I’d recommend both four wheel camper and scout campers before kimbo. Also both made in America, cheaper by thousands and higher build quality. Attention to detail in camper builds is vital and the production line at kimbo doesn’t put time or effort in to match the price they’re charging..

@@-ellimist- yes! I worked as a design engineer at Kimbo and found certain aspects of the manufacturing line to be suspect….Too many rivets… equals a lot of chances for leaks. I lived in a four wheel camper for over 4 months on the road at one time and my parents decided to buy a scout camper personally. So lots of experience with all different styles of camper. I’d recommend the 4wheel for the ease of use, price point and accessories. The integration between the battery and the car is key and scout doesn’t offer that and I don’t think Kimbo does either. I know people don't really know about Kimbo but these campers are absolutely amazing they are priced pretty good for truck bed campers also. Only reason I didn't buy one is the fact of not having a sufficient ability to run a/c through the night without a generator. Thank you for your service to this great nation of ours, from one Veteran to another. I served in the U.S. Navy as a Corpsman, and understand the sacrifice required. I’ve been thinking about either doing a van conversion or getting a miniature truck bed camper like this one. This is actually one of the more complete truck bed campers I’ve seen (with the exception of a toilet, which I guess you can just purchase a composting type of portal one. Since she has a small window unit, I’m assuming she would have to turn on the engine to run. Possibly have a high capacity, second alternator for that? I don’t think she could create enough solar power to run it. All and all, really cool camper. I enjoy watching your UA-cam videos.

First of all thank you for your service to our great country. Secondly the slide in camper looks amazing and would love to have that. Also wouldn't think twice about camping with you
Toyota makes an add-on step on the side of the truck and being in my 60s it helps. It pulls out with your foot and makes it easy to get into the camper.
You can actually reach out the back window and unlatch the tail gate, but the other 2 windows, side and fron, you could also exit. You wont get trapped if some joker shuts the tail gate.
I'm so glad you mentioned this because I was wondering the same thing. Not even just with this camper but with all campers that the door opens to the outside I've always wondered okay what if somebody blocks the door. Now I understand that there are many ways to deal with that. What a awesome freaking camper and what an awesome amazing person she is!

Wet bath? cassette toilet at the very least? A huge issue with truck campers is the inability to leave the campsite without leaving the rig. A camper van, B class, C class or A class allow you to safely remove yourself from a situation without setting foot outside, whether it's a four or two footed problem.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE JESSE! THANK YOU FOR YOUR TOUR OF YOU LOVELY HOME ON WHEELS! PLEASE POST A PIC OF YOUR NEW WHEELHOUSE, once you get to your Jersey home and feel the need for WHEELS.
This looks awesome. How do you prevent someone raising the tailgate while you are in the camper? Is there an alternate exit? I'm too big to go through that door window.

Thank you for your service and for the tour. For a used truck camper, though, 35g is a steep tag. Brand new camper by several quality manufacturers cost less. You might wanna rethink that. I wish you the best on your next chapter!
Looks okay, okay presentation, thank you for your service. A couple of things I may have missed. 1. where and how do you actually cook? Kitchen usually implies a space for cooking. 2. Where and how do you use the toilet? For me it would be inconvenient to run to a campground restroom or have to find a restroom while traveling.
Awesome testimony love that camper. One day I to plan to have a home on wheels. I own my home, but I'm passing it down to my daughter and son the property is big so there's lots of room. Good luck with your new chapter and journey through life be safe and God bless...
Her camper is beautiful decorations. But she got her house. Jesse is selling her RV to public. It’s very cool interior with everything. But it doesn’t have the stove and microwave. I think you’ll add “Coleman” stuff from any stores. You’ll also add small propane for stove. I hope Jesse would be appreciate to sell her favorite camper soon. It’s expensive including pick up truck 🛻
The "air pockets" you point out at 4:12 are nothing more than external braces to stiffen the floor of the overhead part of the camper. It's a very easy solution instead of beefing up the internal structure of the camper. It won't make a bit of difference to the aerodynamics of the rig.

One of these Kimbo's in Madison, WI is ME! Used to have it on a 2016 Tacoma and now have it on a 2015 Tundra. I'm #67 and I'm not selling any time soon. The quality is there.
@@carriemainquist757 Saw one early summer 2021 southbound on 151 between Sun Prairie and Madison. And followed one for a while this past June eastbound on the Beltline between John Nolen and the Yahara River. Both had For Sale signs.
Jesse thank you for your service. Your camper is cool. And so are you . Good luck with all your future endeavors

I love this go us solo female vanners. Everything she needs is there.
It’s such a great option
This would be a cool empty nester option. But I have a few more years before my kids are out of the house.

