Their research is poor. They make one argument that fully rides on the idea that Revelation was written in AD 95 (that the Romans were winning, so John wrote a propaganda campaign), but then switch to an argument that only makes sense if Revelation were written in AD 65 (that 666 was a preconceived reference to Nero.) Nero died in AD 68. If it were written in AD 95, why would John make a prophecy about a guy who died 27 years prior? If it were written in AD 65, John had no such inspiration to propagandize Christians into keeping their faith, as they had not yet been pummeled by the Romans. This is just one way Grunge is mistaken. There is a lot of information out there and pragmatic arguments for the validity of the Bible! I’m sorry the Christians you’ve encountered have not been able to follow the simple logic that you cannot use the Bible to validate the Bible. That’s disappointing. You have to read between the line sometimes. The Book of Revelation is indeed a writing of condemnation of Rome. And a book of a hoped for redemption at the end. Hence the "New Jerusalem" at the end. The Beast from the Sea is the Roman Empire. The Beast from Land is likely an Emperor possibly Nero or Trajan(who was Emperor at the height of Roman rule). Satan is in red. The color of the Roman Legions. Even the description of "Great Babylon" is Rome itself. Rome was the master of the known western world at the time. That why Satan is called the "God" of this World. Meaning he is in control of Rome.

I don't believe in any of that. All religion s have different meanings of the bible. I just believe that all religion s are made up. You have the freedom to worship in whatever religion you choose. I choose none because man made up there own rules of the bible. I believe in god. When I went to church it was all about money and people of the church were more clicky. Many of the early church took the words of the disciples as “God’s word” because Jesus had chosen to use the disciples and Paul typically to carry out His work in redeeming man kind. The books we have that are written in the Bible are mainly written by those very disciples. As for what seems like “lousy numerology”, the book of Revelations is anything but just a metaphor and the numerology ties in very intimately with other passages of scripture such as that of Daniel and Zechariah. While Revelations is symbolic in how it describes certain events, that does not undermine it’s literal elements given context is considered in both the pre and post passage readings. Revelation is a scary and very literal list of events that must take place before the second coming of Jesus Christ. Jesus came to die and give ETERNAL LIFE for FREE to anyone who chooses to accept Him and forgiveness over sin. Best decision anyone can make.
Paul? You mean Saul of Tarsus? Never met Jesus, not once during the savior's lifetime. How could you say that the people who knew Jesus saw him particularly used by Christ to do anything? That dude only claimed to met Jesus once and that was after the crucifixion, resurrection and the ascension. There is absolutely no reason to think Paul had any idea what the Christ wanted except his own words claiming he had a vision. His ministry resembles the words of Christ not at all. At best he was a pretender who jumped on a bandwagon that was going somewhere. Many people claim he teaches a “false gospel” simply because he speaks very strongly on grace, however, this isn’t the case. No where is the epistles that Paul wrote even once contradicted the very reason Jesus came into the world, to save man from sin and redeem him unto God.

For those who believe in dreams or visions and the spirit world, I have something to share with you to think about. When I was in my late teens, I had a few vivid dreams that the spirits were so desperate to have or at least to experience the power of having a physical body. To the spirits, their dreams were to be able to be in a body someday even more so than the believers want to be in 'Heaven.' They were willing to trade their whole 'life' to have a physical body even just a for few seconds. They envied human beings and held human beings so high as their Gods.

I think we should look at this as ragnarok or other apocalypse stories from other cultures throughout the ages. The one common thing is they bear the apocalypse and the ending of civilizations. I mean look at history when all those cultures and empires collapsed. History repeats itself and that book warns of it.
The original Torah which was lost was the first true Word of God. The Quran is the final Word of God. The New Testament was literally the testimony of the people at that time of what they had witnessed happen in the life of Jesus (peace be upon him). The Ahadith is the Testimony by the Disciples/Sahaba and family of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) of how this Prophet lived according to the Teachings and Instructions given by Almighty God/Allah. Although there are minor contradictions in the Ahadith these do not affect the absolutely vital critieria regarding the crucial beliefs we are encouraged to believe and follow. Unfortunately as people are not perfect there are a lot of contradictions in the Gospels. But in both Islam and Christianity there is the belief that Jesus (peace be upon him) was taken to heaven alive. In Islam we do not believe that this Prophet knows when he will return to the earth but that he will. This is more or less what the Christian's also believe except that the outcome of his return has been prophesied differently in both belief systems. Even today with everything that is happening the return of Jesus (peace be upon him) is believed to be eminent. However throughout history the same thing has been believed many times by the general population. This belief was generally spurred on by some great difficulty experienced at the time such as plagues natural disasters or wars. While I myself am grateful that the city that I live in has not been hit by any of the natural disasters which presently are plaguing the planet I also have the attitude that whether the Messiah comes right now or not my duty is to adhere to the Laws of God/Allah as best I can and seek the Face of My Beloved Master and Owner Almighty God/Allah. My duty is to focus on being the best me that I can be and hopefully He Will Decide that I am Acceptable to Him and I will be able to live in His Presence forever. Sensationalistic imagination is not my wish and this mass hysteria irritates me because there are far more important things to focus on. My wish is to please my Owner and Master my Beloved Almighty God/Allah. The rest does not count. But I can assure you that the last place on earth I would like to live in is The Levant.

