Best looking interior I have seen. Minimalist and robust, super clean. The thermostat is a little too close to the heater vent (HVAC Guy Here). I would option for higher wattage solar array on the roof. I am aware the new Panels are generating near 700 watts each. A few of those and you could be off-grid without worries. I would also option a Through-the wall "window type" A/C unit. Many of these are 500+ btu and only use 450 watts.
a 700W solar panel will be around 94" x 51". The roof dimensions for a typical Total Composites 6.5" shell are approximately 100" L x 81" W. So, the panel could only be mounted East to West (width wise) and this would require the center-of-the-roof position of the MaxxAir Fan to be relocated to a less efficient placement at the front or back of the roof. The standard 250W panel can be optioned with a 2nd 250W panel for a total of 500W and they could be mounted 1 in front and 1 in back of the centrally-mounted fan.

We were able to see the Outpost 6.5 in-person. This rig is IMPRESSIVE. We've seen many, many truck campers--this is by far our favorite. We just bought a different Total Composites rig from this same builder.... had the Outpost 6.5 existed when we ordered our rig, the Outpost would have been our choice. Everything is just so well-thought-out. They tried out different cabinet manufacturers, they tried different floors, they tried different plumbing options, etc etc.... since they're enthusiasts themselves, they were able to actually test out the components, and it really shows. You might think I'm just a fan boy. That's only because I AM.
Very interested in a future larger model with a wet bath. At last a clean modern interior 🙌 Been following Total Composites, like their construction and energy efficiency. For future larger model a few requests: 1. Wet bath with toilet option like Tiny Separett. 2. At least 35 gallons of fresh water. 3. Increase EcoFlow battery capacity options. 4. Max air fan and a/c options
@@Outpost_Campers this is an impressive camper, if you offer an 8ft model with 40-60 gallons with a wetbath, a Wrappon Trekker Toilet Option and a hot water heater it would be very interesting…
Great truck camper. I would like if they put a shower pan instead of a storage hatch. Just make it bigger. Put a shower system in similar to the class B Story Teller camper van. This way it would stay within payload. With that water spraying inside by the door it can be a great option if people want to shower inside next to the toilet.
This is a sweet camper! Total composites is the only way to go, only downside would be the all white hospital room feeling. But the beautiful cabinets and furniture in this camper really break up that feel. 35k is a big chunk of change but when you consider what Bidenflation has done to the cost of everything this is actually a very reasonable price. I know everyone has their 2 cents to throw in and it's impossible to please everyone but it would be very cool if there was a pass thru window for trucks that have a rear sliding window.
We'll designed, competitively priced unit. Well done! The toilet box interior made water proof with a drain (to ground and/or grey tank) and convertible shower curtain would be a smart addition. Good job!
Overall a very impressive camper. My favorite feature are the storage units. Very nice, I really like having plenty of storage units. My concern though is weight. I recently bought a 2024 GMC 1500 with the Turbomax 4 cyl. engine. Truck has a 6' 7" bed. Payload rating is 1850 lbs. I know air bags and bigger leaf springs will prevent sag. My concern is engine performance. If your team ever puts this camper on a Chevy/GMC with the Turbomax four banger please post something. Thanks.

