    Great video! But if I may offer a suggestion? Could you maybe not use music and just have the video with the sounds of you working? I love hearing the clippers and background noise of a shop.

    • @TheLuvOfDogs
      @TheLuvOfDogs  Рік тому +9

      Thank you and I always take suggestions. Unfortunately I can’t use the complete shop noise because we play music in the background that I can get copy written for so I have to drown out that music with something or no sounds at all. If I put in background music I can leave a little shop noise in.

    I love the music it's relaxing. You did a beautiful job with a dog that appreciates what you did for him. We should never judge owners . Life happens circumstances of each person are different. The owner brought the dog in to get taken care of that is the most important thing. I bet that bath felt good to him. 15 years old what a senior . I think his is a tibby too. Love your videos.

    I was happy to see that the dog is a well behaved as he was. A lot of Pekes are not very nice. I think he is pure Peke, no offense but a poorly bred one. I can see where you think he looks like a Tibetan Spaniel (head), but they are bigger and do not carry as much coat as Pekingese. No matter, glad you took all the hair off the poor old fella--he will be more comfortable. I know you still are working Sweetie, but I am retired so I can be judgmental..I have said it ad nauseum, nothing has changed since I quit grooming, there are people who take good care of their dogs and those that do not, very few have legit reasons for dogs being in bad shape. Wish we had cordless clippers "back in the day"...Thank you for sharing and doing a great job.

    You did a good job,very calm and relaxed,so the dog felt very secure. I could feel your emotions and kindness, as well through the way you handeld the whole situation. I love people ,who love their job. And if there is interaction between living creatures, it´s even better. Especially if one part needs help or is in a bad situation. Being treated kindly under terrible circumstances is always making everything a little easier,softer and is a small relief before hand. Thank you so much. I really think your boss must be a nice one,to let you take your time and let your coworker get envolved as well. Wish you well, and the little doggy a few good years,without experiencencing such a bad situation again.

    Oh the cutest elderly gentleman dog. He was a wreck when he came into you and he is leaving as a well turned out aristocrat! You treated him so gently and went at his palace. He stayed calm and seemed to enjoy his spa day. I hope his owners make sure he has vet treatment. Hope his ears are OK. Thank you for sharing Buddy with us. I hope he comes back to you. In all honesty you would think... He is 15, he doesn't need to spend hours being groomed and the fact its dearer. Keeping up his regular groom would be so much easier on buddy, on the cost of his groom and easier on his groomer as hopefully he wouldn't develop all the infections he has I was amazed at him letting you cut his nails... I have had 6 German Shepherd Dogs and currently have my daughters puggle (pug x eagle) and they are fantastic tap dancers the minute you lift the nail clippers!!!! Thank you again.

If might want to suggest that the owner get him on a routine groom schedule like every 8 to 10 weeks. I wouldn't go past 10 weeks. Lets hope the owner also, takes him into the vet for a wellness check. How does his teeth look? Maybe a good cleaning by the vet and check that tooth that is protruding from the front lip area. He is adorable.

They need brushing daily and are usually good about it. One of mum's rescues was a big as him, and he was pekenese. You can tell he is itchy. He sometimes wants to scratch now he can. He's a sweetheart.

    I would think that dear old boy is a Pekingese . I have had Peke's for over 30 years.
    You did such a fabulous job on him and you were so caring of his age and probably stiff joints.
    I want to say that Anyone who gets a Long Haired Dog MUST be brushing that dog Every day!!
    If I miss one day my Peke will be matted and let that go for a few days and its worse and eventually this is the state a long haired dog can get into.
    So , before you pick a breed to buy - think about how much you want to look after the coat etc.
    Still..... it is wonderful that this man is 15 years old as Pekingese breeders are not breeding these days for health and breathing!!!
    If I lived near you - you would be my groomer !!!

      I agree so much with what you said. People should research the breeds they wanna get before committing to a dog because too many cases end up like that! Awww I would love to be your dogs groomer if the opportunity presented itself 🙏🏾❤️

    I understand life happens and some can’t afford grooming. I have a maltipoo that is a bear for his legs, but I try and work on them a little at a time. However, even if you can afford grooming, the least people can do is brush their dogs so all that shedding hair doesn’t get stuck in there.

    Good job. I’m currently teaching myself how to groom my doodle. Trying to find clippers and everyone recommends Andis. Do you think those would be good and what attachments would work best for a doodle? It’s $100 every time I go to the Groomer’s. You did a wonderful job but damn I hope the owner gets better at taking care of the puppies coat.

    • @TheLuvOfDogs
      @TheLuvOfDogs  Рік тому

      Andis is a good quality beginner clipper. If you want something that will last awhile, Andis is the way to go. I will say, they are heavy clippers though so they can cramp your hand a lot. Wahl is a pretty good brand too. The best clippers I’ve had this far and are very durable would be the Heininger opals. As far as the attachments, it depends on the length you’d like to keep your doodle.
      Thank you so much and I hope so as well.

    Are Pekingnese hair dogs? Does their hair keep growing? I know that if you cross some pekingnese with chihuahua will end up with a short coated dog. That is a lot of hair and probably some home grooming has taken place. He is old and needs the summer cut.

    • @TheLuvOfDogs

    Tibbies have longer legs and muzzles then pekes, and a little less coat, Pekes typically have more bowed legs & smooshy face, I'd call him a peke but by no means positrive :P
    Unfortunately, its fairly common for larger size with backyard breeders. Adorable little guy though regardless.

    If you must use music to avoid copyright strikes from UA-cam, could you at least rotate through several pieces of background songs? Listening to the same piece of music for 90+ minutes is too much. I watched with the sound turned off. Also, I think the dog is a Lhasa Apso, a breed from Tibet.

    That poor dog !! He gets a haircut once in about 3 years and the poor thing has everything wrong !! His private has an infection and it’s so bad that it has a bad odor. His dewclaw was imbedded in the bottom of his paw and was infected !! I’m older than dirt and can’t remember what else was wrong , I could of sworn there was another thing !! Oh, well as long as you know ! Lol
    You are always so gentle and caring when you are grooming the dogs !, Have a great day ! You should probably tell the people that the reason they shouldn’t worry about bringing their dog in if their hair is long and kind of out of control is because the longer you let your dogs hair get the more it pulls their scalp and then it’s pulling the dogs hair and starts hurting your dog ! That’s why your dog gets grouchy and doesn’t want to be bothered because he is in pain !!

    Bless this dog. Poor little guy. The owner should never let her dog get like that. You did a great job. Tell the owner to take the dog to a vet to treat his infection. Too bad you can't find out if the owner really did take the to a vet. In my opinion, the owner has neglected this poor dog. Have you ever reported an owner that has neglected their dog?

    Great job, only thing I think you used to much doggy perfume. I more than once felt that there was to much on my dog, if we can smell it strong just think how the dog can smell it. Overpowering to say the least. I always tell my groomers not to use it at all.
