Does the car give you many problems or has it been pretty solid over the years looking for a awd sports coupe and the tt seems hands down like the best option
Got a Audi TTS mk2. It’s super fast with 0-60 in 4.9 sec and corners pretty well. Love the practicality with Quattro for winter and the lift back gives you plenty of storage for a little sports car. Just wish the back seats were a little bigger and mpg was a little better. Other than that I think the car fit me perfectly! TTS is a great value if you find one for the right price. Got mine for 17k earlier this year.
Ricardo Domingos it’s a dual clutch auto, but Audi does give you quite a bit of freedom to control the engine using the the paddles or shifter. Unfortunately I’m part of the generation that hasn’t driven a manual much(only once so far) but I hope to get a cheap Miata sometime and practice more. For me it’s fine that the TTS is dual clutch auto but for others maybe not.
I’m enjoying my 2nd TT (3rd gen TTS) for its looks, it’s looks, plus it’s looks. And also the power. And the luxury. Highly unappreciated car, and a little rare in the US. I get a lot of stares and thumbs up everywhere I go. And when I park it I can’t help but look back at its Glacier White nom nomness. Looks like nothing else.
I was most definitely one of the 4 people that requested this😂 but I love my 2002 TT Quattro with 225hp. It’s been nothing but joy so far and this video was meant for me

I daily drive a MK1 TT with over 100k miles in Los Angeles. It's been a solid car and hasn't let me down. It is generally under appreciated but all I care is that I appreciate it.
I'm picking up one tonight so I figured I'd add something. The mk1 tt is easy to add power if you get the right one. They had lots of different engine codes. The one you really want is the AMU engine. It has forged internals and 20mm wrist pins. The BEA is more common to find with the same 6 speed manual quattro but while it does have forged internals, it only has 19mm wrist pins which limits your max power you can put through them. You can still get around 300 hp but it gets sketchy above that. Also ALEX, the b5 a4 is a great car with no issues with the cluster if you don't get the stupid face-lift ones with the digital dash. I've had 2 and they are still in perfect working condition. You can't have digital displays last the 25 years like that.
Honestly, been wanting a TT since '01, but part aren't cheap if anything goes wrong seeing as it's an Audi, so I have been putting it off. I do personally prefer the gen 1 TT's styling but would also love a gen 2, gen 3 costs too much money for me.
Actualy I belive parts are pretty cheap on the gen 1 (all old car parts cost less) a MK1 part cost as much as a recent mazda part. But whatchout for new europeen car part price
This is the car which brought me into the car community from young.I remember having the 2nd gen as one of my first toy cars which lets say inspired me into liking cars and thus the Audi TT is the first ever car I ever knew so when I am old enough to get a driver's license, this is probably my first or second car I would own.
I bought one from a scrap yard out of sheer curiosity because I already have a car that shares a lot of components with it, the 8L S3 Quattro.. from a maintenance perspective the Mk1 is such a user friendly interface it’s a work of art to work on, no niggly annoying parts, worst thing I had to do is the window guttering that I had to drill out a dozen spot rivets to fit the new gutter and solder in a new microswitch for the window.. with ESP on it’s such a friendly car, turn it off and it plants itself in corners and you can thoroughly test its capabilities and get your heart racing.. I wasn’t sure but once you start modifying it you begin to love it.. the styling, the 2000s tuner scene with Reiger parts and a set of nice alloys and suspension.. as much as people forget these things exist they’re now hard to find in breakers yards, most people are buying scrap value ones to fix up.. I’ve only seen one mk3 here where I live, seen 6 mk1 with in a mile of my house.. my only thing that annoys me is you have to spend a long time fixing the head light lens because a layer of dirt can take it from looking futuristic to looking like a barn find Karmann Ghia. 😂 people can’t help but take a second glance and all my work colleagues think it’s funny seeing me spending my break times at work bringing this little diamond back to life rather than pulling it apart. The car everyone forgot about until you see one in the flesh and then it’s too late, you want it. 😂 even the 1.8t is a wonderful sounding engine that has an amazing aftermarket support. Better than the 3.2 with DSG box which is wild.. people getting 400bhp out of something less than a 2.0

I own a mk1 tt I've had it 3 years..it's never been any bother I would recommend them. Just buy as low milage model you can . They are reasonably priced. Economic to run. Reliable and sporty. You will love one . .
