  • Is your hair feeling lifeless, undefined or are your strands just so thin and fragile? Then this DIY Ayurvedic Hair Mask is for you. Seriously it really is and I can guarantee you're going to love it.
The herbs in this video that will be used are:
-Zizyphus aka Sedr powder which improves hair strand thickness, hair volume (for straight hair), curl definition through curl restoration, increases chine and strengthens the hair strands
-Brahmi is amazing because it nourishes the scalp, strengthens the blood vessels which stimulate hair growth
-Bhringraj will heal your scalp by reducing inflammation, is antifungal and antibacterial and as a bonus will prevent premature greying
-Shikakai is a really good natural hair cleanser that has saponins, it's antioxidant and curbs hair loss
As a whole when placed together this recipe is absolutely amazing for your hair and also creates a calming, soothing self care experience. Really, these herbs are known for having a calming affect, reducing stress and promoting a better nights rest, especially brahmi.
In this recipe we mixed the following quantities:
    -100 grams of Zizyphus Powder
    -2 tsp of Brahmi Powder
    -2 tsp of Bhringraj Powder
    -4 tsp of Shikakai Powder
-0.5 liters of aloe vera juice (which is about 2 cups of aloe vera juice)
I allowed this recipe to rest for about 30 minutes (and you may do so even for up to one hour). Use as needed and if you have leftovers, freeze it and you can use it next time.
Please note freezing is much better. The fridge does not stop bacteria from getting to your mix like the freezer can protect it.
Apply it to clean or dirty hair as this is a cleansing mask and can be used as a pre-poo. Massage gently into your scalp and ensure it reaches your scalp, root and ends. Do not over manipulate (avoid tangling your hair strands). Let it sit in your hair for about 10-15 minutes and then rinse out using our Cleansing CoWash. This will help add back moisture and detangle the hair.
Once finished, make sure to moisturize while hair is damp, then dry and style as usual. You may also deep condition after doing this cleansing mask if your hair needs more moisture using our Sweet Honey Hair Nourisher or our Cocoveda Hair Masque.

@@dewhitneyashford287 Hiii and HNY!!! I recently made a mix with Zizyphus, a little aloe powder and a little amla powder mix it with warm water. I let it sit for a bit to allow the herbs to fully hydrate. While that was happening, I applied coconut oil to my hair first, then the mask and let it set overnight. Rinsed out, shampooed, deep conditioner and styled. Strands felt strong, moisturized and hair felt fuller. TBH, it was my first time doing it with coconut oil. I have FINE, high porosity strands, medium density and I guess 4a/b/c (crown area) hair. I hope this helps and that this herbs is useful for your strands. My hair LOVES it!

    • @HennaSooq

I haven't personally gotten it into my eyes but I would think any herbs in your eyes is not fun. It's definitely important to wash it out properly with your head tilted back or in a mermaid soak. Just be careful. It's like shampoo too, that can hurt the eyes too. I'm sure nut powders can be very scratchy like amla as well.
