    Blows my mind how many people drive with their doors unlocked. Hell, don't most cars auto lock now when the car moves over a certain speed? I still drive a 2012 and mine does.

      Some vehicles automatically unlock when put in park, which I think is what we are seeing.

      Many cars automatically unlock the doors in an event of an accident. So watch out if someone crashes into yours on purpose.

      Beyond astonishing, and it happens again when the van couldnt move and they dont surround the vehicle. It is california people we would need therapy if we upset the perp.

      LET him out is exactly correct. The prowl car should have kept its bumper on his instead of letting him move it progressively back. And then the pursuit ended, but not one cop got within 10 feet of the vehicle, so the driver got out and ran to find another car, which he did successfully.

There was a lot happening all at once with a car head on, sirens, officers on side, police cars chasing, etc. When you’re driving, you have seconds to assess all of this while everyone’s suddenly shifting, slowing, trying to get out of the way & some got caught. There are plenty of times I would agree with you on people and their distracted driving But in this case, it was a desperate & frustrated decision for the cops to throw the spikes with all of these vehicles coming.

    I can’t believe they had him TRAPPED into a parking space and LET him push the cop car out of the way while the cop did nothing! They allowed him to get out. Disgusting. Why didn’t they have any of those spiked things they could’ve thrown behind his van? Why didn’t the cop get out with guns drawn? We know it was only one guy in there they could’ve taken him out. They allowed him to endanger so many more people, it’s truly disgusting. completely incompetent.

      @@castillo33brandon it was absolutely inexcusable how they allowed him to escape and endanger so many lives. Either the cops are at fault, or the policy-makers are at fault, because this was an obvious failure of an apprehension. So many innocent bystanders could have died from police incompetence here. You can't defend it.

      Yeah, he would not have made it out of that spot if it had been me in that patrol car. Whether being blocked in by my car, or him getting a lead injection when trying to run me or the car over, he would have been done with that stupidity.
      This was ALL bad communication and pussy cops. There were officers in the car that he almost hit head on that jumped out and RAN AWAY to avoid being in the car if he hit it.

      oh i agree - was stunned. they had the van pinned but they let him simply push their car away. then he's stuck burning the wheel on the road. one cop never even approaches the driver. he runs off and steals another truck. and so on. what's really tragic is that MORE people got hurt as the cops refused to END it. until it ended itself. they were making no input into it. i am not sure what i was seeing - what policy was unfolding.

    The cops in WA. State mistakenly deployed spike strips and my buddy ran over them. Flattened all 4 tires. After 5 years and he still wasn't reimbersed. He just gave up.

      Best part, dude that did have his door locked. He had an open window, that's cool. Gave him time to recognize what was happening when the POS reached in and opened his door anyway. Dude then drives off full throttle. Sweet, someone with a brain! Oh wait...moron stops and lets himself get yanked out of the car anyway. WTF?!? Dude tries my outside handle, then goes inside handle, opens the door? Yeah, he better let go of the car really f'ing quick. In my daily beater? He's as good as dead if he doesn't. He is going to eat the next very hard object I can graze at speed. Car, sign, guardrail, wall (in that one apparently a tunnel was right ahead), or whatever else I can sideswipe and wipe the shit off the side of the car. In the Supra? Probably still as good as dead if he can hang on under full throttle. At that point, it'd just become a game of "how fast can I go with a piece of shit stuck to the side of the car!?"

      Wait, you want the popo to have more power?! Even more than they already have? They already get away with murder, theft just to name a few. They rarely get punished, get preferential treatment, keep their jobs and pensions whilst committing crimes and so much more! They have military equipment, and don’t even follow the law and get rewarded for it! It’s already a police state, can we have a few more years before the tyranny actually starts? As a fledgeling criminal the best career you could dream of is to join the police enforcement. They can legally hide their crimes.

