them before. Suggestions? Willing to style my hair as I have had layered bangs that needed to be styled.
Fab video, as always. You're such a natural on camera 👍 lovely house and I can relate to your gorgeous dogs. We have a very needy black labrador 🤣 thank you Justin 🙏
Oh this is funny. You have the same two dogs that we have except that our Cavalier is the ruby color. Your dogs are beautiful and aren't they both just the best dogs ever!!??
I’ve had long hair forever, it’s also colored to cover the patchy grey coming in. I was a natural redhead with blue eyes. I just got my hair cut to a lit below chin length which was great. But my hair is kind of fine, so I had to use the hot rollers or put it in a crappy little ponytail. I have a rectangle face, good cheek bones and have been told good eyes,(whatever). I want to go short, kind of edgy, but I want to start letting the grey come in. I have an appointment with my stylist in March, for a cut and full highlights. I’m 67 and need a new look. I’d like to go white, but that is tough on the hair. Hopefully she will listen to my request. I would like to send you a picture of my long then chin length and my color.
Justin:. Great tips, as always. I've learned so much from your videos and can hardly wait to take my new found knowledge back to my hairdresser. (If she'll listen.). Enjoyed the dogs, too. Bet they're spoiled!
LMAO at your Berner. I have one too; in fact she is pushing my elbow up right now to pay attention to her. They are sweet dogs. Love your videos, please do a video that demonstrates coloring your hair as you transition to all white/ great. I was born a red head, changed to strawberry blonde. Now it is a darker blonde w/ white roots. Went with low lights for a while. Just not sure what to do...
Haha! I wish I could upload a photo. Last night our sweet Berner gave me a SOLID black eye! Lol! They’re lucky they’re so damn cute! Lol! I’ll definitely consider that topic for a future video. Thanks for the suggestion!!
@@justinhickox Totally get that. My Berner put her head under my chin, clocked me in the jar & chipped two of my teeth. But sweetest dogs on earth - just don’t know clumsy & hard headed they are
This Is something that i never find: i have a LONG FACE. I mean an oval face, but it is too skinny, so, what should I do to make it look wider???? Thank so much, your videos are great, I watch them from Argentina!
Great presentation! Interestingly, I spent some time yesterday with a friend who has a round face (far too). She has a chin length bob.... and while talking to her I was thinking there has to be a better style abs cut for her. Because of this podcast I realize that she needs long layers as opposed to blunt cut as well as some height on top! This is a great video, thank you!
Justin is one stylist who actually knows what he's talking about. You wouldn't believe the beauty experts on UA-cam who RECOMMEND a chin-length bob to "flatter" a fuller face. Or bangs cut straight across the forehead to detract from a large nose, etc. You have to sift through a lot of ineptitude to find a competent practitioner like Justin.
Great video Justin! Love your dog 🐾 & your house is beautiful! Honestly I couldn’t stop looking at your dog & had to rewind a bit so I could pay attention to what you were saying 😂 Always enjoy your videos
Justin, my husband told me when he came home we have an appointment tomorrow with our lawyer at 4:00EST.... I told him, that doesn’t work for me... I have to watch my Q & A with Justin Hickox... appointment cancelled!!!!!😂😂😂😂😂😂😂they should add 10 thousand subscribers just on that, alone!!!😉😉😉😉
Justin, what do you think about this...let me say also 1. I think your work is excellent 2. I have been a hairdresser since 1982...went to beauty school in high school...am 56.......OK...so what has been elusive to me personally in my hair journey...and believe me, multitudes of women...is that one cut that can truly be wash and wear...the reason I say this is... retain types of hair...my type of hair...truly...many of us.. no matter what is done it will still be somewhat fuzzy and do whatever....so for me personally...I’ve always need some length....now I’m in a long bob...profile pic is old....and I still end up wearing my hair braided or up in some way to truly look my best....I once heard one say that a woman looks a best with her hair up...and I believe there is a lot of truth in that...but of course we all still love to have it down....SO can you address what we can do ...or cuts that can truly look great and be wash and wear...we are not lazy about beauty....but our hair does it’s own thing anyway and we are exhausted with the fight. Personally I’m all virgin hair now as I truly think it looks most youthful and healthy for me. Sorry this is so long but would love to see a vid with thought on this eternal dilemma. In any case thanks for your content 😃🙏🏼
First off...thank you so much! I truly appreciate that and I always love seeing other stylists here! I ABSOLUTELY hear your dilemma! I agree 1000%. Id definitely like to tackle that in a video. In honesty, I don’t see it as being one universal style but more and handful of styles depending on hair texture. So maybe separating some specific hair textures and speaking to a wash and wear style specific to that texture. You’re obviously still going to have the random cases where this just won’t work because it’s such an individual situation, but I feel like there could be some general styles that could help a lot of people. Man....that’s a BIG topic, but I do like the challenge! :)
Ac Haley this was an awesome comment!... I would love to see that too!... I completely agree with everything you said!... looking forward to Justin tackling this topic!..stay safe and healthy!!!
