This is not a game, it's an art. A masterpiece. Kan, you're a genius.
Well, games are art.
truer words were never spoken still crying over this
-Can anyone make a good love video game?
-I Kan
aaaaaand Gao!
Here we Gao again
Still the best out there. Nothing has come close
Mother 3
No one game has beaten this ever since
Why am I watching this again?
I don't know, I just feel like crying.

Going back to this, with the release date of Finding paradise trailer done. Gonna need to re-run this game again :')
You are not alone
national onion ninja brigade is on duty
Honestly, this is not a game, neither an art. This is a MASTERPIECE. It proves you that you don't need fancy graphic or complicated gameplay for a game to be amazing.
11/10
+Ainul Yaqin 10000000000000000000000000000000000000000000/10
It's over 9000/10, IGN should rate it that.
For me, when there is a story, that's all I will see it as, a story. It doesn't matter whether it's conveyed through a projector, screen or paper. There is a lot to be learned from other people, to dismiss it as trivial would be ignorant.
Ainul Yaqin well said man!
Stop using the word masterpiece, it's fucking overused and this game is overrated.
The ending to this game was a scenographic and synchronization genius!
@Muhammad Ethan wow what a scam
i forgot what's the ending about, can you explain it to me again?
More like the whole game was!

@@YU-py2nk "We will regroup on the moon, silly" was the peak for me, when everything came together...
To the Moon is what you would get if you played the beginning of _Up_ backwards and had it directed with all the heart of Studio Ghibli.
I don't think I've ever been so emotionally affected by a story in my life. I don't know why I came back here to watch this, but I'm fucking crying again :')
I have not ever played To the Moon but if you want another emotional story you should try Undertale. It has a very good story that the player can change. In the True Pacifist ending I cried at the end.
what a nice description.. Yeah it has a strong Ghibli vibe.
Grown up u fkhead

@@claudegerald9355 Only one comment on this channel.. Your face sucks, since you don't have one.
honestly this is better than Hollywood romantic movies. Like beyond it.
*****
it takes much time due to the gameplay. to adapt this game into a movie, the production team must play and enjoy the game first to get the essence
Actually if you cut out some of the less important scenes and increase the running time of the movie you could end up with an academy winning master piece.
***** That's not much to shout about in fairness. I've had dumps that were more romantic than the mindless unemotional detached tosh that comes out of Hollywood.
Hollywood is for action movie only.
All the love-movie on Hollywood suck bulls.
Ventus S To be honest, they can't do action either. They can't understand the concept of theme or character building or the notion of subtlety.
10/10 would take beta blockers to live through this game again.
this comment...i can't believe you... did it...
Where can I get beta blockers? :(
I'll do this
Man, I can't even watch the trailer without tearing up.
Kan, what have you done to me, all these feels...
Haha feel the same man
If I could choose one way to demonstrate humanity, I would choose this game. This game is what being human is all about, every little aspect of it.
Except for war
@@zackyfirmansyah2448 amd literally everything else lol

I just want to thank the super fucking talented legend, Kan Gao, for letting us experience these feels. Finding your games have been one of the best thing to happen in my life.
danashrulez I'm here after playing it, sucks that now I have to remember 2 amazing games at the same time now.

Just found out about this game. The trailer made me cry so I can only imagine what's coming next. I can already tell you guys are something else. Greetings from Argentina!
I wish this game is a Live Action Movie Drama. This is so Inspirational Game in my whole life
No. Live action will be bad. Better the anime version

