I also have a clarification to make regarding one bit of tech:
Casting Flame Dart to leave the Bad Thing screen early isn't 4 seconds faster than the previous method, it's just faster than waiting for the cutscene. The alternate method of just leaving the screen using keyboard input is comparable, but I timed the sequence from start to the "you got away this time" pop-up which showed the Flame Dart option as being slightly faster.
However, since your sprite is on-screen and moving when using that method (you're running to the centre of the screen after that message pops up), it's possible that the animations of the monkeys running in and the scene ending ends up taking longer. This seems... random? Further testing is required.
I would recommend using the older method for now, where you just keyboard move off-screen. It may be slower to the "You got away this time" pop-up but the final time may be faster due to the above.
