If you leave the DRL on in automatic mode, it will NOT stay on all the time and kill the battery. That's just stupid. They turn off automatically after about 30 seconds once the key is removed or alarm is set.
The car is mostly FWD but the rear wheels engage whenever slip is detected on the rear wheels.. not as you said. Additionally, the DRL's will shut off automatically, even when not in auto mode.

1. the place that the battery is supposed to be in is actually reserved for the tt with manual transmission. Those cars need a master and slave cylinder to engage and disengage the clutch. 2. This car does not use quattro. Although it may be called quattro, it actually uses an haldex system that is used in VW vehicles. True quattro sends about 80% of the power to the rear wheels when needed which Haldex cannot do.

JQuattro in the snow is almost permanent 4wd. If you boot it all 4 wheels spin the same. Even with soft p zeros it will go anywhere while 2wd get abandoned in the snow
One thing you didn't know about the Audi TT ALL mk1 TTs come with a spare wheel except the Quattro sport which I doubt you ever got as they only made around 600.
The Quattro system is actually a Haldex Quattro....made by....err...Haldex. The Haldex system is only capable of putting 50% power to the rear wheels. This only occurs once the front begin to slip. This isn't an issue in snow ofc as it engages right away. Compared to a full Quattro system....which can put anywhere from =>5 to 90% power to the rears. So there's a distinction between Quattro and Haldex Quattro
my situation where they stayed on for a while until I shut them off only happened a few times. It's odd how it just started to work correctly out of know where.
So I'm really considering purchasing a 13 TTs and I live in MT our winters get pretty brutal. I was told with proper snow tires this thing bombs through the snow. My brother has a B8 S4 and it's killer in the winter. What do you think about the snow performance? At this rate anything will be better than my RWD 335i. Also does this thing have an aux input?
Karter Estill it drives decent in the snow as long as the snow isn't too high. I'm out in NY for reference. It's awd only when it needs to be. Also, there are different adapters that plug into the MMI system. Mine came with the iPod cable. You can swap it for an auxiliary plug.
Audi mk2 TT doesn’t have Mmi If specced, it has ami iPod dock in glovebox is not ami, it’s just a cd emulator If car had aux it is in the leading edge of the tray behind the handbrake
it's actually pretty amazing in the snow - i live in Alberta and drive the car year round, outside of heavy snowfalls where clearance is an issue, the car handles better than most other cars on the road with a good set of winter tires. The quattro system will get you going on any road while the esc is clever and is monitoring everything you're doing, when you turn the wheel the car will make sure you make the turn by slowing down wheels to limit wheel slip. It's actually a pretty unique experience from other heavier cars with a less intuitive stability control. Just make sure you have a decent set of winters on and you'll be outperforming most vehicles on the road.
You’re talking as if theres one type of MK2 no variations lol, for 1 I have the Manual V6, the air filter is positioned differently so theres no big gap in the engine bay, mine doesn’t have an auto headlight mode, mines manual so no S mode... and def doesnt get the MPG you listed, so theres a few things you clearly didn’t know about at least my variation of the MK2