What I would give for you to cut my hair!! I have really good hair, I want a style that is classic that will take me through the next 20 yrs. But one that is simple to style. I honestly don't know what my face shape is other than long. I have had long hair most of my life. My hair is to the small of my back now, no bangs and some grown out layers. I have dyed it with box dye for years but decided to let that grow out. My hair does seem to grow pretty quickly. I am almost 50, and have no clue what to do with my hair. This small town in Idaho has no one that really knows what to do either. I have been watching to see if I could figure out what I should do, I think I need someone to decide for me..I am game for whatever will look nice. Most people here know who I am based on my hair and the bright red i have always colored it with. My husband however loves the grey...I'm not so impressed 😒...Help!!
Hey! Thanks for the feedback. The great thing is, you have SO many options. I would start by looking at different haircuts. Find things you like (even if it’s just the bangs on one cut or the length etc) and things you don’t like. Then a solid stylist should be able to take those photos and help you determine what would work best for you and your hair etc. I also do video consultations where I help people figure that stuff out and answer their questions. That’s always an option as well. Here’s a link to register for one of you want to do that.... bit.ly/HairChat
@@justinhickox What about a 69-year-old oval face that now has a double chin and beginning jowls? I'm getting ready to donate hair and can't decide on a style. When I was younger and thinner I wore an angled bob stacked in the back.
Justin, this segment was a hoot seeing your babies! Very good info. and reinforcing that I'm just gonna have to tough it out because of a style I enjoy wearing!!!!! I'm much more of a night owl!!!:)
Thanks Justin. Great vid as always. Loved your pooches and the mini house n garden tour👍. Who knew there was a 'diamond's shaped face ???!!! Take care stay safe. ❤
Thank you! I appreciate that. Yeah, there’s all sorts of face shapes if you really look into it. But I’m trying to only stick with the normal ones. Is there any specific tip today that stood out to you?
@@justinhickox I watched your previous vids of face shapes and bangs and learned a lot from that to pass on to my sister. Which made an amazing difference to her . For which - thank you again. 👍 Luckily my hairdresser is great and suggested just as you did to have my hair length on the shoulder and some volume at the crown. (I have a round face) I usually wear it behind my ear on one side which works for me. For those people who aren't very confident in talking to their hairdressers you make it clear and easy to know what is right and what we should ask for. Thank you for that. We are still in lockdown in ths UK, are salons open in US yet ?
That’s awesome! I’m so glad to hear that. I really appreciate the support and I’m really glad that I can be of help. We are just about to open back up here. Some other areas in the states are already open but my salon isn’t allowed to open until Friday. Speaking of the UK, my brother just moved from here to the UK in January. I need to give him a call and see how everything is going over there.
@@justinhickox Great news about your reopening soon ! ..... all those desperate women hammering on your doors wearing hats, caps, bands, scarves or even bags on their heads hiding their abandoned roots and tresses ! Lol👩🌾👩🏭👩🎨👩✈️👩🚒🕵️♀️👷♀️🧕🤶 - I know..... I AM that woman !🤯😱😩 My hairdresser DARED me to use a box colour from day 1!!! 😠 😁 Hope your brother is safe and well. The current government and police chiefs here couldn't make a sensible decision if their lives depended on it ! Keep cheering us up Justin, we need your cheery face and bubbly character 👌
Dang, Kevin and Benny are just too cute & Kevin is a scene stealer & camera hog! Your moving around your house, and sharing your garden with us was a wonderful, personalized touch. I've been growing my hair a bit since: 1) due to quarantine and salons in NYC are still closed (glad you're able to reopen!) and 2) I've got a double (triple) chin. Since my hair is now 2+ inches past my neckline, I'm battling the 1960's Breck Girl" flip (it's flipping out rather than under). I'm all for retro, and while I'm pretty good at round brush blow drying, that's why I was curious as to your thoughts re: all in one dryer/brushes. Hug the pooches and have a glass of wine for me, even though it's not Wineday yet!
