“A Teacher” explores the complexities and consequences of a predatory relationship between a young teacher and her student. Beautiful and quietly enigmatic, Claire is the newest teacher at Westerbrook High School in Texas. Dissatisfied in her marriage to her college sweetheart, Claire’s life changes when Eric, a charming all-American senior in her English class, asks for help preparing for his SAT test. Popular and outgoing, Eric is the captain of the soccer team and nearly inseparable from his best friends. Everything seems perfect on the surface, but Eric is forced to juggle the pressures of school, applying for college and a part-time job, all while helping take care of his two younger brothers. As Claire and Eric begin to spend more time together, boundaries are crossed, and a subtle game of grooming begins. The permanent damage left in the wake of Claire’s choices becomes impossible for them, and their friends and family, to ignore.

Kids will have crushes on their teachers. It's up to the adult to make sure there are good boundaries.
Nick is such a great actor his nuisances in this scene are so palatable. Kate too. Spot on. Really shows the power position Claire is in and how vulnerable Eric is.
This is where Claire begins to blur the lines with Eric. She acts like his buddy.
And he is so innocent...who acts like that with their teacher?? Come on...
@@LunaLu-00 he’s a minor 🙃
@@alib3208 that's right and you don't act like that as a minor, do you? I couldn't even look at my teacher from respect and because i was a minor !! Do you understand that? Some "kids" are trouble and there are no excuses in my book I knew I had to be responsible
@@LunaLu-00 Even if the minor is the worst behaved minor you ever met it doesnt matter, she in this situation is the adult, its illegal and wrong and her full responsibility. It would be her responsibility to report him if he was so badly behaved and inappropriate for that behaviour not indulge it. At his age his brain isnt fully developed yet whereas hers is.
@@AnabananaBeauty Preach. Many things that are legal are actually very wrong and v.v....but, no worries, I am not going to waste my time on explaining my perspective on the current "morality" of highly immoral, hypocritical species ..Feel free to continue preaching, but not to me.
Paying for the food, sharing her food like she’s his mom… all types of luring
She's a cheapskate . I would have wanted more than half a grilled sandwich if she wanted to get me in the sack
I think most of it is fine as a one time thing besides the remark on Logan and perhaps tutoring
It's just what happens later that's not
They really wasted those milkshakes 💀
Lol. I was thinking the same thing.
That’s mess up on wasting the milkshakes
The saddest part of the series. Though her milkshakes bring the boys to the yard😂😂
@@user-ec1xm4cs3h😂😂😂
Those looked so good, I would’ve drank that chocolate one😂
My favorite teacher gave me a ride one time, he was hella paranoid about it. Wouldn't ever give hugs either, though he was everyone's favorite and invested in us so much. Glad he wasn't the grooming type, kids really are so desperate for affection
they wasted those really yummy looking milkshakes
forreal, how they gonna leave their food after just getting it lmao
Ikr they could have gotten their milkshakes to go or just drank them super quick.
lol that’s what I was concerned with too!!
Yeah. They never eat in movies. It's annoying...and unrealistic.
This would be such an adorable little meetcute if this wasn't STUDENT AND FRIKKIN TEACHER
There is obvious flirting in this scene. She starts to behave outside the realm of being a teacher/professional.
SAT *is* a skill that you can actually learn!
I knew this teacher wasn't sh*t when she stole that lipstick in the store 5 minutes into the show.
you do realize they did that inorder for you to hate her. its fictional they gave her a husband so the audience would hate her be against her for cheating etc. its propaganda also it made the 18year hesitate. 99% of 18year old young men would be for relationship if it happen to them
@@ManuelGarcia-oz9uo Yeah the lipstick thing is or seems fake and so does the husband thing, i mean why marry him in the first place? And yes i know stuff like that happens ( a lot more often than not ) in real life Alpha f***s beta bucks but Claire and Eric where genuinely inlove, and she was not with her husband and never was because she said,
i never gave myself permission to feel this way.
As for the so the audience would hate her thing.
Because he was her student and thats just a not accepted in real life even though he was 17 and 18 in episode 5,
and let's say mature for his age, kissed her first and at 0:32 in this vid
ua-cam.com/video/nHPvSLRXKnM/v-deo.html it doesn't matter they where afraid for the backlash and/or where the backlash.
@@spacelogic101whatif agreed society backwards. Teens been having relationships with 20,30 year old for all off history. Teens are not children. If people think that then go watch a youtube documentary on teens serving major prison time some life in prison. Almost all the comments day those teens knew what they were doing and are. Not children.
The teen in this tv show has 1st world problems it was such a joke.
@@ManuelGarcia-oz9uo just because it happens doesn’t make it okay for teens to be dating adults???? teens are not adults. it’s science and common sense. there are many factors that go into teens being in prison/juvie. humans are complex and what does that even have to do with someone not being an adult. teens being in prison proves that point that they struggle to make rational decisions because they are not mature yet.
@@yoyobowie1524 teens are adults , its science and biology ! They can reproduce, they can reason as adults and know the difference between good and evil. Lastly the designation TEEN is artificial. There is no such think as teen in most other languages . The numbers TEEN, as a matter of fact in america the concept of teenager is a post world war 2 concept.
