"And the award for the best villain goes to Sarah Kerrigan".
Oh, she's just warming up, man.
indeed
Yea, when Lowko said that I said out loud, "Oh, you ain't seen nothing yet, Lowko."
Im just sad how they turned her into some patheticly written "savior" in starcraft 2 since she was a amazing villain.
Don't let Kerrigan's deception make you forget that Lowko made his Dragoons kill his Archon at 13:05
#Justlowkothings
#RIPArchon2017
dafuq did you notice that, it was a split second omg :D
Rip
VArsovski10 Lol I was watching and just saw all the Dragoons change their target
I've always found it funny that two High Templar, casters with no attack, fuse to make a powerful attacker. But two Dark Templar, powerful attackers, fuse to make a caster that can't attack.
Broke. N balance. All about game balance.
Nono, I mean, it's funny how 2 casters become an attacker, and 2 attackers become a caster. It's funny how the Templars and their Archon forms are the exact opposite of each other in that way.
Broke. N yes. They are for game balance. No one knows in reality what would happen cause no one sees them. But for game, if DA can also attack, everyone just amass a lot of mixed archons with maybe a bit zealots as buffer and kill/control everything.
Both are deadly in both phases. Psionic storm and Feedback are super deadly. And combined they are even worse: Maelstrom + storm 💀
Not to mention mind control is worse than losing a unit in a one shot. It is turned against you.
Hint for StarCraft: Use a dark archon and mind control a scv or drone and you will have another food supply for a different race in your hands
Artanis: Kerrigan has changed!
...
...
Ah nevermind
Actually he went silent after Kerrigan killed Aldaris. Probably was busy hitting the wall of his Scout ship with his noggin'
Do you ever wonder how much grief it would have saved everyone if Artanis & co talked with Aldaris before trying to kill him?
LMAO
They were talking to Aldaris on the platform and the truth almost came out UNTIL Kerrigan blew their popsicle stand.
Hey mr Vice Admiral, I've got a call for you from a particular black guy. Shall I pass him through? ;)
If you mind control a worker, you can duel race like in some missions. It's even possible in multiplayer, though maybe not too smart.
I know I love to do that
I saw a Protoss player make medics for his zealots once. Fucked me right up. Needless to say I lost that match in spectacular fashion.
@@moldytoasttv6113 best combo!
@@moldytoasttv6113 yeah zelotmedics are a real pain
I love doing that in every game that allows me to, from Command & Conquer to Heroes of Might and Magic.
Shame there are so few Strategy games that do it, what better reward of conquest than to have former enemies fight for you?
postman defiler: so, man, what doyou think about my service?
dark archon customer: very good! can i give you my feedback?
postman defiler: no thanks
I really liked Aldaris, so sad that he died just before revealing his true motivations :(
Yes, me too. Kerigan was a slave of the overmind and after that she bekame a bigger monster like before. Aldaris was usually loyal to Aiur and his real protoss family. One time he didnt trust Tasadar and Zeratul and he was wrong because of his prejudices. Then he lernt to investigate and dont to stay at his prejudices. Because of his lerning improvement he come behind the truth. Alone
15:30 Mr. Reaver, can you hit that guy?
"Unable to attack target." in the middle of the screen. Lowko is Lowko.
Lowko needs to remember that Reaver Scarabs are not really flying towards the target, more like *ROLLING*. Hey Lowko! When you want to shoot a scarab towards something, understand, that they need a way to get there. A ramp, a bridge, a hole in a wall.
and then they just derp out and explode somewhere random half the time
To be fair, that message is only displayed when the unit has no attack, as in the case of a scarabless reaver. Once he builds scarabs he clicks again and it just starts moving towards the platform, forever unable to shoot up, without an actual error message.
My favorite part was when he spent 3/4s of his combat time not even having his camera over the section where the combat was happening. Actually, that wasn't my favorite at all.
SC 2 Kerrigan is merely a shadow of SC real queen bithc of the universe
"...but right now, we have a friend to kill. May Adun forgive us."
What a badass line.
In hindsight, it's ironic that they introduce the mind controlling darchons in this mission.
