I "interpreted" this as more like a porta potty... it's not ideal. it's enough to get you thru Also.. man.. I thought I was burning the midnight oil on this one!
I really like the truck campers. I like how there's plenty of sleeping space compared to other campers where the cabover can get a little tight. This is one of the funniest videos I've seen you do. Great work!
like others have said, I am really enjoying the Truck Camper content. It may not be something I am interested in buying, but the creativity of the setup of some of these is really cool.
Nice little truck camper and I totally agree with your dislikes (ie. Exposed bare trim, removable top storage that looks a bit lower quality), but while that bathroom is tiny, it’s preferable vs. no bathroom!
Glad some one is finally selling truck campers I have a one I love it great for having guests stay that's where they sleeping. And u need all the licenses and stuff rv needs really u don't need a truck I put mine on a. Trailer. Move it around with my side by side. Around our farm
Look at the Capri Cowboy. You can specify it with a 30” bed with a little sitting room. If you can’t handle the 5’ inside height, you can have them build it taller. I have no issue with the 5’ height in mine and my fuel economy only dropped by 2mpg.
Nice quality build, to small for me personal. I would like to see a truck camper design where they extend the back 2-3ft for a bigger bath. They could have it where it’s a fold out for travel. Think something like that vs buying a host or eagle cap, artic ect would be a better option. Another great review and great job representing us Michiganders. 😆
There is just no way I could purchase one of these. I also truly doubt it is a quality build. I have learned the hard way for sure. Thought I did good by not going to cheap with a Travel Lite or Palomino when I purchased a brand new 2020 Nu Camp Cirrus 720 truck camper for 30k. Well should have gone up to the brands that Josh just mentioned. My campers has been in the shop for 9 months total out of 30 months of ownership. No joke.
@Josh the RV Nerd at Bish's RV on a good note. Had to purchase something else while truck camper is away so went with a 2022 GEO PRO 19FD and I already noticed the better build quality of this unit. I know you like these so I figured to give credit where credit is due.
Travel Lite used to have a similar floor plan that only included a port-a-potty in the shower. I have the 770 SL version which is a bit shorter at 7' 7" and an area for a port-a-potty but not designed for a shower. It says it weighs 1350 lbs with propane and 20 gallons of water, which is interesting because it only has a 9 gallon tank. Just another expression of Travel Lite's quality.
I almost feel like this one would've been better as the potty + shower setup. The toilet felt like a square peg in a round hole I'm not a fan of "Cross Cheeking" it
@@JoshtheRVNerd I replaced my port-a-potty with a C-Head composting toilet. A lot more like a real toilet, but lighter without the odor and dumping issues. Thanks for your work Josh. It pretty much takes a PHD in Physics to get a real match for a truck camper and a 1/2 ton pickup. We know you have the PHD, just not sure what your specialty is.
Why aren't there any truck campers that have a party patio? Am I the only one that watches these and wished the entire back dropped down like a toy hauler??
From what I see your vehicle’s payload tops out at 1600lbs This weighs over 1700 empty So it don’t feel it would be a proper fit for your vehicle unfortunately
Nice looking camper. I don't have anything good to say about an over the cab camper. We had one for about a year and it was just way too much for my truck. I just wouldn't ever go back to a truck camper. These are prettier and lighter than ours was but still not a good experience. These may be different... That said, I would like to see your review on a Lance Camper.
Also, the pan that the toilet sits on, as you look in at it, the left rear corner leaks, where they have it boxed at an angle. Bad design, and still not fixed since I bought my 770RSL in 2018, looks the same. The weight of people standing on it, separates the pan from the boxed corner assembly, and water gets down in there. Mine developed black mold under the pan. Tried to fix it, but would require fiber glassing that corner boxed area. Beyond my abilities, so I traded it in on a new trailer in 20119
PLEASE PLEASE HELP!! We bought I believe it to be a 2008 or nine travel light camper that goes on the back of our Chevy S-10 truck. It’s fun! It’s just me and my husband…. somebody had taken the stove out. Which is no big deal. My question is where is the power plug/pigtail to connect lights and such????….. there is absolutely no place that we can find on this camper. Like if we wanted to run off our truck battery ( camper lights, ect)there’s nowhere to connect???