Is there anything you recommend for someone w small hooded eyes and a thicker bulbous nose? (Id liken my nose to seem slimmer and my eyes not so hooded). I have an oval face and super straight hair) thank you!!!
I’m a few different face shapes....it changes with my mood lol...now what do I do Justin....what’s that you say?...just watch Justin vids all day so I’m perpetually smiling...oh all right! ✌️all jokes aside this was a very good and helpful video, as always...thank you😻
It’s taken me a while to get money 💰 together to get me hair done lol 😂 Watch out dingy ppl here I come knowing what I’m doing because of this wonderful young man. Lol 😂
Can you do a video for minimal but still some effort to look like there is a nice style. When I do sports activities my fine hair which is slightly below my chin does not hold its style. I don’t personally like short haircuts for me. A bob can look very boring on me and looks flat very quickly on top after any kind of workout. I think a lob is feminine and is what I try to have with some layering.
Hey! I left a comment on one of your past videos because I found it helpful, and I'm here again to ask another question. So I'm interested in a short hairstyle, like above the shoulder length, my face is very asymmetrical though, one(left) cheek is visibly bigger than the other. If possible, is there a specific short haircut I could ask to make it look good but at the same time hide a bit of the facial asymmetry?
That’s a fantastic question. One that I can honestly say I’ve never been asked before. There isn’t one style in particular that would do that, it’s more what you do in any style. If that makes sense. I would explain your concern to the stylist let them know how short you want to go and what you would like and then within the length that you choose do what’s necessary to accentuate the cheek on one side and take emphasis offered on the other to help balance them out. Does that make any sense?
You deserve this constantly rising numbers of subscribers, Justin! Please say hi to your beautiful wife and cuddle the dogs for me. Looking forward to all your upcoming videos❣️ Sending greetings from Germany, Sabine 😘
@@justinhickox I particularly love the end where you discuss mixed shapes. I have never heard anyone mention that, so I am always trying to squeeze myself (so to speak) into one shape, but I probably have elements of several.
Fantastic! I’m glad that helped. I think most people aren’t one specific face shape and you’re correct, I don’t hear people addressing that. Thanks for that feedback, it really helps!

Thank you!
Lily Gold what a great comment!... I totally agree with all you said!
Lily I concur completely.
Justin your effort doesn't't go unnoticed. Excellent content, creatively presented. 🎖
You hop around like a grasshopper!
Thank you so much Terry! That absolutely means something! It means a lot actually. I very much appreciate that support! Welcome to the fam!
Love Kevin & Benny! I'm learning what to ask for at the salon and what not to ask for at the salon. You explain things perfectly, thank you!
Justin good advice too much nature. Get to the point pls
Love your passion for Hair! Your videos always make me stop and think about how I am cutting and styling my hair!
Thank you Lori! That’s awesome to hear! Thanks for the support.
I feel like I am at a hair seminar today gathering all this amazing info..exciting!.So basically we use our hair to fill it all up to that perfect oval shape that can carry anyhairstyle. ...hair is our tool to make it all look better!..love this ..seeing this video of yours
I realize how many of us walk around with wrong hairstyles...especially ladies with round and fuller faces and those bob hairstyles....not everyone suits those and still is such a common style especially after 50...we need more hairdressers to be offering styles that suits and support our face shapes better!...this was excellent pointers and I hope many ladies will get some tips for themselves... now I am motivated to go try some different style..oh how much I needed some motivation in these trying times...thank you!! PS..Kevin is gorgeous..lovely dogs!
Thank you so much! That feedback means a time to me. I really appreciate that support I’m so glad I could help you. And thank you so much, we definitely love dogs over here at this house.