Where can I play this game??
I've always considered myself a connoisseur of story in video games. Don't get me wrong, I like gameplay too, see Fallout 3, Borderlands 1, Rogue Legacy, ect. I've always felt that a game with a compelling story will end up being one of my favorites and can help me overlook shortcomings elsewhere, see Dragon Age: Origins, with mediocre combat and one of the best stories in a game I've played.
However, this little 2-3 hour game? Blows every other story in a game I've seen out of the water. It is literally the only piece of media that had ever made me cry. Not to say others haven't touched me, but I'm not easy to make cry, and you did it. This is an utter masterpiece of a game and if you have any doubts about playing it, push them aside. This is a story of a generation and everyone should play it.
Ken Gao, my hat's off to you. You are a masterful writer and designer, and you've made a masterpiece. I can't wait to see A Bird Story and what's next for this series beyond that.
considering playing it, it looks depressing tho?
xXJeReMiAhXx99 I wouldn't call it depressing (Like say watching Gantz or Deadman Wonderland is depressing), but it's a sad story, and it's touching too. Trust me, it's worth playing.
THE ONLY piece of media that you ever cried to? Gee, I cry everytime the ape throws the bone into the air and it becomes an orbiting satellite, showing 5 million years of evolution in a single cut, in the movie 2001.
Play spec ops the line it will blow your mind away with its amazing story
btw 18+ lots and lots of violent
thunderbosz I can handle a bit of violence. After all, I'm one of those guys who immediately grabs the Bloody Mess perk in Fallout.
Yes, I heard Spec Ops: The Line had a very good story (getting a very surprising glowing review from Zero Punctuation), I just never got around to playing it. One of these days I'll crowbar it into my library.
Ken - I just finished TO THE MOON Last night....This was one of GREATEST video games I have ever played. My tears were flowing at the end of this game. I just reviewed your game. I'm excited to check out A Bird Story next - AMAZING job - This was unbelievable. The game really affected me.
It’s been eleven years since we first meet. To the moon series has been stay with me along my youth which I will remember them forever
This is one of the best games I have ever gotten the pleasure to play.
Thank you Kan Gao and team.
And again, after all years - thank you very much for this masterpiece.
2018 and this is still one of the best pieces of work I've ever been blessed to witness. Thank you, Kan Gao, for a beautiful story, and a just as striking sequel. I can't wait for more
This game needs to be played by everyone. It will teach the value of life and love because of how beautiful this game is and always will be. A timeless story that will forever be in my heart.
I am playing video games since the mid-80s. I played them all. All the genres, all the exciting games, all the high polished expensive masterpieces. Hundreds and hundreds of games…
This one stood out. By far. It’s the pinnacle of them all.
I am so thankful to be allowed to experience it. The game helped me to put my life in perspective. How lucky I am. How precious life is. How fast it can all go by. How I should enjoy every minute of it.
Since that day I finished this game the song ‘For River’ is my alarm clock ring tone. And it will be played on my funeral…
Be careful because making it your alarm clock risks making you hate it
8 years have passed
And i'm still crying
The game that made me learn playing piano, forever grateful, awesome memories
You know a game is good when the trailer can bring out a tear
I’ve been wanting to play this game for years now and it just randomly popped up in my recommended almost 9 years later. Maybe it’s time to give it a play.
this is still one of the best games ever made/played, i listen to the soundtrack often and share it with everyone...
And now, thanks to Finding Paradise, we finally know what the room at the start is.
Nyerguds yup. it is sigmund corp's HQ
Well, no. Just the place where they receive potential customers. The _actual_ HQ is where Neil and Eva's offices are.
I just want to chime in that as an autistic man I related to River incredibly much and in wonderful ways, to get to see myself reflected in the game was amazing. The game moved me to tears several times (including the entire final third of the game, I was sobbing live on stream). Thank you so much for this game.
one of most beautiful game that i ever seen
it's been a bit over a decade and this game, and the ones following afterwards, have always been my absolute favorite series and with the release of IF, i'm excited to see what other projects FBG has in the future (sigcorp related or not)!
Just finished this absolute masterpiece. Not afraid to admit I bawled my eyes out on multiple occasions(the horse scene, the wedding, Johnny and River's first meeting on the hill, and ESPECIALLY the "Everything's Alright" segment...and SWEET JESUS, the ending). It didn't just hit me in the feels...it pulverized my feels over and over and over and over....just an all around beautiful experience. Thank you, Kan R. Gao. You, sir, have made something truly amazing, emotional, and just....beautiful.
