How does one find an installer of these liners? Who would we call? A general contractor? A fireplace installer? We need a liner replaced and installed.
NFPA 211 states insulation is needed for all solid fuel burning appliances. Cord wood, pellet etc. However, as a certified chimney sweep I do recommend insulating a liner for all exterior chimneys, even liquid fuel burning appliances such as oil or gas furnaces. The insulation will mitigate moisture condensation on the stainless steel liner and ultimately greatly extends the lifespan of the liner.
I’m a mason by trade. I don’t know where you come up with the price of $15000 to $20000 to rebuild a chimney. If that’s the case, I’m moving to where ever you live. Will be able to retire after six months work
This Has to be one of the best videos I've seen on explaining why you need a chimney liner and also why the chimney deteriorates.... good job!!!
Very informative video, we show it to our customers sometimes for better explanation👍

Does the stainless liner need to have insulation wrap on outside of liner?

I was quote 10K for my chimney repair and install
@ they must be hosing you on the materials, i would be interested in hearing what exactly you are doing for them to charge you $10k
I don’t understand how or why you would or could rebuild a damn chimney for less than 10K in Maryland
....Interesting...
How can I get prices?
Call a chimney sweep. Ive been doing chimney work cleaning ect 35 years. Always something different
Look for a contractor that lists chimney repair
❤
This has no bearing on the vast majority of chimneys in the USA. Total Garbage
If you have a chimney, get yourself a CHIMELLA you will save Hundreds per year on your energy bills
explain
It's used to block the chimney when you don't use the fireplace so warm air won't escape.@@firstname-qq3xp
