Fun fact: Thriller is the only music video inducted into the National Film Registry, as "culturally, historically or aesthetically significant". This video changed music videos forever👑❤️👏🏾
When Thriller premiered, the world literally came to a screeching halt as everyone gathered around their TVs to watch this. I heard that in restaurants/bars that had televisions, even the kitchen staff came out to watch.
Our parents woke us up at midnight and allowed to watch this video when it premiered on a Friday night at 11:59 I believe. Watched on 13 inch tv with hanger and best moment of my 12 year old life at that time.
I feel like it's kind of impossible to convey just how huge Michael Jackson was in his heyday. It was beyond "pop star"; he was like a force of nature.
You're wrong. Michael was the pioneer of music videos. He called them short films that had a beginning, middle and end. He also was the first artist with backup dancers behind him. He was a visionary who never believed in mediocrity
He made short films not music vids...amazing artist he was. He was the perfect entertainer with all skills and abilities. Dancing skills, vocal skills, perfect dancer body,he was charismatic, powerful, beautiful on screen and on stage..he was a visionary artist who was music itself. Take a bow of Him...shame on media.
FUN FACT: Michael Jackson watched the John Landis movie "An American Werewolf In London" and loved it! It was a horror comedy. Also he loved the makeup by Rick Baker. So Michael got Rick Baker to make Michael a werewolf and a Zombie.Yes and Michael got the director of that movie, John Landis, to direct his music video "Thriller"
There is a before and after this masterpiece, changed forever the way who singers made his videoclips, this videoclip changed everything, the greatest album of all time.
OK. I am officially on your Michael Jackson experience journey train , keep em coming! Please do Michael Jackson Stranger In Moscow! These videos are really making me happy, you guys are really lovely ❤️
This is 1982,83 ,he spent a million dollars on this video hired a real movie producer and director with all the technology now people have no imagination or real passion for their own work
Been waiting for this!! “Beat it” is a wonderful music video as well. And about the HD version....yes they did an IMAX HD version a few years ago. Was released in theaters too
On Halloween 2016, my friends and I were walking around looking for a job in Hollywood. We came across this local record store almost in a hidden mini mall on Hollywood Blvd. We start to talk to the owner about musicians he’s worked with. Then, an older, super beautiful African-Americans walks in. The man freezes up and leaves us to go talk to her with an “excuse me young bloods.” He goes to talk to her and talk about the musicians and people they’ve worked with. The man at one point says “Yeah. He worked on Thriller.” And she says “Well I know he worked on Thriller!” A few minutes later he sits back down and apologizes for leaving us so abruptly with a “Sorry gentleman, when I see someone I’m friends with on Facebook I gotta say hi. Y’all know who that is right?” We reply “No.” “That’s Ola Ray. Most famous for the girlfriend on Thriller.” We could not believe it. It was really her. So blessed to hear her stories of working on Thriller and with Michael. Rest In Peace to the greatest of all-time and thank you Ola for those stories.
This video always reminded me of a movie starring Michael Landon(Little House on the Prairie)…Movie was called “I was a Teenage Werewolf “. RIP MJ and Vincent.
Was 9 years old when this was released.... 1982.... Ground breaking in music video's and quite scary at the time for a 9 year old.... LOL.... Loved the 80's.
I was only three years older than you even though we didn’t know it at the time we were helping Michael making his path to superstar status and partaking in music history yet to be made
Girl you have to react to some of mike’s stuff with the Jackson 5/ the Jackson’s! I recommend their performance of forever came today in the Carol Burnett show, and their Ed Sullivan performance in 1969. Both absolute gold
I just did a marathon of your MJ reactions and I am loving them all! 😍 Thank you for your love to him. 🥰 Also, don't forget to do a reaction video on his iconic VMA 1995 Performance! 🤩
Only Michael Jackson can put out a iconic video filled with zombies, werewolves and all types of horror in DECEMBER when we're supposed to be playing xmas music 🤣. This masterpiece was officially released on Dec 2nd
Notice on the Marquee name *Vincent Price* he did the "Grave yard Rap" and came out of the crypt in zombie make up. he was a Legend of horror films back in the day and was delighted to work on this project with Michael. *FUN FACT:* the fat bald zombie who appears in the back at the beginning and end of the dance number is a nod to the Wrestler-turned-Actor *TOR JOHNSON* who was a zombie from the movie *Plan Nine From Outer Space Directed by Ed Wood staring Bela Lugosi and "Vampira"* (Legosi died three quarters through the filming and was replaced by Director's Blond Dentest who had to hold the cape in front of his face during filming.) the house was similar to the one in *NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD* when all the Zombies broke in through the windows. Lots of Easter Eggs for Movie Buffs in this Video. Rick Baker, the practical SPFX artist for An American Werewolf in London turned Michael into Not A Werewolf, But *A Werecat.* thus the Long pointy ears, whiskers and cat claws on the hands *John Landis, who Directed American Werewolf in London* Agreed To Direct this short film The end scene with Vincent Price was pure Magic!
The dance is so sick !! Omg lv it !! And making MJ a zombie was too awesome !! So good.. I remember watching it for the first time when I was young .. I was so scared !! Lol 😂 and still scared every time I watched it ..
When I was kid the build up to his new videos/mini movies were huge on MTV. It was like waiting for a marvel summer block buster trailer release. Any 80s kid who says they are not a MJ fan in some form is a damn liar, he was the 80s.
Best 5 dance scenes of all time: Thriller zombie dance, final dance in Dirty Dancing, Olive's pageant dance in Little Miss Snnshine, Napoleon Dynamite and final scene in original Footloose movie..
"Any similarity to actual events or persons living, dead (OR UNDEAD) is purely coincidental" xDDDD Anytime I see that sentence, I think it's funny, and I can't help but laugh at it
There's a documentary Michael made of the making of the thriller music video. If you ever need something to watch, I recommend it. The whole process of the werewolf makeup took him hours to put on, it's crazy. The documentary is called Making Of Thriller (1983).
Love your reaction one of my favorite Michael Jackson videos can i point out something in your video. At around 10:34/10:35 the zombie that comes out the crypt is monster makeup artist Rick Backer. Another favorite Michael Jackson video I recommend to watch is his cover of The Beatles Come Together and you should also check out the video for The Jacksons Can You Feel It. Also love the different album covers in the background they look awesome especially as you have one of my all time favorites Elton John Goodbye Yellow Brick Road.
I was 13 when Thriller video came out. Was a huge deal. Aired for first time on HBO at 8pm..well fo me in Weastern NY eastern time. We all sat to watch..everyone in world did!!!

You guys should react to 'Remember The Time' and 'The Way You Make Me Feel/Man In The Mirror' live at the Grammys. You won't be disappointed with either.
When this video came out it was so special. Often someone would just yell down the street they're getting ready to show Thriller. Kids would scatter trying to make it to the nearest house.
Sorry if it’s been suggested, and maybe it wouldn’t be appropriate for the channel, but even just for yourselves - you guys should watch the Making of Thriller!!! 😍 Unfortunately, this is the quality of the video. It is very dark :( There was a high def restored version shown in i THINK imax theatres quite a few years ago, and there is a bit of footage of that event out there that is STUNNING - but as of yet, no way for us to watch it 😭
Fun fact: Thriller is the only music video inducted into the National Film Registry, as "culturally, historically or aesthetically significant". This video changed music videos forever👑❤️👏🏾

Fact ... You can go anywhere in the world and everyone is going to know who the owner of that jacket is ..PERIOD