Who claim to know and see a ghost or god can speak and write, please prove it? Only in stories or myth that such things happened. That's why we still draw upon those books that were written thousands of years ago. Sure the 55th book in bible claimed all scriptures were inspired by God (Yahweh, the God of Israel) and so it was interpreted and believed that 'God' was the truth author who merely borrowed the hands of the its holy men to write down its words. Let's say I wrote a song about the Rocky Mountain and another song about a Korean girl I found her picture in social media because I love them so much to the point that they inspired my to writing those emotional songs about them. So who is the true author of those songs? Did the mountain and the Korean girl simply borrowed my hands to write their songs, or did my emotions inspire me to write those song by myself alone? I can guarantee you that the mountain and the Korean girl had no idea of my emotions and my songs. The mountain would have no reaction to my song even if I were to go there and sing to it. But, if I were to do so with the Korean girl, it would depends on if she likes me or not? In the case of the bible Gods, it would be just like my song of the Rocky Mountain.

Cool video. I didn't like Revelation book very much... too convoluted and redundant, but makes sense as the revenge fantasy explained here. The most inconsistency was that there are many super catastrophes with billions dead but somehow there still remain many "nations" and all as if nothing happened.
I just couldn’t understand this book and felt church leaders were speculating about it’s meaning. You always seek something that makes absolute sense. The revenge fantasy makes absolute sense along with the debates about the book being canonized. It near never made it to the Bible collection of books.

I used to have these awesome dreams as a kid about the apacolypse with Jesus coming out of the clouds and UFOs destroying the earth and killing everyone. Used to scare me as a kid, but now wish I still had those dreams.

James 1:5 “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.” I did that. I was struck by your shallow references to what's in the book, without even an attempt on your part to give a unified story other than it was written to be a propaganda piece. I noticed your belief that we didn't have an organized NT (You said Bible) until ca. 360. This is far from incorrect. Somebody should have told the earlier church Fathers who were using it and quoting from it. Athanasius did not form the Bible's content; either by papal authority, or by voting on it or declaring it himself what was so. He was working from history of what was already accepted and known. Yet you didn't even mention the Muratorian Fragment (AD 180). Very disappointed by the content. I find it amazing that one who doesn't seem to believe this is God's word would even want to engage in it at any level of scholarship. You surely cannot find any kind of fulfillment in this kind of research. It seems your only reason for wanting to share this is to sow seeds of doubt or show how you've overcome "god."

Their research is poor. They make one argument that fully rides on the idea that Revelation was written in AD 95 (that the Romans were winning, so John wrote a propaganda campaign), but then switch to an argument that only makes sense if Revelation were written in AD 65 (that 666 was a preconceived reference to Nero.) Nero died in AD 68. If it were written in AD 95, why would John make a prophecy about a guy who died 27 years prior? If it were written in AD 65, John had no such inspiration to propagandize Christians into keeping their faith, as they had not yet been pummeled by the Romans. This is just one way Grunge is mistaken.
There is a lot of information out there and pragmatic arguments for the validity of the Bible! I’m sorry the Christians you’ve encountered have not been able to follow the simple logic that you cannot use the Bible to validate the Bible. That’s disappointing.

You have to read between the line sometimes. The Book of Revelation is indeed a writing of condemnation of Rome. And a book of a hoped for redemption at the end. Hence the "New Jerusalem" at the end. The Beast from the Sea is the Roman Empire. The Beast from Land is likely an Emperor possibly Nero or Trajan(who was Emperor at the height of Roman rule). Satan is in red. The color of the Roman Legions. Even the description of "Great Babylon" is Rome itself. Rome was the master of the known western world at the time. That why Satan is called the "God" of this World. Meaning he is in control of Rome.

Many of the early church took the words of the disciples as “God’s word” because Jesus had chosen to use the disciples and Paul typically to carry out His work in redeeming man kind. The books we have that are written in the Bible are mainly written by those very disciples.
As for what seems like “lousy numerology”, the book of Revelations is anything but just a metaphor and the numerology ties in very intimately with other passages of scripture such as that of Daniel and Zechariah. While Revelations is symbolic in how it describes certain events, that does not undermine it’s literal elements given context is considered in both the pre and post passage readings.
Revelation is a scary and very literal list of events that must take place before the second coming of Jesus Christ. Jesus came to die and give ETERNAL LIFE for FREE to anyone who chooses to accept Him and forgiveness over sin. Best decision anyone can make.

For those who believe in dreams or visions and the spirit world, I have something to share with you to think about.
When I was in my late teens, I had a few vivid dreams that the spirits were so desperate to have or at least to experience the power of having a physical body. To the spirits, their dreams were to be able to be in a body someday even more so than the believers want to be in 'Heaven.' They were willing to trade their whole 'life' to have a physical body even just a for few seconds. They envied human beings and held human beings so high as their Gods.