I love the built in shower. I didn't see a toilet. Did I miss it? If there isn't one I would think you could put a portable toilet in the shower and just move it out when you shower. No matter what it's an awesome camper. With my knees like they are I wouldn't be able to get in it unfortunately LOL but I love it
I'm sure it's there somewhere lol

kimbo needs to move the plug for the power to right next to where the Tacoma has its outlet. Seems like if they built it specifically for this truck, they should have thought about this. cool camper though
Good suggestion

This was a great breakdown. My first time hearing of a KIMBO.
Great 👍
This camper is badass. Love it
Glad you think so
First and foremost, thank you for your service, Jesse. Nice camper but I'll pick the Scout over the Kimbo. The Scout just seem to be more refine and looks roomier and they are both very competitively priced. Thanks for the tour, I enjoy the video.

Also wouldn't think twice about camping with you
I would have liked to see how she gets in it -or out. Does she use a small step ladder? Thanks Jesse for the tour. Thanks Patrick!
When I met her she just jumped in and out however she does have a small step
Toyota makes an add-on step on the side of the truck and being in my 60s it helps. It pulls out with your foot and makes it easy to get into the camper.
Jesse, good for you living your dream, love your sweet dogs, thanks for posting
I was wondering how you would get out if someone closed the tailgate while you where in it but then I seen the large window up front.👌🏾
That was my thought.
You can actually reach out the back window and unlatch the tail gate, but the other 2 windows, side and fron, you could also exit. You wont get trapped if some joker shuts the tail gate.
@@carriemainquist757 good cuz i dont like being in spaces i cant get out...i panic

What kind of mpg do you get on the interstate on cruise? I like that setup
I believe she told me 12mpg
We have a kimbo on a '22 Tacoma SR (4x4) and have gotten between 17 and 19mpg. I was shocked at how good we've done!
THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE JESSE! THANK YOU FOR YOUR TOUR OF YOU LOVELY HOME ON WHEELS! PLEASE POST A PIC OF YOUR NEW WHEELHOUSE, once you get to your Jersey home and feel the need for WHEELS.
Thanks Gracie
For sale? She needs to keep that. Maybe even get a second one to bury 10ft under ground. Shelter shelter shelter
Good idea
😂😂😂😂
Kimbo Truck Camper. Cool option. Good narrative style. Keep producing. Well done.
Thanks, will do!
This looks awesome. How do you prevent someone raising the tailgate while you are in the camper? Is there an alternate exit? I'm too big to go through that door window.
It’s okay, you just open the window, reach down and then open it

Hi patrick. This is the best camper truck set up ive ever seen. How beautiful. How tall is the camper.

Super cool camper, but where do you go to the bathroom
She had a portable potty
Never saw one of those and I live in Washington state. Thanks for showing ev1 Kimbo.
Glad you found this channel. Many more camper tours here
Is this camper still for sale and can you please give me her contact information please and thank you
The contact information is in the description

Women in the military are the best. She is gorgeous! Very cool Camper!
Glad you like the tour
Thank you for your service and for the tour. For a used truck camper, though, 35g is a steep tag. Brand new camper by several quality manufacturers cost less. You might wanna rethink that. I wish you the best on your next chapter!
Very cool!
That bad boy rocks, like I like her style.. salute👍💯🤟
Yes 🙌🏼
Looks okay, okay presentation, thank you for your service. A couple of things I may have missed. 1. where and how do you actually cook? Kitchen usually implies a space for cooking. 2. Where and how do you use the toilet? For me it would be inconvenient to run to a campground restroom or have to find a restroom while traveling.
Before she was selling it, she had a lot more inside it like a portable cooktop and portable toilet.
Awesome testimony love that camper. One day I to plan to have a home on wheels. I own my home, but I'm passing it down to my daughter and son the property is big so there's lots of room.
Good luck with your new chapter and journey through life be safe and God bless...
Best of luck!
It will be a quick sale
Best designed truck camper I have ever seen. Good luck with your next chapter in life.
Thanks, you too!
This changed my mind on campers.
In what way?
The "air pockets" you point out at 4:12 are nothing more than external braces to stiffen the floor of the overhead part of the camper. It's a very easy solution instead of beefing up the internal structure of the camper. It won't make a bit of difference to the aerodynamics of the rig.
They prevent a humming noise that the design had prior to installation
The Kimbo has to be one of the smartest and coolest truck camper designs in history.
Agreed 👍🏽