      That van was stuck for long enough that it was clear he wasn't going anywhere and there was an opportunity to run up to the door and yank him out instead they let him push the van to its limits until it broke down and then he got out the passenger side and ran stole a family's truck and caused a ton more damage and got shot up when he could have avoided all of that

    Arkansas State cops would have brought the 3rd chase to an end 10min after it started, by slamming head on into him. Them some crazy ass cops. But they get the job done. fast and with minimal exposure to the community as possible.

      The thing is that maybe in Arkansas doesn't have a big traffic jam as southern California, this means if police officers do a maneuver towards the suspect in a tight and busy street, civilians can result harmful or even killed. Plus im guessing over the freeways/highways have more open space like grass in between both directions. Instead over here in south California or major cities that just have one cement barrier. However, there was some parts that police have the space and time to really block him.

    The commentator of Skymap7 was much fun just listening to his play by play description of the first video with the guy trying to get away from Police, and his antics in doing so!       I think what annoyed me the most, dude that drove off with the POS hanging from his car. He then STOPS. Like...WTF. Nah, at that point I am going to accelerate like hell. He said tunnel? Cool...there's a wall to use to peel him off the side of the car. Something like that, dude better let go fast. The next hard object I can graze that dude is going to eat. Car, guardrail, wall, sign...no jury in the world would convict someone for defending themselves in that scenario.

      Pretty sure depends on situation, if police hits you due to their mistake in driving (not a forced hit due to an outside factor) they need to cover the expenses.
      If it was an unavoidable hit or the person running hit them then you would have either sue the person directly (good luck with that) or depending on your policy your insurance would have to pay some too.

      It at least ought to come all out of the pockets of Defense Counsel; and while we're at it, arrest, prosecute, then imprison as many of the turd's relatives as we can. After the successful ambush of Bonnie & Clyde, Clyde's mother was immediately arrested and had to serve 5 years at the infamous Huntsville Women's Facility. She did not get ANY trial, as per the express instructions of the Texas Governor's and Attorney General's Offices. "Let this serve as harsh warning." She soon died a very broken woman soon after release. Defense Counsel ought not try ANY tricks during Trial; that should be automatic DISBARMENT.

    That last chase, especially the part where he steals the van, proves that cops need to prove they have a little more intelligence than just being able to write their own names in a recognizable way, before they can get hired. Like, that was just embarrassing.

    In the last video they have 10’s of times to better ram the dude but instead 50 minutes later, rear ending a full size truck that essentially did nothing. Good “By the book work” LAPD.

    It BLOWS my mind that people don't lock their doors as soon as they get in their vehicle. I trained myself to do that so I do it automatically, I don't even think about it.

      most vehicles auto unlock driver side if you put it on park.. I am sure that's what's happening.. in one instance, the window was rolled down and the guy reached in and unlocked the door himself.

      @@tammyhodges4447 my new and old one unlocks as soon as it’s parked. My old one is from 2007. I think newer vehicles implement this for convenience but I guess there are some downsides to that.

      @@Rookblunder That is if you have electronic door locks' Sad to say I didn't get electronic door locks on my truck and periodically forget to lock the drivers door. However, I don't live in California, I do have CWL, and a 9mm next to my seatbelt release in addition to the .380 in my pocket . I can guarantee you if someone tries to car jack me, I will not hesitate to use deadly force immediately.

    The third and final chase, an absolute indictment for the cops.
    Hundreds of cops and they follow for minutes and can't stop the guy.
    and at the end everyone can fire the whole magazine or the drum for the guy.
    Sad, really sad and brutal.
    The reporter is awesome too... he gets kicked out every time he sees dangerous scenes, and he's really happy when there's more to come.
    Only ratings bring in the money.

      They guy that you are talking about was detained because he "refused to get out of the line of fire". He wasn't charged with anything or actually arrested and later said he was trying to get his family out of the car.

      he returned fire because the cops were accidentally shooting at him and he thought the bad guy was shooting at him. that's because the cops in the 3rd chase were really bad all the way around.

    That last chase was a complete FAILURE of law enforcement to keep citizens safe. How could it possibly be protocol to allow the hijacker to drive away at high speeds through heavy traffic while they just hang back and wait for him to run out of gas? Fire everyone involved in policymaking/policing in that district.