@@JoshtheRVNerd thx for your reply! We are assuming They never had one put in…….next question, lol…..is their a power station ( such as Jackery or Blueitti that could power the sm fridge & ac….??)…… we know nothing abt solar…..usually only camp a few days ( weekends a yr) so, don’t want to spend a CRAZY amt or spend $$$ on something that doesn’t have enough power……( small electronics are easy to charge , don’t know WHY they make a big deal abt charging those!! Hey Josh, I’ve been shopping for Toy Haulers and following your exceptional channel for about a year now..Today it just so happens I’m driving up to Michigan from Ky.. Might you be at Work today, I could stop by say hello, and see what’s on the lot??
Thanks Josh for taking the time today to show me a few really cool Rigs..Just having you listen to my story, and needs, sold me on working with Bish’s.. Well worth the trip up today from Ky!! TKS
The camper has been stored inside most of the time i dont use it camping , Even so the whole front corner under the bed is rotted out . the area around the front jack is starting to rot. i am doing a complete under bed rebuild after 4 years and 3 camping seasons. I have fixed the furnace the fan above the stove etc. When you start to take it apart you see the very poor construction and low quality insulation. if you ask me i will take these comments down as i respect your right to make a living. The dealer i bought from is closed.
Wow that.. sounds awful. TY for sharing And please don't take them down. I do my best to share what I see and feel good/bad. I ask folks do the same. When I made these videos on these models I had very little experience with them and could only go off what I see. I trust your feedback and ownership experience and appreciate you taking the time to share.
Sir I really like your videos! Wish you could put this camper on a CAT scale as my last pop up from that brand years ago was 800 pounds heavier empty than the weight plate. Truck camper manufacturers do not provide a real camper specific certification period. They really don't tell you the actual weight for the unit u bought.
The toilet should have been a cassette so you can move it out to shower. I was shocked with having 2 drawers in the kitchen but I didn’t see any clothes storage. So an outdoor shower would have been better so that tiny bathroom space could have been a closet, and maybe keep a broom and toiletries in there. But it did impressed me enough to go check the price. Also, I am learning from you because on Market Place there was a guy doing a tour from Bishs RV on a pretty nice and Big used toy hauler and he said load it and most half tons will pull it. I immediately laughed and thought to myself, no it won’t with all of the heavy weight in the back from motorcycles and a four wheeler. I’m probably wrong but I don’t think so because the back was also full of furniture with a large handmade beautiful live edge slab long coffee table and a identical but but smaller end table. This I guess was left by the previous owners. We only got a quick tour because he was working by himself and the walk-in and out peak at what seemed to be a basic bedroom like most RV’s at the other end of the trailer. He was really knowledgeable about showing all of the capabilities since it’s a toy hauler with a nice place to cook and sleep. You have us spoiled I guess.
The double window might be so the driver can see something from the rear view mirror? Since there is a crotch window under the bed in the dining area lol
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 No lasting damage, it seems. Your sense of humor is intact. Your solo reminded me of a cd I bought years ago called Toolbox Classics. Someone sampled power tools, played handsaws with a bow, used wrenches like a xylophone, etc & assembled them into popular classical music pieces. It's wild. I checked, & someone uploaded it to UA-cam. Maybe you could put a band together with the guys in the repair shop & play some classic rock that's truly heavy metal.
The problem I see with truck campers today is they are stuffing an elephant in a Volkswagen. Putting too much into a small space makes it counterproductive and is a no go for me. Just my opinion of course.
nice unit, but that bathroom is NOT a prime pooping postition... not even with door open and camping partner watching lol. but it is better than doing one of the S in the snow, or in front of camp neighbors... it is capable of accepting a log... at this point is about all that matters.... minor point of exactly how comfortable you are dropping it in the big picture with this type of unit, everything else is perfectly comfortable and functional, nice for us poorer types lol.... hmm although if you drop the log in the snow... it will bury itself my melting the snow it lays upon... than freezing over again... could save some black tank or whatever it got space.
TY for sharing your experience here. Would you be willing to share some details of your experiences so I can get a better idea of what to look for on these?
I would agree that most people who buy this just don’t want to get out at night and the tiny bath will do.
And being able to shower all the bug spray and sweat off you is a great thing. Especially if it's too cold to jump in a lake or river!