It is obvious to me you love your work. You are SO refreshing! Great videos! Love all of them. I wish you were around in my younger years.
Thank you so much! That means a lot to me. I appreciate that feedback.
Oh my I want a dog like Kevin, he is gorgeous
He’s a Bernese Mountain dog. It’s our first one, and they are the sweetest dogs. Super loving!
0:44 oval
1:31 round
4:26 oblong

Thanks
First time viewer and subscriber of your videos. I love the movement while you're explaining and teaching. It's something different and I love it.
Awesome!
Everyone deserves the best haircut for their face! Thanks, Justin! YTB (you’re the best)
Thank you I really appreciate that! You’re too kind.
I LOVE your unique & genuine approach to your channel.
Just the very best there is!
What fabulous cinematography! Always excellent info. Thank you.
Thank you so much! I really appreciate that. I definitely enjoy the cinematography side of these videos.
Love that you and your dog love each other so much.
Hi Justin, your tips are invaluable and I always look forward to Tuesdays.
Loved meeting Kevin & Benny today❤️
Thank you Gloria I really appreciate that! I think they enjoyed meeting everyone too! Was there any tips that stood out for you today?
Justin Hickox
Yes, I have a heart shaped face and I’m always looking for hairstyles that work for me....
those that widen my face as opposed to long and narrow.
You have been very helpful to me & I have learned so much.
I watch all of your videos even if they don’t always apply to me because your presentation is so
unique and never boring which keeps me hanging on for more!
Thank you.
Thank you so much for that! I truly appreciate that feedback. I try hard to keep things interesting so it’s always super nice to hear it’s working! Thank you! Are you going to join me for my live broadcast on Thursday at noon PST?
I soooo remember the woman who would bring in these hair cut pictures, the girls were BEAUTIFUL,young (you get it)... then, there sat my lady
..🤔
Your personality is fabulous...a Man that talks... love that ❤
.
Haha! I hear ya. Thank you! I appreciate that a ton!
Thank you for posting your great videos. I love your dogs especially the big one who steals you the show ! ❤️
Just found you . I've been a stylist since 1985. Love your tips/ mistakes 😉👍. Absolutely love the nature views! Looks like my back yard 💚 take care !
Thank you so much! That’s a HUGE compliment!! Where are you located?
@@justinhickox Evart , Michigan ( 90 minutes North of Grand Rapids) no one ever knows where Evart is💁 lol.
@@debradennis206 haha! Can’t say I would have known either. BUT, I’m not that great at geometry! Lmao! 😉
Will you be joining me live on Thursday?
Justin Hickox of course!!!!!... always!!!!... I would not miss it!!!!💜💜💜💜💜
Very helpful but still tough to implement for a mixed face. I have a round/wide face with a square jaw. So no volume on sides and don’t layer at or above chin. But have soft pieces around mid face and volume on the top. I’ve concluded I need Justin to give me a haircut in person.
What about pear shape...narrow in the forehead, wider from cheek down?
oh my god man, your dog is just AAARGHHHHHH !!!
Your tutorial Always used to cut my daugh’s hair in this Pandemic’s situation. Thks Justin. God bless you always.
That’s awesome! I’m so glad that helped. Thank you for the feedback. How did she like the cut?
Justin Hickox , my pleasure Justin. I made a bang for her. She like it 😁 . Thanks again Justin, you’re talented 👍🏻
That’s awesome! Well done
Great tips but that gorgeous furbaby stole the show. ❤️❤️
LOL! I can’t argue there, they both kind of camera hogs :-)
Hey Justin, Thank you for this video. I had learnt and got a lot out of the best haircut for my face. Keep up with uploading more fabulous videos. Your awesome dude. Kevin, your dog is adorable.
Thank you! I appreciate that. And side note....Kevin got the big surgery today (neutering). Can't wait to see him when I get home from work.
The way you film is interesting, just walk around when the subject changes.....cool
Hi Justin, what do you suggest for an oval face shape, fine hair and low maintenance. Need volume in the crown. Your videos are always so informative.
Justin Hickox what hairstyle do you suggest shorter than a bob?
Justin Hickox It does. Thanks!
