I do that also with the cheap taco single screw retention no other support screw holsters because those FOMI clips are pure garbage and should not be sold. Loops are the way to go for those type of mount high up on the front. Good job on the home made wedge I do the same thing but for the whole holster and I use yoga matts bought at walmart and cut them up.
Well done sir… I’m a fan of chopping on holsters as well to make them fit my body type a tad better.. been bouncing around some ideas on what to use for padding as well so may try the foam out 🤙🏼
Thank you much! Yes I’ve chopped up quite a few holsters haha a lot of companies haven’t figured out how to really make a holster comfortable with some basic stuff they could be doing in the design especially around the area I cut up!
@@maxhayward2127 I’ve noticed that. I get that it’s hard to do something everyone would like but I’m pretty sure comfort is at the top of literally everyone’s list haha, especially appendix rigs with full size pistols
I agree, a lot of holster companies I’ve tried including some higher end ones who have appendix specific holsters could improve upon some of these areas for sure. I will send them this! Thanks for stopping by!
@@DBR00 I’ve done that trick also, it worked pretty good and helped with comfort. I like the foam stuff I found in the scope boxes I had but I don’t know where to find it otherwise. Yes keep me updated! Thanks again.
If you had do modify them to make them confortable and wearable, then why you say about them that are "fantastic"? They're not. If they were, you didn't need to modify them.
They are fantastic holsters especially for the money. They have great fitment and finish. I modified them for “appendix” carry which they are not specifically meant for. They are meant more for 4 o’clock or 3 o’clock carry which they work great for but they weren’t designed necessarily for appendix carry. It’s just something I like to do to make my holster even more comfortable.
Just got my first wing and it helps with concealment a lot but you do feel the gun more as it pushes the grip into your abdomen. I’m getting used to it
Great video and demonstration.
Thank you very much!
Nice video. Looks like this would work similar to the Wedge used in Tier 1 Concealed holsters.
Thank you! Yes it would work similar, I prefer the larger surface area of this kind of pad vs the tier 1 version!
I use a Dr Scholl's heel insert with Velcro and have Velcro on my car, bed and nightstand and it works pretty well for me.

Thanks for watching! That would be an awesome idea also using the yoga mats, I’ll have to keep it in mind for some of my other holsters!
Sweet thanks.
Hope it helped a little! Thanks

That does it. I am getting a Dremel. Great hack btw. Thanks!
Haha dremel tools are awesome for so many tasks. Thanks for watching!
Concealment express has the claw that does the same thing
Yes but I’ve actually tried and then taken off the claw as it adds bulk to the side of the holster and digs into my thigh
Claw cants to push in grip. Different concept. And some don’t like claw.
All of this is great, but maybe just looking at the phlster holster classic would have resolved the issue. I use it and its great.
Those look really nice! This is more for people who may have a holster like the one I bought and may want to make it more comfortable. Thanks!
looks like the company has room for improvement be sure send them a link to this video

@@maxhayward2127 why not just sell your own holster, you already came up with the design
@@MilspecPanda maybe some day, they aren’t easy to make without all the proper equipment. But maybe someday I’ll jump on it! Thanks for watching!
@Max Hayward
What size hook and loop did you use, and where did you get it?
Hello! I used the heavy duty Velcro that Walmart sells. It’s the one that says industrial strength and holds 10 lbs. thanks
Hey brother. Are you making these ? Would love to buy one from you.
I do not make any holsters but I have had it in my mind! I appreciate it though!
Great video. I have all the top $ holsters but I always end up using the simple ones like this one.
I have always used the slightly cheaper ones and then I don’t feel bad chopping them up to fit me haha thanks for watching!
Nice little video my friend. ~Happy Shooting~
Thank you very much!
I actually bought some insoles and will work on my holster this weekend. I’ll let you know how it turns out.

You need a claw or modwing...

Put a claw on it!!! How did you skip that step🤦♂️
Claws dig into my leg and are quite uncomfortable lol step wasn’t skipped.. the Idea is tips to make it more comfortable not less..
I appendix carry without a holster! Yep, with one up top
You’re crazy haha! You’re gonna blow something off!
@@maxhayward2127 not true bro
@@GodGunsGills what happens if something catches the trigger?! Man that would make me so nervous! Lol
@@maxhayward2127 nothing will ever catch the trigger
Just buy a Tulster Holster. Then it’s perfect and you don’t have to change anything. Lol
Is the plastic wedge as comfortable as using a foam wedge? Thanks for watching!