It looks like they accidentally gave Aldaris Tassadar's portrait when you click on him in the Remaster. I think it works properly when you switch to the old graphics. I think I remember Aldaris being buildable in the Campaign Editor. Maybe they'll patch that.
Also quick tip that is easy to overlook - Mind Control not only costs a lot of energy, it also drains the Dark Archon's shields, leaving them quite vulnerable.
They used Tassadar's model and character renamed to Aldaris to put him in the level. They didn't bother changing the portrait, it still is wrong with the classic graphics.
Lowko likes Dark Archon... DOES NOT RESEARCH +50 energy for them ... #classic Lowko moment :D
My friend called me up for tech support on this mission: "Kerrigan won't stop hitting Aldaris, no damage done". Dude had god mode on
Power over whelming
You must construct additional cheat codes
Aah... those good ol' days when Kerrigan was truly evil.
Hey Lowko. In the last protoss mission you can use mind control on some drones and make extremely powerful and fun to use protoss + zerg army. This is not obligatory and kind of a long strategy, but I think this is something you would like to try.
#classic Lowko's from today episode:
1. Why on earth he don't research +50 energy for archons ... ?
2. If so powerful.. why don't make some more DA? Lots of High Tier enemies to stole!
3. 13:03 Targeting down his own Archon. lol
4. Reavers don't attack on different levels if there is no ramp. Message on middle of screen.
5. Not noticing DA lose shields when using Mind Control.
6. Big air army. No updates. damn.
Tip: Stole a VCE or Drone with Mind control, get two races capabilities and another 200 of supply!
Enjoying the videos, though #classiclowkos are driving me crazy! lol
two races i used this for one mission, zerg hydralisk for defend and protoss for income and air unit .
You noticed almost everything! Jesus.
They're SCVs in English mi chico
I went back to play this campaign and realized how easy it was. I remembered it being one of the tougher games I played, for some reason.
From this mission I had fallen in love with Kerrigan and her schemes. Totally vicious with endless resourcefullness and adaptiveness, manipulating everything and everyone into desperate alliances. Because of that I can't take SC2 campaign seriously with all that "dark influence" bullcrap. Possessed people dont act like that. Needless to say she is more cunning than all those Zurvans, Amons and stuff who dont have any other thought in their brains other than "essence" and "consume all". Ahh...SC1 Kerrigan. Forever in my heart :)
While I do not fall in love with cartoon characters, I admit that SC1 Kerrigan was way more smart and cunning compared to SC2. In SC2 the plot itself seems more childish and straightforward in general, and Kerrigan is shown like a kind soul who just wants to stop the world from being consumed by Amon. No cunning plans, no using allies for her own good, no betrayal, nothing. She's dumbed down quiet a bit in SC2. Hell, even Mengsk jr. is shown to be a straightforward good character, I had hoped at least he would turn out to be a traitor or something, but no. SC2 plot is for kids.
Sverr she's preety hot tho
Too bad BW plot full of lore holes and really strange twists. Because of that we can't just point a finger on it and say "Hey, 2017 blizzard, learn from the best!"
i think she's cool, but i'll never forgive that she killed fenix
like what? (pls don't hate me, i honestly just want examples)
7:27 you can mind control the kakaru.
14:29 if you mind control a shuttle/dropship/overlord that has units in it, you also get the transported units.
18:00 Mooooom, can i have an arbiter??! =D
Please mind control some kakarus for extra luck Lowko!
Aren't they Kakaaru?
I am genuinely enjoying these re-runs of the old StarCraft plot. I started with StarCraft II and I never knew any of this background story.
keep in mind mind control also depletes the dark archon's shield, and well, considering they are all shields, be careful with any retaliation damage on them
I love this one. Good vid Lowko! More!
One of my fav unit. DA!!!!
Lowko being Lowko, but this time he made it easy X)
Dark Archon's mind control is totally sick! I was playing against CPUs and I used my Dark Archons to take control of Zerg Drones and Terran SCVs to build Zerg and Terran bases
There was a multiplayer Dark Archon multiplayer map, that was release back in the day, but trying to find that map, is like trying to find a needle in a haystack.
