Customer Karen Says she wants us to drive on her driveway AGAIN after we allegedly damaged it?

- Hey everyone so this is a reupload from last year, We pulled up to this customer's house did a quick easy decking delivery. The day was a bit cooler, mid spring if memory serves us correctly. We noticed the asphalt was still fresh but we made no sharp turns or anything to get the delivery to the end of the driveway. we took pictures of it last time and you can even seen here that there was no visible damage. When we showed up to the shipper however we were notified that she wanted to file a claim for "obliterating" the customers driveway. The Store manager seen the photos and agreed the customer was over dramatic and agreed on this next delivery for the customers second delivery it would be left curbside.
We try to help people as much as we can but with situations like that where the Manager at the shipper and our company agreed to leave it curbside..... The rest the customer can figure out. Also the customer stated we weren't supposed to be there until tomorrow: We the delivery company have no control over the scheduling of the product and that is to be delivered, That is setup with the shipper.
Thanks for watching!

I don't blame you a bit. I will leave a load in a heartbeat.
I would never drive on that driveway again either... If she already filed a complaint and made an issue out of it why on earth would you drive on it again?
You handled that with professionalism. Well done. She filed a claim and then wants you drive on the drieway AGAIN? Yea, NO.
It’s definitely a sign of the world we live in when you need to record every move you make.
To be fair, it's much better now that you can record everything. Imagine being a delivery driver 50 years ago and you had to deliver that same load to that woman. Without any video recordings it would be your word against hers.
GOD BLESS BODY AND DASH CAMS...
It is more of a sign of his ego. He needs to find a new job
Country folk are entitled
@@chowner His ego? Way to tell on yourself bro lol. Truckers do curbside delivery. He did her a favor last time and she whined and complained. It's a liability issue so of course he's not bringing it down that driveway. Turn your brain on.
She is the type to think everyone is trying to rip her off so she takes control of deliveries and what not but then is upset when she realizes she can't handle anything at all on her own.
dirt on the driveway after a delivery from a semi trucks forklift is not the end of the world, Ol Sally here needed to pick up a broom and sweep it into the grass. Instead, she tattled to this dude boss about dirt. she deserves the BS shes getting now
The contractor should be handling this 100%
nope, this lady has been watching all the shows on TV and they told her its better if the homeowner buys the material because contractors are rip offs. The lady wants to run the job let her handle it. OR she hired Home Depot to build the deck so let them handle it.
@@bryanpinto4051 exactly, they don't want to pay the contractor to handle logistics for them, so now it's your problem. There's times when the contractor needs to pick up the materials because the supplier won't deliver to a specific address and the homeowner still doesn't understand material markup?
wrong. We have materials delivered to the job site. the only prob here is the customer
@@Mike1614YTAgain, they don’t let contractors handle it. The best customers always let the contractor take care of it. We show up and the materials are on site.
@MuckyPup115 yeah mostly cause customers don't understand waste. every time a homeowner says they have the material there it's always short.
Now she will always get true curbside delivery. I'm sure the contractor was treated badly as well which is why he dumped everything on her
Which is why I do new subdivision framing only. No homeowners to deal with. They’re not even allowed on site. Lol it’s perfect.
I've done work for someone like that in the past and I walked off the jobsite