Also you list said the fact that many are in prison proves the point, wtf you support children being in prison! By your logic that's evil! The reason teens are in prison is to feed the white supremacist prison industrial complex. If a 9 year old commited a crime would you support them being in jail? No because you know thats a child, if a 15 year old robbed you what would you tell the judge they didn't know what they were doing they can reason like an adult lol. You don't even believe your bs
ugh the subtle flirting here is killing me..
same this show is so difficult to watch 90% of the time 😩
I want this to happen to me before i turn 20
When I look back on these clips of the show, I can't help but feel so bad for Nick. The whole situation is very shocking, sad and very messed up. On the show Nick is only 18 in the beginning. He has his whole life and future ahead of him. He isn't old enough to drink and he is still in high school. The fact that older adults who are in their mid - late 20s, 30s, 40s etc, who take advantage of school aged teenagers and younger is very ridiculous and saddening. I'm 27 and if I was a parent of a 17 or 18 year old who is in high school like Nick no matter if it was my son or daughter, I would be pressing charges and jail wouldn't be the only thing that the sexual predator would have to worry about, there would be a huge lawsuit coming that person's way by me.
Nick Robison so handsome
- Hi Ms Wilson.
- Hi aren't you from Love Simon.
- Yeah
~~ THE END ~~
The sky is the limit for this young man
Great acting!
His smile😩😩😩
"UT" "Austin" and "5 years old." The "sharing of her food when he was nervous and hungry." "Buying him something to eat."
If only Logan didn’t approach Claire.
She probably would have found another way. Eric did work at the diner after all.
Apart of me feels like if Logan stayed longer, he would've been the student Claire would've preyed on and not Eric!
@@jamaljames9331 You and @Muffinga make good points.
PAGETURNER!!!!!!LOL
I LOVE HOW ASSERTIVE/ AGGRESSIVE THIS LITTLE BOY IS. SOOO MATURE!!!!!!!!!!!LOL
Dude the tutoring excuse ughh I had a guy who kept trying to get with me and his excuse was he desperately needed tutoring because he was failing
I wouldn’t leave my milkshake
Bro, Shane Harper that isn’t in Gods Not Dead (the only other thing I have only seen him in). Evolved
Dam can't wait
Was it worth IT…?
@@napoleonwhitehorse971 YES!!! IT WAS A BRILLIANT SERIES!
Giving him half of her grilled cheese sandwich is a subtle sign of grooming.
Paying for the food. I also think I could see how a student and teacher would have an instant re pore given the UT connection and him needing help with SATs. He crossed lines but she should have stopped it by telling him she cannot give him a ride. The lines were blurred right away as a result.
the whole scene is grooming
I mean, as a teacher I would've paid for the food, because I understand the struggle, but I think there's a huge difference between paying for the kids' food and intent. Especially with putting down the other student to be "relatable". IDK, it's a hard line.
@@notinamerica_911 I think nothing is wrong with having a close relationship with your teacher, where they make you feel like you can trust them and have a lot of faith in you and see potential in you to succeed greatly.
HOWEVER, there needs to be a line where you don't make the student feel too comfortable or tempt them into feeling some form of sexual or romantic affection from you that can lead to being very inappropriate. Which is what Claire does with Eric, she betrays that trust he has in her and emotionally manipulates to gaslighting him into thinking he was initiating their relationship to lead into that sexual territory.
You stay behind
I like the boy in the movie
I saw the trailer it was hard to watch just bad. Both characters just were not great..
I think it based on the movie the english teacher 2013
It is
It is
I saw the tailor for A teacher movie looks awful. Series is much better. Nick and Kara have chemistry off the charts and both more attractive.
I feel like Logan probably would've been the student Claire would prey on, if Eric wasn't left alone with her!
Come to back room
Ughh It's cute but it's so inappropriate and twisted. Guess wrong place wrong time is a thing.
I totally agree but at least this show is convening the negative sides of a teacher student relationship unlike pretty little liars or other shows.
And also couldn't they just wait a few years and then date?
@@rachelperkins5834 They’re going to show how impulsive Claire is in her thinking, not considering the consequences of her actions of instant gratification (esp as an authority figure to Eric)
Ummm...this is not cute AT ALL.
This is not what wrong place wrong time is and they are not cute. She is really manipulative no matter the time or place and if she decided to do this to him she is not the right person for him or a good person in general.
Maybe you can help me.
What, you mean like tutor you in biology?
ERIC IS WAYYYYYYY TOOOOOO SKINNY!!!!!!!!!!! He needs to eat MORE!!!!!!LOL
Come home with me
Nick Robinson is SO HOT lol
SO FINEEEEE
He is a minor in this movie so chill
Jk😂
This is so sad. Grooming is so wrong, which is what she’s don’t.
Varsity Blues did this a LOT better with the teacher being a stripper in that movie.
CLAIRE'S WORKING ON ANOTHER KISS FROM A TEENAGE BOY!!!!!! How many KISSES from TEENAGE boys will she GET?????????
Darn this is uncomfortable

Great acted awkwardness
Great actors. First is the best part....by the way, I don't see any abuse anywhere...I just see two adults in a difficult relationship...the teacher make a mistake, getting involved in a relationship with his student before he finished hight school....and beside she was married...
I don't think he's 18 here, I think it's a lot later.
The fact that you don’t see the abuse 🚩
@@Persei1 children cannot consent. He was 17.