Really innovative design...I like the idea of the aluminum cabinets and the diesel heater. From my personal experience with truck campers for the past 20 years I think the inclusion of a larger water tank would be my first ask. Power could be easily augmented with a small honda generator if needed. I think this camper on a Ford SuperDuty Shortbed (6'9") would be idea whereby you could utilize the Ford's "old man step" for entry into the camper and still close up the tailgate. I'm assuming there is an electronic jack option to load and unload the camper?
Great job on the design and execution! I have a couple of concerns - lack of a gray tank and a hot water heater. I can probably hack not having hot water but inevitably we are going to have to pull into a full-service campground and I don't think the folks would like to see gray water draining on the ground. Do you see any mods that would allow a small gray tank for those situations?
This would be perfect if that closet area was converted into an actual bathroom with a door. I don't even need a full wetbath. Just a dedicated "toilet room"
You could achieve this with our new shower enclosure. Check out our Optional Add-Ons Guide to see if this would work for your needs! outpost-campers.com/optional-add-ons-guide/
Love the looks of this set up. Seems like a quality build. I am impressed with so many of its features. What is the grey tank capacity and where is the discharge for it? Can’t decide how important an air conditioner is. I love the max air fans. I like the composite and R value of this camper. This is definitely on my radar as a contender. I just hope this is something I can handle by myself as an older woman. Since there is no dealer close by to help.
Thank you for the interest! No internal grey water tank on the Outpost 6.5. The only internal tank is the 20 gallons of fresh water. There is a grey water discharge port on the drivers side of the camper that you can hook a standard hose to and run it to a bucket. Take a look at our Truck Fitment & Install Guide video to get an idea of the process of taking on and off. It is pretty easy and becomes a breeze after a few times of doing it.
Wonder how well this drives on some dirt roads. Like all campers kind of hesitant without knowing that review. Show us you driving off road with this beast!
Wow this is the WAY that all campers should be built....Not crappy, compressed wood, ill-fitting, poorly assembled junk that is being put out these days with non-existent "inspection" and driving off the lot means a list of 10 immediate grievances that must be resolved by leaving your camper over a month at the dealership while they resolve for parts. The so called new "boutique" camper builders, Scout, Kimbo and the likes of Outpost which uses this type of shell, are where it is at, and growing, except for Arctic Fox, Alaskan and Northern Lite, which have always been of higher quality (and of course price). Question is, will there be an 8 footer version? With a shower/toilet on one side and a closet/storage on the other to fill in the size and extend stays? $39,995? Cause there is nothing, after a long day hike or fishing in no man's land, like coming back to your camper in the middle of the cold wilderness to take a shower, cook a meal and lay down early for the evening while staying warm.
Thank you! We agree that the composite construction is superior for it's durability and performance over more traditional style construction methods. Great video, looks like an awesome camper! I was initially torn between the Kimbo and Scout and then saw a video suggestion for these from another channel and had to check this out. I am adding this to the contender/consideration list for when I get a truck camper. I am guessing this would work for a Toyota Tundra with a 6.5 bed?! Also, sounds like this would be a much closer location to check out and tour as I am only one state away, in Utah. I want something that is truly a 4 season camper and very durable/reliable. Looks high quality! Is any of it customizable or is this pretty much standard? (Ex. Blue cabinets/trim, without the cassette toilet if someone already has another one, etc.? Would be nice if there was a place to store an extra propane tank on the back for other uses outside since this is fully electric, but I suppose there could be some sort of after market configuration).
We just added exactly this! Check out our Optional Add-Ons Guide to learn more about this options as well as several others. outpost-campers.com/optional-add-ons-guide/
Thanks for the nice words and great question! There are portholes on the interior of the camper for accessing the front tie-downs. We'll be adding a video explaining this system soon!
Seeking a camper to you use deep into winter/ski season. Does this need to be winterized, or would the water tank be able to use year round when in use?
All plumbing and fittings are located within the heated and insulated space, so yes! You can absolutely use your plumbing during below freezing conditions, as long as you keep the interior space of the camper above freezing (which you'd likely be doing if you're camping in it!).
Does Outpost have plans for any Western Canada dealers in the near future? It is my understanding that the diesel heaters on the Scout Campers can be quite loud on the outside. Outpost's heaters must also be fairly loud? Thanks

The Outpost 6.5 is our only current production model. Keep an eye on our newsletter and social as we may be working on an 8' production model in the near future!
We saw minimal impact on gas mileage when we drove our show rig to several events earlier this summer. Driving from Bayfield to Denver area via mountain passes we averaged ~16.5 mpg on a 2023 Ford F150 with the 5.0 V8. The gas mileage impact will vary based on your truck and the type of driving you are doing.
Is every component shown standard and not considered an extra cost option? Total Composites also has these shells in 8' lengths and for flatbeds. Will you also offer these sizes?
Every component shown in this video is standard except the optional diesel heater. We will be offering more models of adventure ready composite campers in the future for different sized trucks. Stay tuned!
There is actually four ways to charge the Ecoflow system, I was told. The fourth is the ecoflow smart generator. Im just waiting on the model with the indoor shower, and im in.
You're correct! We don't mention the generator option as much as we try to make this completely generator and grid power independent, but it is an additional way to charge!

