people keep asking for a vid of part 2 because its tricky at first.....but if you play the first 16 measures over and over ...being mindful of the patterns cos they're quirky...all of a sudden it makes perfect sense and its really cool to play!
Thanks to your vid I've now learned the 1st part although the 2nd part is proving a bit beyond me at this early stage thanks again Andy can't wait for part 2
Yeah, ive played guitar for like 2 years now im 15, i kinda just picked up the banjo today for the first tike and pretty much got down Roll Away Your Stone thanks to you! I tried to learn the second part on te banjo with just the tab but i want able to get the timing right. But thanks for the videos, theyve been a huge help!
you are great...the part 2 of dueling is brilliant.....thank you so much...all intermediate pickers should learn this tab ...there are some very cool bends in the picking patterns
Just got a banjo (about a week ago). Been looking for decent banjo tabs & some simple instructions/examples all over the internet, and couldn't find anything decent till now. Tabs for D.B. has been especially hard to find (mostly 6-string guitar was all I found, kind of odd I think...) You just got another subscriber! Keep up the great work!
Happybanjodude can you please, please, please, make a video for Part 2 but in slow motion? Thanks for the website it has been a great help for learning banjo! Your the BEST!
Do you have a lesson/tab for "I need more time"? I have looked and cannot find any anywhere and I am a beginner so I can't figure out how to do it on my own. So enjoy your videos.
Hi great playing. Can i ask do you have tabs/chords for backup to singing on banjo for Dont think twice its alright by Dylan. Many thanks. Dave in Russia.
I downloaded both part of dueling banjo, when I was a member. I was unable to find a video on how to play the second part, the 3rd line you indicate a hammer where you hit 2 string at the same time.... man I can't figure that part out. can you help, I may reenlist.
Great tutorial, thanks! Someone already asked this, but can You make a video where You play second part, please? This will be very helpful. Thank You in advance!
Hey man, my banjo is tuned to Standard and this seems to play to the right notes un-capo'd. Is that right? if it is I can just play the tabs as printed right? If not can you do some tabs for standard tuning?
im pretty new to this, getting a banjo soon because ive always loved the sound and always wanted to know how to play, just looking into accessories now and wanted to ask whats the thing on your thumb called, is it similar in concept to a guitar pick? also whats the clamp on the bridge of the banjo called?
The thing on the thumb is a thumb pick. You find it also in various guitar styles, such as fingerstyle for example. So yeah, it's just like a normal guitar pick, it just has the advantage that it's fixed to the thumb, so you can use your index finger to pluck the other strings. The clamp on the bridge of the babjo - do you mean the neck? If so, thats a capo, it transposes each string one half tone up per fret. He's using the capo on the 2nd fret, so his tuning sounds like it's tuned to open A, not open G. Hope I was able to help :-)
HBD! I relly need help with finding guitar tabs with this so I can play with my friends for an upcoming event at my school! So do you have any thing that will go with you tab?
So... likely a dumb question but ... my thumb pick seems to be awkward on the 'up' strum. The pick catches and totally prevents anything resembling a smooth sound. Any suggestions?
So one of my friends dad gave me a banjo and told me i can have it (which is awesome since my banjo just recently broke) but he said i need to play him dueling banjos 3 weeks from now... I can play the first part but i cant get the hang of the second part, I'm just wondering when you will put up the second part.

Definitely!
Bought your subscription for the part 2 tab. I know this is an old video, but would you be willing to make a part 2 video? Thanks
You constantly use capos you could make things simple for beginners by getting rid of it and teach using G tuning.
Megan Hand You can play the tab exactly as written without a capo.
+happybanjodude savage fire

The song as played in the movie is most definitely in the key of A. You can still play it without a capo if you'd like!
Hi great playing. Can i ask do you have tabs/chords for backup to singing on banjo for Dont think twice its alright by Dylan. Many thanks. Dave in Russia.

Bruh the breakdown is what we want
Please do a part two because no other video helps
It looks like I have to tune my banjo differently in order to play this? Not standard GDGBD, right? Please explain. Thanks!
Capo
You didn't play the most interesting part at the end :(
Ikr. I really want to learn it and don't know how
im pretty new to this, getting a banjo soon because ive always loved the sound and always wanted to know how to play,

Absolutely love your stuff! Could you do Lakes of Canada cover by Sufjan Stevens with tabs? I haven’t seen a whole lot out there for it

You should do a part 2.
How do u play the fast part after that
repeat and speed up
Hope you dont mind me asking . But can you play/learn Ecstasy of gold , or The good the bad and the ugly theme.. thanks buttie
So... likely a dumb question but ... my thumb pick seems to be awkward on the 'up' strum. The pick catches and totally prevents anything resembling a smooth sound. Any suggestions?
I'm actually using my index finger for the up-strums. Just glide it across the strings and it should sound good!
happybanjodude thanks, I watched the vid a million times and it seemed like it was your thumb.
No matter how I look at it, that looks like your thumb being used on the up strum. So my question is, what brand and type of thumb pick are you using?
subscribed youre funny af
what a shame part 2 was never done
Come on Eileen by Dexy's Midnight Riders please? Thank you!
Is there any way to do this on a 4 string banjo?
I'm sure you could do the opening, but I know when it gets crazy, during the different rolls, the 5th string is a heavy factor
Hey man I was just wondering how if youve done part two yet? Love the videos bro!
You MUST cover and tab 'home' by mumford and sons. It's a great song, but cannot find covers or tabs anywhere, and there's only 1 happy banjo dude!
what are you tuned to
So one of my friends dad gave me a banjo and told me i can have it (which is awesome since my banjo just recently broke) but he said i need to play him dueling banjos 3 weeks from now... I can play the first part but i cant get the hang of the second part, I'm just wondering when you will put up the second part.
yo hbd, you should do Don't Think Twice Its Alright!

It's hard to see your fingers like which string you're pressing down on. Anyone you could add another angle?

I can't find the tabs!!!