I am a (no-life)lifelong gamer. I'm pushing 30 now. I've played hundreds, if not upwards of a thousand. If there were one single game I'd recommend other people experience, it's To The Moon.
Thank you for positively scarring me with your beautiful art.
It's been so many years and I still tear up when watching the trailer
The timeline of John's life always gets me going and teary.
to the moon lyrics
to the moon
throught the stars
there we`er find a place to be
close your eyes
all these wonders
in the dark we saw them shine
you and me
What song?
I just want to mirror what so many others are saying and say thank you for making such an incredible game. Years ago I got this in a Humble Bundle and told myself I would play it. Then a few weeks ago while I was ill I told myself I would play it and my God, I was absolutely taken aback by how amazing an experience this was. So much so that I immediately bought Finding Paradise and yes, I sobbed heavily at that too. My only regret is that I never played it sooner but it will forever be one of my favourite games of all time. Fantastic work!
This game was like a warm hug to the soul. It was beautiful without any fancy gimmicks or graphics.
An absolute masterpiece, literally the best story in any game ever.
Edit: Two years later and this is still the best story I've ever seen in a game.
Came back after seeing the trailer for Finding Paradise..I'm glad I did
So I begged my dad to let me get this on steam, he finally let me. I played it and sobbed so hard. I have never cried that hard over a video game before. This game is truly amazing. To The Moon is honestly one of my favorite games of all time.
I am so glad to see people still talking about this incredible game! I can not wait for the next installments!
As someone who is on the spectrum the first f few years of my life were hard. Just like River I was shunned for being different and weird. All I wanted was to be normal and have friends. But then in third grade my life changed. My teacher, Ms. Dodds, accepted me for who I was. Ever since then my life has just been getting better and better. I’ll be graduating high school next year and playing this game has helped me that I owe all my successes to the people around me. My parents, my teachers, my friends. To all the Johnnys out there. To everyone who helped spread awareness about my differences, like the development team of To The Moon.
Thank you kan
i got nostalgic listening to To The Moon soundtrack, and here i am crying watching this trailer
Just finished playing the game... I need to wrestle a bear now to regain my manliness. Very nice and touching story
Kokobella2000 Don't forget to jump through flaming hoops on a motorcycle while dodging flying sharks.
I learned something very important about myself with this game. Thank you so much for this
2021 still bring me tears.
I was crying during the whole last hour of the game. Such a strong and deep story is in this little game.
With the movie being made, just imagine how it would look just by following this trailer. I have high hopes of it being a masterpiece.
THIS game made me cry especially when I heard his heart beating at the end until it stopped.
Oh I always tear apart because of the heartbeat. Beautiful music, beautiful story. Best of all times.
I still can't even get half way through this trailer without crying...
Just learned this is finally getting turned into a feature length animated movie. I can't wait. No way this can be anything other than amazing.
IT IS?!
Hm... is it still in the works?
@@IcanSeeMyselfOutThanks Kan said in an interview 4 months ago that it's still ongoing, but has had several delays
The prelude to an absolute legend.
This game definitely caught me off-guard and made me feel all the feels.

Thank you, Freebird. This is one of my favorite games of all time.
FINISHED IT TODAY! Best Romance story i've ever played since Final Fantasy IX
Before "To the Moon" no game had ever made me cry and here I sit, shakily typing this post crying my eyes red. I feel the need to thank you for giving this to the world. With "To the Moon" not only have you given all those who experience it an auspiciously beautiful tale, but you have also given the Video Game medium its undeniable champion in its desire to be considered as art.
"To the Moon" is the medium's River, pulling it towards the stars and beyond. Thank you Kan Gao.
Best story ever produced, Kan thank you for the experience! Very moving and will never be topped!
"I always thought they were lighthouses" was somehow the part that stuck most with me in this game.
My favorite game, it's the best game i ever played...
When i come and watch this trailer, i aromatically crying
This game was perfect. And I mean that - amazing piano music (from a musician's point of view, beautiful way of using the music to not only accompany the game but to also shape it) and a perfect storyline. I cried, I'm not gonna be afraid to say that, because it was beautiful. Hats off. Well done. Well. Done.
Did anyone else get goosebumps just watching this?
Mitchell Bower yeah. It came at 2:59.
I hope this game becomes a huge success, it was an amazing adventure.
Never heard of this game until now. I like the music.