How about oblong (long) face shape with large straight nose. Any rules of thumb? Bangs with a bigger nose?
The two videos that were supposed to help feed the dogs were "invisible" (I hope the dogs aren't starving as a result 😉)
Thanks for the great info! i have an obling face with long hair (but it's always "up".
I have a Berner too (actually two) and they use their paws to get my attention, as well.
That’s awesome! Kevin is our very first burner and we love them. How old are your pups?
Justin Hickox they are great dogs (with the exception of the shedding 😆). The two I have now are 3 years old. Rescued them when they were 1 1/2. I had one prior to these two, who lived to be 11 (also a rescue). How old is Kevin?
Thank you for this-it’s very informative! Can you do a similar video regarding what hair color looks best on different skin tones & which hair colors look best on all skin tones?😬
Oh, and Kevin is a heartbreaker.
Thank you Renee! That’s a great idea and I’ll absolutely be making that video! And....I’m pretty fond of the furry little goofballs too! Lol!
Wow great video, you are so right about bangs with my face shape bangs work for me, ladies this man is a genius, thank you for all you do!! Great dogs!!
Haha! You’re WAY too nice! Thank you! Glad you agree with the bangs.
I love your channel . I love that you talk about things about hair that I have questions about .
Thank u again for those amazing videos and the way u explain and u put the effort and love in those video 😍😍🤍🤍
-Can you please tell us how to deal with frizzy hair for people who lives in a high humidity states like Texas?
-How to curl hair with hair rollers and still get unfrizzy volume at the top curls?
Thank you sooooo much ...You are such amazing, pure heart(giving all the tips and tricks) ,talented Hair Pro🤍
Thank you!!! Welcome to the family! I always love having stylists here. How long have you been behind the chair?
Justin, Kevin needs to be in all of your videos.
I think he agrees with you LOL he’s kind of a camera hog! You should check him out on Instagram, he has his own page. @itskevintheberner
Thank you so much! I truly appreciate all the support!
Hi Justin, another great video! Of COURSE we want to feed Kevin and Benny! 🥰
Thank you!!! They’re pretty sweet right!
OMG. A Berner….and a Cav!!😍😍😍 Excellent taste in doggies Justin!
Justin:. Great tips, as always. I've learned so much from your videos and can hardly wait to take my new found knowledge back to my hairdresser. (If she'll listen.). Enjoyed the dogs, too. Bet they're spoiled!
Thank you!!! I’m so glad I can help! I appreciate the support and your feedback! Means a lot!
I think you need to do one of these for women’s body shapes!
OMG LOVE the doggies. I’m new to channel and just getting started on some serious bing watching and note taking.
Great video Justin! Love your dog 🐾 & your house is beautiful! Honestly I couldn’t stop looking at your dog & had to rewind a bit so I could pay attention to what you were saying 😂 Always enjoy your videos
LOL! Thank you! I appreciate it, we think they’re pretty dang special too.
kevin made my day lol hes beautiful and loooooove his name
He's. special boy for sure!
You Rock!!! Thank you! Looking forward to seeing you!
@@justinhickox you are number 1 😃🙏🏼❤️
Ac Haley this was an awesome comment!... I would love to see that too!... I completely agree with everything you said!... looking forward to Justin tackling this topic!..stay safe and healthy!!!
Two things....1. You’re smashing it with your editing skills! and 2. Your dog’s name is Kevin...what more can i say!?! Thanks for the upload!
Awesome. Thank you for the feedback! I appreciate the support. I’m glad you like the videos and it’s always fun having the pups on them!

(I have a round face)
I usually wear it behind my ear on one side which works for me.
LOL! You’re probably spot on about that. That’s hilarious!
I’m enjoying your videos, ty! I am 56 and have a narrow face ( oval leaning towards long ) looking for narrow face suggestions:)
I just watched this video and commented on my double but really possibly triple chins. Can't wait to see Justins replies.
Loved seeing the doggos!
Always love your advice, thank you Justin.
Thank you! I’m stoked I can help!
I haven't figured out my face shape yet. I've already cut about 4" from my hair; considering going all the way to a short style to survive the summer.

I particularly love the end where you discuss mixed shapes.