I bought the Audi TTS in 2010 because the RS was to expensive. (not worth another £20,000) And today in 2022 12 years later I still have it. Phantom black with red and black leather and best of all it's manual! It will have to be prised from my cold dead hands. Love it!!!!!!!
I just bought a 201 Audi Quattro TT with the baseball glove type interior and convertible top. I saw it and loved it. Not sure of what I'm getting in to but it looks, sounds and drives great. Although it is a 2001 there isn't a whole lot of upgradability for this car from what I see from my research
Got an 08 2.0 roadster. I’ve replaced the soft top as the mechanism ground a hole in it. But before that, I spent a fortune regluing the rear glass that was coming off. The ignition/steering wheel lock seized up and had to be replaced. Bad vacuum lines gave me the check engine light. Oh, and of course the engine burns oil hahaha but I still love my baby
So you want a Lexus IS300/Toyota Altezza! Please and thank you! You guys featured a short clip of one towards the end of your last video! I have one and they’re incredible cars!
Traded a 2009 Ford Taurus for a 2001 Audi TT Roadster. Still have it 6 years later and it will always be my favorite car to drive. Parts are surprisingly cheap (1.8t engine was used in about 16 different cars until 2010) and the car is always fun to drive.
I have a TT 3.2 VR6 roadster S-line gen 2. I like the styling more then gen 1, I think it’s better in proportion. The only thing Audi has gone to conservative with is the setup of the suspensoin, to Mutch understeer and the balance wasn’t ride. I say wasn’t because you can fix these problems by changing the springs and dempers (Ohlins) camberplates and different bushings. The car is changed completely to al balanced car.
Please do a video on the Smart fortwo. I just swaped a new w18 engine on it and I'm finishing the new rocket bunny body kit. I'm looking for some new dope donk wheels so help me there.
I've got an MK2 TT Quattro S-line fully loaded. The car owned just about everything, (even.... dare I say it...some Subaru Impreza's) during the winter months in some deep snow riding on some Viking Continental tires here in Canada. The car is really well balanced, it beats the majority of cars from light to light during the summer and is much better on gas & insurance than my buddies Merc SLK or Porsche 911. It's a great do everything well daily driver kind of car. 220hp AWD doing 13 second quarter miles STOCK, that used to be super car territory back in the 90's & early Y2k's. Today you put on an intake, down pipe and tune and all of a sudden your car is 300+HP and does the 1/4 in high 11's and low to mid 12's & let's a novice run a faster lap than the M1 & M2 crowd. Let's call the TT what it really is, a blue collar man's sports car. Glad you made the video.
First time I saw A TT, I was visiting Hamburg Germany in 1999. I was walking down a sidewalk (super wide over there) and there it was! A brand new Silver TT. Told myself outlaid one day I will own one of these. 10 years later, I bought an MK1 04', 3rd owner. Bought the car when gas hit $5.00/gal in Atlanta, I had a v6 truck at the time. I wanted the 1.8 engine, zippy, but nor a gas hog. Narrowed it down to a VWGTI Awd, A Mini (similar size, motor (+/-_ and zippy, and the TT.. I don't plan on selling it. Mine is a 6 speed manual, AWD, Papaya Orange, currently plasti-dipped dark matte gray. People either love these or hate them, find them odd or amazing. It is a blast to drive, in all weather, and I enjoy it. I love the MK2 & MK3 body style, and hope to add one of each to my collection. I have considered getting a MK1, and gutting it and turning it into a track car (Road Atlanta). Thanks for sharing this video!
I love my Audi TT MK2. It has a stage 2+ APR tune and I haven't had any issues with it yet. With the tune it's got 285 hp and 321 tq. Almost as much torque as a TTRS (332) for way less money!
Bought my first German platform beginning this year with a 01 Audi TT Vert. The fwd edition with the nasty baseball interior.. I can say this car I was against, but after driving it’s a very well built car. The motors can hold a decent amount of boost also. Just do it right!!
Audi engineers did make 1 twin turbo TT. It was a first gen with an S4 2.7tt and true 6sp Quattro setup, completely functional car. It was a bit ridiculous for them though so it never went into true production.