Beautiful camper. I will never understand why anybody puts those windows in anything. If there's any bugs outside at night, and you want to open or close your windows, you have to open the screen and let the bugs come in. Was definitely designed by somebody who never went camping wherever there were bugs.
I had these same type windows on a previous camper. Trick was to turn out all the lights. Drop the screen. Close the window. It would only take few a seconds too. I actually prefer these windows over the sliders. These windows can actually be opened when its raining.

I have a question about the fridge. How is the fridge vented?
It's almost perfect. I'll give it a 100% rating if it had an indoor foldable shower. Any chance you'll add one in the future?
We just added exactly this! Check out our Optional Add-Ons Guide to learn more about this options as well as several others.

Nicely designed. Is there a way to sleep 4 people (5 ft 7 and under) in this? Like on Fourwheelcamper has a slideout bed.
Awesome!
Too fancy for drifting
This is damn nice
If someone shuts the tailgate would you be locked in?
Very nice, subtle colors, functional! How does one reach and tighten/loosen the front internal strap tie downs?
Thanks for the nice words and great question! There are portholes on the interior of the camper for accessing the front tie-downs. We'll be adding a video explaining this system soon!
Just as a correction, don’t leave the windows cracked open when driving. They will rip off the camper. It is in the manual.
Any way to add a tv/cable hook up?
Thanks
Looks great as long as you don’t plan to full time in it
Our first customers are actually a couple living full time in their Outpost 6.5! Check out their adventures on UA-cam @FarOutStoke

Well done ❤ I love it. IS this véhicule Can cross thé Sahara? It must be expensif ?. Very great véhicule ✨💯😎
How does one get out of the camper when the tailgate is locked?
The passenger window above the dinette serves as an emergency exit!
@@Outpost_Campers It would be good if there was a small (lockable) opening in the main rear camper door where you could stick your hand out and open the tailgate (in case someone closes the tailgate on the person inside the camper)
What kind of entry points would mice potentially have in this camper?
Short of leaving the doors, windows and drain plug open, none. The composite construction is super durable and built to last.
How do you get in it if your truck doesn't have a step built into the Tailgate?
There are several aftermarket ladders available for trucks without built in steps.
What brand of induction cooktop do you use?
What is the standing height inside? I have a tall husband!
The standing height inside the camper is 77" even with the 5" subfloor storage! Learn more about the Outpost 6.5 over on our website!

Sick dude
We may have a buyer for our nucamp, so hopefully we will be contacting you soon.
We'll be here! Can't wait to get you in an Outpost!
How much costs ?
What do you have for flatbed trucks
Will the tailgate close on Dodge’s with the 6’ 4” bed?
The floor footprint of the Outpost 6.5 is exactly 76.5", so unfortunately on the Ram 6'4" bed you have to remove the tailgate.
You’re not staying off grid very long with only 20 gallons of water. Nice for shorty trucks but I would want a 8’ version with bigger water tanks, and a shower pan.
We are hoping to have an Outpost 8 to share in the next 12-14 moths!
Can the lithium ion battery be replaced with a lithium iron phosphate battery?
It is a lithium ion iron phosphate battery. That is what the EcoFlow batteries are.
Can i just buy the shell with windows for an 8ft F150 bed? Thanks.
The Outpost 6.5 is our only current production model. Keep an eye on our newsletter and social as we may be working on an 8' production model in the near future!
Doesn’t seem too aerodynamic. What’s the impact on the gas mileage?
We saw minimal impact on gas mileage when we drove our show rig to several events earlier this summer. Driving from Bayfield to Denver area via mountain passes we averaged ~16.5 mpg on a 2023 Ford F150 with the 5.0 V8. The gas mileage impact will vary based on your truck and the type of driving you are doing.
Any bigger campers in the works for a 8 foot bed
We will have a larger 8' slide in model coming out most likely in late 2025 or early 2026.
Water Falls Encyclopedia to add "shower" to the list.

