Dude !....DUDE !!!! I have searched far and wide since 2005 to find someone who can play this and finally help me!!!....I lost faith and have finally come back and found your video....and its awesome!!!!....buying a Banjo just now just to learn this.....YES!!
Brilliant tutorial the best I've found i watch and learn regularly, im 74 and have ñig hands but iv got to phrase 4 fairly quickly but im struggling to keep up now, your fingers are moving quite fast but in tim i think i will get there, thanks. Ian
Brilliant. I love the banjo roll. Unfortunately I am only a guitar player. I have the basic chords but cannot do the rolls. Do you have any tabs for me ? Will I need the special plectrums?
I luuuuuuuuuuuuv it! I finally got this licked ( excuse the pun ) I have learnt other arrangements but the break don’t sound like duelling banjos! This does thank you
I just subscribed to your channel because of the quality of this show,I have trouble getting my pinky finger to work, would like to see tabs for this tune, it's one of my favorites !!
Hey Antonio, sorry it took so long to reply. We have tab available for guitar on Tunefox. Go to tunefox.com or download the tunefox app in the app store. You can get a free 30 day trial. With the trial and as a subscriber you can access a huge library of songs, licks, and lessons with lots of tools to help you practice efficiently and keep you inspired!
Very nice site and video. You earned yourself a subscriber. Nice to see a lesson on the Break portion of the song and not just any break, one that sounds very similar to the one used in the movie. Unless I didn't see it, it would be nice to include a print tab feature, the tab video is good but I'm just not programed to learn songs like that. Definitely going share to the banjo forums.
thanks so much! If you open up the Tools menu at the bottom right of the tab page you'll find the Export to PDF option. Right now, it's a member-only feature.
After a couple of tests we can confirm the link is working properly. Maybe try watching and following the link in a different web browser. Also, there's multiple links in the description, which one did you click?
Hey Bob, the tabs were up for a limited time when we first made the video. You can access the tabs through Tunefox.com or by downloading the Tunefox app in the apple app store. With a free 30 day trial you'll have access to Dueling banjo tab and a huge song library for banjo, mandolin, and guitar.

Hey, love this !, just used the link to go to tunefox, signed up and went to get the tab for this video, but I'm not seeing anything other than the strings and 4/4 timing. Any ideas?
the tab is kind of start and stop to leave time for the guitar. Did you scroll down? Also, we'd recommend using Google Chrome as that could be the issue as well.
I play it pretty much like the original so it was interesting to see your arrangement. I like to end with a chime. This is not a song because a song is vocal. This is a tune.
Merlyn Schutterle yup it’s based on the original- not the exact same. The good thing about it is that the chord progression is so common that lots of people play it differently. There’s a ton of material and licks to choose from when improvising.
@@tunefox7347 For the purists, They can find Eric playing a very different arrangement here on you tube. It is really great, so I don't want to hear complaints about keeping everything original.
So you call this a tune. What about all the classical music that are songs when they have no vocal? Merlyn - you my friend are not a music major - like myself. I play piano, organ, and autoharp - I play songs with no vocal. Secular, religious, country, classical - many with no vocals. Many are songs - not tunes. You really need to learn what you actually call tunes!!!
Lived in Kentucky for 2 years and just had to buy a banjo, (as you do 🙂). Dueling Banjos was the first thing I came across on this UA-cam channel. This is awesome and just wanted to thank you for teaching me sir. Got stuck for a while and now picked it back up again. Getting a little better each day. Thanks again for sharing.
Great rendition but tutorial delivery could’ve been better. Showing these “typical Scruggs” rolls/licks ain’t telling me squat. Even just one quick run through of each lick would suffice. Great sounding cover though, I’m just gonna have to go at it at 25% playback speed
If the point of this video was to get me to buy tune fox it failed. As a few others have pointed out , the beginning was easy to follow but then he flies through the tough parts very quickly. I’ve spent more time trying to figure out what he was doing then actually playing.
Downloaded tune fox and only see one version, and it's not what you just played isn't he breakdown the one and only was 555555, 000000, 555555, 7777 etc. not at all like you played
Babsly Heathbar when you tap on dueling banjos in the song library you’ll be taken to a page where you can choose the arrangement you want to learn. You’ll see “From the Top” and if you swipe left you’ll see the Breakdown section. Let me know if you still don’t find it. Feel free to send an email to support@tunefox.com and we can send you some screenshots to help you find it
sorry about that. Check out the tab here www.tunefox.com/banjo/dueling-banjos/ and you can slow it down to your liking. Also, if you need to slow it down on UA-cam click the gear (Settings) button on the bottom right corner.
Can you please show in writing what chords you are playing? I am in a small room and have to look at videos on mute. I don't know what you are playing! Disappointed!!!!!
