At 1:54, I try and add the Virtual Midi Cable to VMidi 2, but Roland V-COMBO VR-09 isn't listed, just the 4 VMIdis. Any ideas on how I can fix this, please?

I don't know if you intend to make any updates, if so, I'd like to report some observations that could be corrected or added! THE PAN OPTIONS L, R DO NOT SAVE or even save but when changing they return to normal MFX/EFX DON'T SAVE IN JUST ONE OF THE TIMBRES WHEN WE USE MORE THAN ONE, when exiting and returning the mfx/efx Activates in all Timbres! and taking the opportunity to also leave an observation about another editor. the Roland E-A7 ALSO USES UPG FILES, I don't know if it's possible to leverage or build something with for the VR based on the roland E-A7 I hope I have contributed fo something... stay well!
Hi, korrrekt: pan cannot be saved - it's an 'unsavable hidden option'. Which editor version do you have in use? Editor is updated permanently: v1.12.17 is just a few weeks 'young', v1.12.18 'bugfix release' will come the next days to fix a major bug and add some improvements. You have to go to v-combo.webspace.rocks/editor-vr09-730 to get the latest releases (ctrlr.org website is abandoned) In actual Editors inline-documentation it is noted that all switches/pots/faders that are tainted 'lightblue' are not savable in VR and are only for direct live access. ---- E-A7 upg: for sure the files are not compatible to VR09 (upg are device specific binaries, e.g. E-A7 upg includes styles etc). Sure, if one has an E-A7 and is able to program ctrlr he can 'decrypt' the upg binaries an program an editor - but it's not so simple, e.g. VR700 also uses upgs (not compatible to VR09): unfortunately it uses a secret checksum on the files which makes it only possible to change the order of the 'favorites' but not delete/merge/copy other favorites into it.

depends what you mean with 'connect to'. I recommend to subscribe to forums.musicplayer.com and ask your question in the big 'Roland VR09' threat - there are some Apple users which certainly will help :)
'GM' playing with the VR - quick and dirty method: Plug a midi cable from VR 5-pin OUT to IN. In VR midi menu, set TX channel (of upper/lower) to a VR GM channel (e.g. channel 6). Use the EDITOR to load a GM sound to this channel(e.g. 6). Play Warning: with the permanent cable, the VR will always send midi note on/off 'to itself'. You'll either hear the GM default sound (GM piano) or create a midi loop when sending note signals back to their proper 'keyboard' channels 1-4 (e.g. if you switch to a registrations that sets back the TX channel to VR default).
of course there is. There's even a new editor version in the making (v1.12.17). It will add access to many more hidden GM sounds (in fact VR hides the complete Roland Sound Canvas set - now it's about 2000 GM sounds), extended Virtual-Analog synth, and more.

I know I don't have the right to ask for more than what you've already done but if you have time... can you include harpeggiators with tempo controls? what about GM sounds still not possible to save in vr ne? but really... congratulations and thank you!
@@roland-c3h Arp: unfortunately it's not possible to implement an arp directly into ctrlr editor (I tried once but it had aleatoric retardations - ctrlr does not react 'realtime'). But as there were regulary demands for a 'VR + arp' solution we recently did a hack with VST 'Blue-Arp' running in ELEMENT vst-host which interacts perfectly with VR 'key playing' - and it's controlled by VR 'TEMPO' (just uploaded it, see ua-cam.com/video/9Q6jPa_sPsk/v-deo.html ) GM sounds cannot be saved in VR registrations - we have to accept it. Either use editor live (manuall select GM sounds or use editor 'MidiMapper' GM-autoload) or add a midi controller keyboard (even those mini-keys, Akai MPK et al, will suit).

Marco, don't worry, there are no viruses, on very rate occasions some antivirus programs just gave false alert. BTW the actual version is 1.12.15