You can use mind control in drones or SCVs to build their structures and units. You should try that Lowko, pretty cool.
Loved this mission! And all that comes with it ;P
the funny thing about mind control is that it can allow you to go above maximum supply.
also you can mind control SCV's and Drones and build their stuff too. And unless it was patched you also steal upgrades like armor and shields, for that specific unit at least.
also you can mind control critters (neutral animals on the map)
13:03 Targeting down your own Archon, oh Lowko :')
I like this game so much!
Sometimes I just miss the way Zealots sounded when I play SC2. Zealot attacks sound so cool in the first Starcraft.
RIP Aldaris, douchiest (Khalai) protoss to have ever lived.
Although to be fair, he had a point in this mission. But he still was a Protoss douchebag, which before the introduction of the Tal'darim, it was quite an archivement
lowko seems to have forgotten that vorazun also has dark archons with mind control in c2 co-op
mass dark archon is a viable strat depending on enemy army comp and ally early game management because you won't see mind control till about 4 minutes in
Nice nice, Keep up the fine work. Huge fan here:D
Shibbels.
Best villain award to Kerrigan? You've seen nothing yet, kind sir. That was just a side-mission for her. Can't wait for episode six, where she's center stage.
The quarantine brought me here. Wish Lowko built more dark archons!
In the stacraft 2 campaigns we have the hive mind cluster and the infestor (campaign) that have a complete mindcontrol
iirc if you MC a shuttle you get everything inside also
And the award for best video game villian goes too...
Arthas
Hey Lowko, Been watching a lot of your coop stuff lately, I was just wondering. Do you have a video going massing dark archon? I know you try silly gimmicks and I would love to see your reaction to how it plays out.
You can use mind control on critters to scout with and even SCVs and drones if you feel like playing multiple races at once. each group gets 200 supply too!
Turn up the dialogue volume. Poor Aldaris, really liked the character, and he was right, you will see just how right he was before the campaign is done.
Scouts killing those carriers is just painful.
I like to rewatch the cutsecens just to see Lowkos face expression :) ;)
"make a bunch" :D killed me
Realising I am so late to this playtrue, that a "not existing unit in Sc2" is now at least available in coop. Vorazun dark archons can be really fun when enemies play thors/BC, ultralist, or colosses/carriers. Not only stealing them but neutralising them in the fight is great. Sad it doesnt work on hybrids in sc2.
If you take control a shuttle that has unit inside the unit is also being controlled. Its really helpfull.
the mind control spell alone makes the protoss the most powerful side in the expansion. potentially. I always try to MC a drone from an opposing race
Please use mind control on a creature they make nice pets and scoots and also a drone or scv it will give you access to a full 200 army supply of that race. Love you bro keep the great vidz coming XD
After finding out the truth, I recommend watching that last dialoge again
Mind Control, my favorite dirty trick.
It's really fun to steal a worker unit. Just saying.
HEY LOWKO!!!
Just a FYI with Dark Archons if you mind control a Zerg Drone or a Terran SCV you will then be able to build that Races units!! GL HF
@LowkoTV, u can get extra unit if u mind control enemy transports that is carrying units
i thought that this is gonna be new mutation, but stil, you gave me an idea...
I wonder if at some point, we can also use DA in ranked game. SC2 ofc.
And as many people has pointed out, lowko forgets upgrading DA energy throughout the entire game.
Minor Clarification - Lowko, it is true that the Dark Archon is not available for competitive (multi-player) play... BUT, it is possible to gain Dark Archon's in the SC2 protoss campaign, through unit upgrades of the High Templar unit...
Not sure if anyone else has noticed this, but if you mind control a unit that has an upgrade that yours doesn’t eg. Zealot speed, it transfers that upgrade to your own unit, saving you the resources and time for the upgrade
Before watching the video, is Lowko going to notice DA's loose all of their shields when using MC?
having the same thought :) (back to watching)
*Spoiler* He didnt.
Yep. No surprise though :)
I bet he didnt know until reading this comment.
#JustLowkoThing
He doesn't say so, but i don't remember him losing DAs left and right so idk.
Dark archons were actually in the single player campaign of Starcraft 2: Legacy of the Void.