Its a nice set up, but not 35k base price nice.
Love t.
I'm 6f 5i tall 255lbs..what's the height
77" interior height and bed sleeping length
Man $35,000 is a lot, it's like $10k more for a Lance with a full wet bath.
A stock F150 has a cargo capacity of 1500-2000 pounds depending on the year. This weighs 1500 dry. Hello?
This particular truck has a payload of around 2000 lbs. We always recommend you reference your truck's payload when selecting a truck camper.
@@Outpost_Campers - I just meant that camper, + occupants, and a few other things like tools or whatever and you are over that trucks weight limit. 🤓
@@Erin-Thor True true! Get 2 people who weighs 200lbs each and their personal items, food etc, it's gonna have quite a bit of weight there.
@@Outpost_Campers -- I've checked out the web site, and these interest me. But... I don't see any jacks. How do you get it on and off without jacks on the camper?
@@Erin-Thor it comes standard with 4 manual camper jacks. They're removable if you choose to take them off the camper, as we've done in this video.
Great truck camper! Can I see a sample if I visit your factory?
absolutely! Come visit us! We'll also be at the Overland Expo Mountain West August 23-25 in Loveland, CO
@@Outpost_Campers will you be at Overland Expo East in Virginia by any chance?
@@drewdowns3618 Unfortunately we won't be able to make that one. We are going to have a dealer in Montreal soon and you'll be able to view units there! A lot closer than Colorado if you're on the East Coast.
@@Outpost_Campers This is a very good opportunity, but unfortunately I am busy and don’t have time to come. I may have time to come in September or October. I live in Texas. Do you have a dealer in or near Texas? Can you set up a dealer?
34k for these tinny things is wild the 4 season thing is irrelevant.
Whether it's 4 season or not is very much relevant!
Can’t even substitute an upgraded queen sized mattress since it isn’t a “ standard “ size mattress ? $35,000.00 ?
I’m out .
You must have missed the part where this is specifically designed to fit a 6.5 ft truck bed with the tail gate up.
@@razorwired130
You must have “ missed “ the point of $35,000.00 to get an UNCOMFORTABLE NIGHT’S sleep . You can do a lot better with that amount of cash - MUCH BETTER .
@@rudeawakening3833 - you still don't get it. Find a TRUCK CAMPER that will fit in a 6.5 ft truck bed with the tailgate closed, with a level of amenities that is even close to the Outback 6.5. We are waiting for your response. SMH.
@@razorwired130
I was impressed with all of the engineering , actually . But that does not justify a $35 k price for an uncomfortable night’s sleep . I wish the company well , I just feel that it shot itself in the foot on this . Nobody would have faulted them for removing the tailgate and even allowing the camper to extend a bit past the end of the bed .
There comes a point of the old saying -
“ too much of anything is no good “ .
Just because you try and squeeze so much in such a small space it gets to the point of yes you accomplished this but at what value for the customer .
I love the idea of downsizing a home . But a “ 350 square foot house “ just isn’t worth thinking that you made a wise design even though you
“ accomplished “ the engineering .
They had and did some outstanding design ideas that I admired . I’ve been going to R/V shows since the late 1960’s , with my Dad . I hope I didn’t come across disrespectful .
35k is absolutely insane for a slide in. These used to be cheap, this is more than a full size camper and doesn't even have a bathroom
Actually, given the relatively sparse truck camper market, the price for this rig is fair.
No indoor shower 🤦🏼♀️
There is an option for a drop down indoor shower coming soon!
Everyone out….I gotta poop….