If your asphalt driveway is newly laid and still not set you should really cordon it off and not schedule deliveries until it's ready to be driven on
I believe her asphalt was about 30 years give or take
HOW about maybe do the driveway last after everything else is done
She needs to learn in construction there will occur minor damages she needs to tolerate or, cover her driveway with plywood. A sheet is what now, passing the $20's. At $20 a sheet it may be about $400-$500 to cover just one wing of her driveway to get trough it without a hair falling onto it.
You can’t just leave the stuff at the edge of the road. That is a hazard to other drivers. You and your company could be libel if somebody ran up on this and got hurt or killed. You are being passive aggressive. The company needs to send another driver to work for her. You two obviously don’t work well together.
@@qualitylife9359The driver left the load at the curve for the reasons already covered in the video. If someone ran against this load, s/he could've ran against you or anything else and you won't like to be blamed right? Same with the one who placed the load there. Start being reasonable and stop being a Karen or an infantile or an abnormal, always blaming others for your negative outcome. This behavior is common in immature people whether adults or adolescents, in infantile, in abnormal people, if we are speaking with a normal person, then behave as such, if we are not, continue to make the best efforts to behave as normal, as mature, as reasonable, as most adults that work in every field. And if you continue being like that, like the opposite of normal, mature, civil if you please, show your real name to avoid serving you. Because the minute we go to you we will always be missing something, and we are givers, bringers, workers, we will always go to you to feed you, to give you, to then be sucked up and ruined by you, come on!
she’s like a child, it’s everyone else’s issue aside from her: you, the contractor, your company, other drivers, other people stealing her stuff. never once was she like “i really got myself in a situation by being difficult and problematic. i’m sorry.”
She knew, she even tried to downplay it by saying she didn't realize the tire marks would fade. However, she held on to that "Sorry" I'm surprised he got a "thank you" at the end.
Nope, no one takes accountability anymore and can't fess up they made a mistake. Get upset at your 'contractor" not the delivery truck who places perfectly next to the curb for wait for it..........CURBSIDE Delivery!
Though in plenty of places, one will get fined for putting such next to the road. It is part of the road construction. Likely not private ground and if someone roms a flat, swings into it, you will likely get a letter from a lawyer.
Except the city never pays out when their lack of road maintenance causes accidents. Typical. Lazy and cheap government only funds wars and foreign leaders. @@tjallingdalheuvel126
As a tow truck driver I dealt with A LOT of situations just like this. The first time a complaint was received when I was trying to assist a customer more than required, my manager told me something that has stuck with me for 20 years now, "no good deed goes unpunished". My manager was a wise man.
What that saying mean?
@@jerryn7303 That if you do good, you will be punished. Got it? So, do good, and if you want do extra good, but get ready, they will come to make you suffer for being good. That happens only with ungrateful. But if you're a business person trying to grow and acquire customers, that's what you do, good, but since you'll get punished once you'll get it you start limiting yourself because they'll be like a guillotine hitting by the middle of your skull so if you aren't alert they almost ruin your life at times. @@jerryn7303 no. Heartless human beings. Or people that no matter what you do good to them, they pay bad to us, when we didn't do harm, we didn't do bad to them. Is a commonality on some people. They're evil people. If you don't understand English well use a translator, like Google translate, or maybe you're young and this kind of treatments aren't easily understandable for you. But that is what happens sometimes, you go, you do a service, a job, whatever, or more than a good thing, and they responded in a negative way to you without cause. Do you understand now?
A scammer is a thief. Someone that steal. They will be punished but the good people don't go after evil to make them pay for their evil or wrong doing. We count on authorities or God, they or someone without our knowledge will make them pay to all, to evil, to wrongdoers, and to good doers as well but the payment we, the good doers will normally receive is good, is blessings, by God and most humans, but the payment evil doers will receive is the wrath of God up to their destruction, but that's another topic. Hope you understand now.
@@rodolfoplasencia4953 I don't need Google translate. Instead I think you need to use Grammarly, you can look it up and download it for future use. It would do you some justice. The amount of run on sentences written renders your writing incoherent.

"Burn me once, shame on you; burn me twice, shame on me," is the adage I'd live by too. Boggles the mind that people like her can't understand her prior actions resulted in doing EXACTLY what the delivery type was.
There's a lot of talk about the lady burning the guy. Her filing a claim for property damage is burning him when he caused the damage, meaningful or not? I've had to file a claim, the guy drove through my yard to the wrong deck, crushing water drainage lines. I did not tell him to deliver to that deck across the yard. I mean he had to ignore an entire Fallin in deck to go to the other one anyways. idk, doesn't matter to me .. its just weird to see so much hate over the claim
@@Amer1can1nfidel i think the burning part comes in when she wants it in the back of her driveway on the 2nd delivery after she already had filed a complaint. kinda like shes setting him up is what i think hes getting at.

