Why can't they make it with quick snap-off batteries. That way you could have a few more pre-charged ones in a back pack or in a bike bag to quickly snap in and keep on humming along? They could also include a mini built-in generator that's recharging one of the batteries while your in motion with an in-use battery.
Good review, brother - I have one of the new S8 bikes heading to the UK and I went for the US version. The EU version seems underpowered considering that we have so many hills (I live in Northern England). I'm not a fan of 'EU Regulations' and I will not comply..... There's a huge difference between 250W and 500W for the motor and the torque is way higher for the US version for climbing hills. The EU version will be fine if you live near the coast and the land is flat but for most people in the UK we need something a bit more powerful - EU 'regualtions' be damned..... If you have any hills go for the US version. I told Afredo I wasn't interested in reviewing the S8 unless it was the US version - we're so cucked in the EU.....
EDIT: I had made a comment calling this as a ripoff of an earlier Indiegogo campaign from 2018 and pointing to several inconsistencies and observations from following said product since then, but today I've received an email where the owners of said campaign changed their position and told me they had come to an agreement with the group behind the Afreda S6 global release rebranding, so I'll revoke this.
I love this bike! I received mine a few weeks ago, and since we have had unseasonably mild weather, I have been able to use it on weekends. I would love to find out how many calories a person can burn while using this bike. My Fitbit registered some cardio activity, so even on a bike without pedals, a person can be getting some physical activity in. Obviously, a bike with pedals is going to burn more calories, but a bike like this is more usable for a person like me with arthritis in both knees.
P.S. I did wipe out one time, when I first used the bike. It was my own fault for not realizing that I was approaching a driveway where cars could come out. No harm, no foul, except a little bruising because the sudden stop caused me to lose my balance. Having said that, I don't feel so bad anymore, now that I see that the gentleman who has a UA-cam channel and reviews bikes ALSO had a little spill, lol. If he can do it, I can do it. ;)
Thanks for doing such a great job with the video! I don't know if I would like the handlebars being so close together, but all in all truly a thorough test run of the S6. We reviewed their crowdfunded project on Minno Buckit - ua-cam.com/video/sOnrEWhslMs/v-deo.html
Can I turn off the video now at the very end I will be anticipating a review in a year to see how much of that suspension has rattled of . Thanks for the presentatiin😊