The tt 3.2 came with a dsg back in 2004 by today standers it’s a must have in any sports car Audi did it 15 years ago and that’s what Audi’s know being the leaders of automotive technology in my opinion the tt 3.2 might be a future classic a car way ahead of it’s time and a true meaning of a under dog
actualy the 1.8 turbo is more desirable... as fast and way more desirable... first thing my mecanic asked when he saw it is "which engine?" - "1.8? Great, thats the good one"

Need for speed underground 2 started my love for the mk1 TT, years later I built my own 700hp TT. The potential of the Audi TT is crazy.
Please do “so you want a Volkswagen Jetta” please!!!
Probably not cuz nobody actually wants those... they just settle for them cuz they can't afford anything else
Ralph Roman unless you get a diesel manual Jetta
Ralph Roman I would love to have a gli so no my dad had a lowered gli when I was a kid
@@jralphroman lool
@@jralphroman im still waiting for so you want an r32 golf
Αs an mk1 owner you can always get the roadster one because it brakes the bubble concept quite well. And the tunability is crazy you can get as much power as you like for under 10k.
So you want a Cadillac ATS... show the Caddies some love! I am wanting to buy an ATS someday, it would be absolutely awesome if you guys did a video on this car.
I own a mk1 tt I've had it 3 years..it's never been any bother I would recommend them. Just buy as low milage model you can . They are reasonably priced. Economic to run. Reliable and sporty. You will love one .
.
As an Aussie and a proud owner of one, can you do one on a Holden commodore/Ute
I bought the Audi TTS in 2010 because the RS was to expensive. (not worth another £20,000) And today in 2022 12 years later I still have it. Phantom black with red and black leather and best of all it's manual! It will have to be prised from my cold dead hands. Love it!!!!!!!
The intro song is Solitary - Coste
. You're welcome by the way 😎
Jimi Thomas YES 🤙🤙
Proud owner of a TT MK1 225 Quattro. Thanks so much for this video guys!
so you want an Infiniti g35 coupe pt 12
I just bought a 201 Audi Quattro TT with the baseball glove type interior and convertible top. I saw it and loved it. Not sure of what I'm getting in to but it looks, sounds and drives great. Although it is a 2001 there isn't a whole lot of upgradability for this car from what I see from my research
“ so you got your moms old Toyota Corolla” dun dun dun tun tun tun dun dun dun tun tun
Love my mk1 audi tt roadster Definitely.I head to now.Always start a conversation With people and always impressed
small car + powerful engine = a good time
Got an 08 2.0 roadster.
2nd generation was nice, but that 3rd gen looks reeeeal niiice
Do a RX-8 video please
Rx7/rx7 would be nice
I own a 2008 Audi TT 3.2 V6. It is awesome!
So you want a BMW 335i (or any N54 car)
Traded a 2009 Ford Taurus for a 2001 Audi TT Roadster. Still have it 6 years later and it will always be my favorite car to drive. Parts are surprisingly cheap (1.8t engine was used in about 16 different cars until 2010) and the car is always fun to drive.
Q, Since you had the AuDi TT is it fit to be daily driven?
Thinkin’ of buying a TT, driving within
I’m ready for a long “ so you want a corvette”
I have a TT 3.2 VR6 roadster S-line gen 2. I like the styling more then gen 1, I think it’s better in proportion. The only thing Audi has gone to conservative with is the setup of the suspensoin, to Mutch understeer and the balance wasn’t ride. I say wasn’t because you can fix these problems by changing the springs and dempers (Ohlins) camberplates and different bushings. The car is changed completely to al balanced car.
Öhlins or not, it understeers to much. Quattro doesent help, as it is on FWD 90% of the time.
Few people know it
Hey Alex, I just realized you guys haven't done a wheel history on 5zigen. Next video maybe?
glad to see this video! ended up picking up a mk1 2004 TT early august and so far so good, i love it
“So you want a Mini Cooper s”
"I want a mini Cooper s"
Said nobody ever
Dude seriously I'm watching this video in my room while eating pizza :)) How did you know that !!
🔮😂
I love my Audi TT MK2. It has a stage 2+ APR tune and I haven't had any issues with it yet. With the tune it's got 285 hp and 321 tq. Almost as much torque as a TTRS (332) for way less money!
linus tech tips is that you :O