@Sheila Connecticut yes, you did miss something, go back to the begonias g of the video.
This time, turn the sound on.
He explains it, in detail, very well.
There is a reason her contractor will not deal with her, and only wants to come and build.
If you think she’s a bad customer then you’ve never worked as a contractor and had a difficult customer or dealt with a difficult person. More likely than not her contractor is overcharging her for as little work as possible. It’s the contractor’s job to manage drop off of materials and coordinate with delivery drivers/companies when there’s a new driveway or any other obstacles. Too many people in this thread have no clue how unprepared the average homeowner is to deal with situations like this. However due to a national shortage of skilled labor, you’ve got a lot of contractors barely showing up…not properly managing their projects, not considering the homeowner or their property or that things might go wing… then things like this happen. Meanwhile those contractors still end up getting paid and some charge whatever they want because they know people in their communities have no other options.
@@natscat210 And yet the Contractor still doesn't want to do anything for her other than build..so clearly he think she's a bad customer. I don't get the the essay; it changes nothing.

Yeah but she already went crazy when she sued his company for damage to her driveway which she admitted was gone now and you couldn't see anything. And let's not forget that he was supposed to deliver curbside before and was helping her out by taking her purchase down the driveway. So he was being nice and she gave him her ass to kiss. IJS
You are right. They both had a legitimate issue and both acted like decent adults. She may have been too picky with the last claim, But she did sign off with some slight imperfections left on her driveway. I would say two decent people acting decent

@@banshee8989 yeah it seems like her issue is more about the truck, and therefor the delivery being brought all the way up to the house. That's what you got from that? What I seen is he was trying hard to antagonize her even when she was trying to come up with the solution. Then "you can't leave that there", "I don't know about the contractor" etc etc etc. Like, you watch her, she walks like you have to stop your life because she's moving, acting, thinking, to come back and hear her saying "can you put it here?" She doesn't get them that she already received her delivery. Is done. Takes time, energy, lots of care to offload a heavy equipment, pick up, move a piece of load. She had it. Done to next job. Now was the drama part she needs to throw because she wasn't accepted at a Housewives Hollywood soap, The View or she doesn't have a man willing to put up with her. And you both think she wasn't a Karen? She was actually very understanding toward the end. And thanked you after the back and forth negotiating. You explained to her well why you couldn’t drive on her driveway. Good job man! It’s understandable that because she is having difficulty with her contractor, she is generalizing her frustrating to include delivery folks like you too. From her talk nothing is this broad's problem.
Many customers have problems with unprofessional services and contractors, they then think everyone is trying to screw them over. This driver should have used his discretion to not drive on what is noticeably new tar in the previous delivery. Her better attitude and demeanor could have gotten her further, but people get way in over their heads when projects start, tensions get high when customers have to be involved in things they shouldn't be involved in. This boils down to the contractor dropping the ball. A customer shouldn't have to worry about product being stolen, and project logistics. That's the contractors duty. Something she pays him to take care of.

Can't believe some of the customers you have to put up with, your just the delivery man man. Props to your patient personality bro.
She still doesn't understand that she's the reason why she's now having this issue. My dad had an issue with an old woman years ago. He went to pick up her car that wouldn't start from her driveway. The driveway slopes down towards the house and my dad had to park the truck across the road blocking it. As my dad started winching the car up the woman comes over to her car and opens the door. It was parked with the rear facing out so the slightly open door damaged her fence and she ended up putting a claim in for the fence and some damage to the car door.
I really hate people like this who go out of their way to cause problems. I think they're bored with their life and have nothing better to do which is why they are like this. It may sound wrong but if possible I would avoid dealing with older woman. They are never wrong in their opinion, it's always going to be someone else's fault.
Been there. Tried to tell a man my truck would tear his yard up, he said it would be ok. Backed in, truck got stuck, had to call tow truck to pull me out. This was before I was an O.O. lesson learned. You have to learn not to let someone else run your rig, weather your driving or loading, unloading.
The contractor can’t stop and run errands. It’s all all understandable...