You can mind control the flying critters to scout by the way, super helpful.
In some cases... but it is better to use halucination on some strong and fast unit
RIP Grandpa Max
Also, Artanis could have shot down the overlord carrying Kerrigan, but maybe he was just too shocked to do anything. And hence, we got SC2
Getting the max energy boost for your DAs might have been worthwhile.
Well, Mind Control isn't like Neural Parasite from SC2 Multiplayer, but like Parasitic Domination from Heart of the Swarm campaign ♥
the story here always pissed me off.
why the hell couldn't aldaris just tell the other leaders what was kerrigan up to? why start a friggin revolt?? this is stupid!!
Yosef Yonin plot, but yeah, you are right man, why not? Would have made thing easier and less messier
Because everyone was off-planet and Aldaris was revolting against the manipulated forces which were still on Shakuras.
Voyeur Ahoy I didn't think of that. So by the time they got back, he found out the truth and the matriarch attacked him. At this point he thought the others were all in on it.
They're all on the same planet. They're space aliens who communicate telepathically. Why did all three of them need to be on the same platform before he could tell them about the conspiracy he'd discovered ugh
Fuchsia 'tude they are severed by the khala,
Ibused that to get a drone or suv lol. So much nostalgia.
its always the last aldaris you kill and not the one in the mid
Aldaris using Shadow Clone Jutsu.
For the following mission a challenge: use a Dark Archon to take over a drone and beat the level using a combined Zerg-Protoss force.
6:09 Lowko merged with the archon.
Ah aldaris, found out about kerrigan's mind domination too soon, #aldariswasright
the struggle
What be the the counter to dark archons? Mass marines? Splash damage. High tier units. Mind control.
what was that jumpcut on webcam on 25:16 about?
did you know that if you take control of a enemy unit wich has researched a technogical upgrade, you inmeddiatly get that upgrade, I mean for example, stealing one reaver on this mission you inmediatly get its max scarbas capacity
You may or may not know that if you mind control a worker (of another race), you can use it to build a base and get a 400-supply army. I would love to see you do this some time.
bobby bob True if you mind control Dron or SCV. Not Probe however
yup lol. ill change that.
I used to mind control the native flyers for scouting. They cost nothing and they fly which makes them useful.
I want to see a dark archon take over another dark archon
BW PvP: Two opposing dark archons mind control each other at the same time. Nothing happens, you just lost energy.
Just another game theory....
You lost your shields too, but if you have the energy upgrade hurry up and feedback them.
whats cooler is using mind control on zerg or terran
Ironically enough, Aldaris was 100% in the right. Farewell, Judicator!
lowko if you mind control a drone or svc from your opponent, you actually can build another race in a match ^^
I feel bad for Aldaris. He's constantly being told to shut up and even though he's renounced his old ways of thinking, the other characters give Kerrigan more of a chance for redemption than him. Of course he's going to see violence as the only way out. The quickest way to radicalize someone is to not give them a chance to come back into your society.
Well, at least you didn't kill as many of your own units in this one
Yo in Starcraft 1 we used to do 4v4 at school and I would take or mind control one worker from my teammates base and and it just made the enemy team so confused to quit.
I see they never fixed Aldaris’ portrait. It is still Tassadar. Seems like an Easter egg.
No matter which Aldaris you kill first by the way...you always have to kill all 3 of them as far as I can remember.
Why couldn't Aldaris tell in advance dark secret? It's like in films when things escalate just because someone can't speak some words.
3:34 no you dont. You get dark Archons by MELDING 2 dark Templar together
Also, Mind Control drains ALL of the Dark Archon's shields
You can mind control the Kakaru too is good for scouting
You could take control of the neutral critters too
25:13 "Insured"
So now Kerrigan is in the Insurance-business? Or did the writer mean "ensured"? Funny how that's survived all those patches and a remaster...
You should use more mind control in the next mission
You can also control the random critters on the map, fun fact ;)
Mind Control all the things! :D
I totally forgot that mind control drains the shield of the dark archon
I always loved mind controlling the wildlife to use as free scouts. Unfortunately the AI knows they are controlled and kill them if they get into range of a unit that can attack them.