The original Torah which was lost was the first true Word of God. The Quran is the final Word of God. The New Testament was literally the testimony of the people at that time of what they had witnessed happen in the life of Jesus (peace be upon him). The Ahadith is the Testimony by the Disciples/Sahaba and family of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) of how this Prophet lived according to the Teachings and Instructions given by Almighty God/Allah. Although there are minor contradictions in the Ahadith these do not affect the absolutely vital critieria regarding the crucial beliefs we are encouraged to believe and follow. Unfortunately as people are not perfect there are a lot of contradictions in the Gospels. But in both Islam and Christianity there is the belief that Jesus (peace be upon him) was taken to heaven alive. In Islam we do not believe that this Prophet knows when he will return to the earth but that he will. This is more or less what the Christian's also believe except that the outcome of his return has been prophesied differently in both belief systems. Even today with everything that is happening the return of Jesus (peace be upon him) is believed to be eminent. However throughout history the same thing has been believed many times by the general population. This belief was generally spurred on by some great difficulty experienced at the time such as plagues natural disasters or wars. While I myself am grateful that the city that I live in has not been hit by any of the natural disasters which presently are plaguing the planet I also have the attitude that whether the Messiah comes right now or not my duty is to adhere to the Laws of God/Allah as best I can and seek the Face of My Beloved Master and Owner Almighty God/Allah. My duty is to focus on being the best me that I can be and hopefully He Will Decide that I am Acceptable to Him and I will be able to live in His Presence forever. Sensationalistic imagination is not my wish and this mass hysteria irritates me because there are far more important things to focus on. My wish is to please my Owner and Master my Beloved Almighty God/Allah. The rest does not count.
But I can assure you that the last place on earth I would like to live in is The Levant.

Sure the 55th book in bible claimed all scriptures were inspired by God (Yahweh, the God of Israel) and so it was interpreted and believed that 'God' was the truth author who merely borrowed the hands of the its holy men to write down its words.
Let's say I wrote a song about the Rocky Mountain and another song about a Korean girl I found her picture in social media because I love them so much to the point that they inspired my to writing those emotional songs about them. So who is the true author of those songs? Did the mountain and the Korean girl simply borrowed my hands to write their songs, or did my emotions inspire me to write those song by myself alone?
I can guarantee you that the mountain and the Korean girl had no idea of my emotions and my songs. The mountain would have no reaction to my song even if I were to go there and sing to it. But, if I were to do so with the Korean girl, it would depends on if she likes me or not?

The most inconsistency was that there are many super catastrophes with billions dead but somehow there still remain many "nations" and all as if nothing happened.
I just couldn’t understand this book and felt church leaders were speculating about it’s meaning. You always seek something that makes absolute sense. The revenge fantasy makes absolute sense along with the debates about the book being canonized. It near never made it to the Bible collection of books.

Over two thousands years ago, certain parts the bible already cursed prophets as dreamers and put many to death and to shame. Even Yeshua (Jesus) and his disciples plus Paul and many others were put to shame and death. But, then a Rome Emperor reversed it and so it has been crazier generations after generations and nations after nations ever since.
Nowadays, every believer is a modern day prophet, drawing his/her prophecies from even just a single word from the bible! What a crazy world and crazy god!
Everybody has an opinion so why would that change? Self proclaimed prophets have appeared throughout the ages, many are simply calling it as they see it, a select few have been chosen to disclose the Lords word
Here is an example of another Godless opinion on scripture. John was not at odds with Paul. Scripture is consistent with those who have eyes to see. This website is blind to truth.

James 1:5 “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.” I did that. And as it says in the next verse I did ask in faith, yet no answers were given me. Only judgement from my Christian peers for my upbringing. While I cannot say whether I do believe in a good anymore or not I certainly do not believe in a church. But that’s okay though. Please do not pray for me it’s a waste of your gods precious time. I'll be doing a 16-part teaching on the book of Revelation on Zoom beginning January 5th that includes an in-person class. I was struck by your shallow references to what's in the book, without even an attempt on your part to give a unified story other than it was written to be a propaganda piece.
I noticed your belief that we didn't have an organized NT (You said Bible) until ca. 360. This is far from incorrect. Somebody should have told the earlier church Fathers who were using it and quoting from it. Athanasius did not form the Bible's content; either by papal authority, or by voting on it or declaring it himself what was so. He was working from history of what was already accepted and known. Yet you didn't even mention the Muratorian Fragment (AD 180).
Very disappointed by the content. I find it amazing that one who doesn't seem to believe this is God's word would even want to engage in it at any level of scholarship. You surely cannot find any kind of fulfillment in this kind of research. It seems your only reason for wanting to share this is to sow seeds of doubt or show how you've overcome "god."
For a different perspective from the four approaches he outlined at the end, read The Lamb's Supper by Scott Hahn - he explains the Book of Revelation as a liturgy, and the Catholic mass as an enactment of the book of revelation. It's fascinating.
