I've had so many requests for a tutorial on this tune ever since I posted my version a few years ago so here it is! Tab also available to patrons at www.patreon.com/danwalshbanjo
Note this is a clawhammer banjo version and you'll probably need to have at least played for a little while to do this one. More detailed videos and tutorials on particular techniques are also available on my Patreon. Anyway, have fun!

Dan. Dan. Wow! Great lesson. I have your lesson more or less down. How you play it at 5 minutes in is impossible to follow as you are so masterfully fast and mind bogglingly accurate - I'd love to learn some of these other licks. I guess I have to keep plugging away unless you happen to have time to break the super fast bit down from 5.00 to the end into digestible chunks (hint hint pretty please). You're in a class of your own dude.

Is it just a personal choice not to wear picks ? .... other players tend to recommend .... just wandering
Hi Paul. Clawhammer style is traditionally played without picks, using the back of the nail and the thumb. Three finger style which is the style used for the film soundtrack version pretty much always uses picks :)
