My name is Asan and I am 46 years old, I live in Kyrgyzstan. In June of this year, I was admitted to the hospital in a serious condition, I was diagnosed with delilitative cardiomyopathy. They prescribed treatment. So for some time I managed to improve my performance, nutrition, since I'm a vegan for 8 years, gymnastics breathing exercises. I have fasted a couple of times. I try to eat a lot of greens, I even taste unfamiliar greens from the garden, if not bitter, then I eat. Today I made a repeated echocardiogram, the results are very good, there is a great hope for improvement in the condition.
The countries that eat more beef have a higher rate of Alzheimer's Disease...mad cow disease is a fairly well understood process, while Alzheimer's with its plaques and tangles is not a well understood process. Also look at how much money is being poured into Alzheimer's research -- if it was simply caused by mad cow prions,Alzheimer's also involves prions--the evidence that points in this direction is growing. And suppose that Alzheimer's is also associated with tainted meat. This conclusion seems far-fetched--at first. In this compelling book, the authors come to a frightening conclusion about our seemingly insatiable hunger for hamburgers. Destined to provoke heated argument, this book is definitely food for thought,Factory farming today is one the most irresponsible methods of processing animal flesh and with the incredible rise of Alzheimer's cases within the last 100 years, this book makes a great medical argument for connecting the two together. As another reviewer warned, reading this may change the way you eat so be ready to throw out the ground beef in your fridge. This book also explains the process of someone who has Alzheimer's and the rapid pace that they lose their cognitive and motor functions. It's truly a horrible, horrible disease and certainly gave me a greater understanding for those whose family members suffer from it. Wow. I didn't need to watch this - I don't have any chronic conditions and I eat this way, and I've read about all this before - but I was glued to this interview and loved it. What a fantastic communicator. So many thanks for this opportunity to hear him speak about this.
I want so badly to see the findings of Dr Ornish’s Alzheimer’s studies. Thank goodness for this man and the other plant based doctors for sharing their research, and giving us the knowledge to take control of our health.
Gratitude to PCRM from India 🇮🇳. UA-cam is a gr8 platform where one can be updated with what is happening around the globe. Chuck, you bring legends and doyens like dr.Ornish ,dr. Neal Barnard....so much love, respect to your entire team.
Thank you, Dr. Ornish (and the Physician's Committee) soooo verrrrry much! Knowledge is power and you are imparting knowledge--the knowledge we can apply in our daily lives one day at a time to make healthy, positive lifestyle change...You are saving lives. 👏
Dr. Ornish is so knowledgeable and generous. It's like a tractor beam going right into my brain. I went plant-based in July 2022, and my mental state at first was about all that I was going to have to give up. I had been a vegetarian (wishy-washy), so the meat wasn't the big change, it was dairy! I ate it all even drinking buttermilk! With only a few exceptions like milk in my coffee, or finding out that one scone has 1/8 of an egg in it for the 8-scone recipe and going ahead and buying it, oh, and the cheesecake over the holidays, I've done well. I'm glad Dean Ornish talked about being consistent but not getting down on yourself. Darn! I was thinking about starting a Vegan Confession group. Haha!
I had the honor of meeting Dr. Ornish in person couple years ago. I forgot to ask if nuts are too high in fat to be included in a low-fat plant-based diet. I have BMI of 19, but have found that I lose too much weight if I don’t eat nuts. Thank you for everything you’ve contributed over many years.
I am an ardent admirer of Dr. Dean Ornish , and applying and studying his philosophy of love to our day to day life style, with amazing results. I wish to talk to him and meet him as early as possible .
It's incredible to know that a bodybuilder named Nimai Delgado grew up as a vegetarian, then became vegan, and is able to maintain a healthy physique on a plant based diet.

Great interview, Chuck. Well done! Dr Ornish is a real blessing to the world. He simplifies these difficult science backed and evidence based principles and concepts into simple messages all can understand and share! Thanks Dr Ornish.
Dr Ornish is a great champion among the many lifesaving champions on the Exam Room. And…Chuck, you too are a champion and you are known as such. When are you writing your book? Your story (especially when shared on Mastering Diabetes with Cyrus recently) is powerful, inspirational, and life giving and is helping many and could help even more. I’m thinking the book would include your story, some of your favorite stories from others who have changed their lives, your favorite recipes, your tips/tricks, your best health practices, and: a compilation of the points of intersection of the many experts you interview with quotes and more. From Dr B to the beloved Dr Barnard to Chef AJ to Cyrus and Robby it could be a “best of” those who are transforming the world even as they continue to transform themselves.
Thank you so much Dr. Ornish. ❤❤I love having discovered you and your amazing books and ways of life. I have been moved by life to make big changes and you have provided me with a clear path. I have more to discover and implement but I am on my way!! Thank you so so much.
I have been following Dr. Ornish since the Escape Fire documentary came out. Our system is so focused on the wrong things. This seems so common sense, but it is unfortunate that our healthcare system is not set up to support it.
Back in the day, people concerned about their diets were mocked. Dean, and other doctors, has taken the common knowledge from mocking to embracing what will heal us.
Many thanks to you, Chuck and Dr. O, for an enlightening conversation! It’s always a pleasure to hear the confirming facts of a vegan lifestyle. Until your next interview Chuck, namaste! ♥️🥦🍅🥑♥️
Dr Ornish how do I reverse prediabetes when all these starch foods that fill you up like potatoes beans etc turn to sugar in bloodstream.
