Choice restrictions have always been the best way to allow strategies to exist the way they're "intended" to exist. It's something Yugioh Duel Links does and I would hope more card games adopt, the only problem that arises is players complaining.

It's funny how early purple was struggling to now need to restrict their power. lol
In all honesty, I agree with the ban list. As much as I hate Anubis being hit, it seems fair. now I hope that make future restricted pairs in the future so that way a deck doesn't get the same treatment like Garurumon did.
To be fair purple came out in the second booster set and has had meta relevance since BT5 back with Lilith loop
purple is always good because this game has 0 ways to interact with opponent's trash so it's very hard to stop their decks
The Bandai statement shows they're in it for the long haul rather than hurting the scene with short-termism. The JP format would have hated waiting another 6 months for BT15 to sell in the West; and it legitimately could have killed the JP scene.
Gabu X is fine IMO. Did it need to be banned? Probably not, but its effect is clearly a lot stronger than all the other X Anti rookies. Having a protection inherited on a rookie is already strong, especially given how easy it is to meet the conditions for it (trivially easy compared to Agu X).
I tried the Galaxy Loop on Project Drasil sim once. When it sets up, it stops being fun for the opponent. I literally had 0 Security against BT-14 D-Brigade, but with the loop active, I stole turn, made it so my opponent couldn't unsuspend anything, and just swung away. I managed to wipe his field and slowly chip away at Security. He left before I could swing for game and I don't blame it. It was just him watching me play the game by myself with minimal interaction from him.
Had the Bukamon only worked with [Sea Beast], [Plesiosaur], and [Beastkin], it would have been fine. But because Bandai thought "other blue decks have easy Jamming or battle related protection already, they won't run this card" and then they did run it because it freed up space in the main deck, it got hit.
Gabumon X & Garurumon X both needed that inherit to say [Once Per Turn] or to only return cards with "Garurumon" in name. Though as they are currently worded, they should be hit to 0, as even at 1, with access to both of and the draw/filtering power of all versions of Melga, it's still a problem.
Garurumon X being a free digivolve over Garurumon, filtering 2 cards, and gaining you a memory was also just stupid; more so when combined with 1 or more Cool Boys(as an X Antibody player, I still don't know how this hasn't been hit yet).
The Anubismon needed the hit. I've seen lists already of people running it as a 1 of in Bagra; though I haven't played against them or tested it myself. But I agree, the 1 of might be pretty good as as a secondary boss in certain decks. And as long as Calling doesn't get hit to 0, it should still be easy to get to hand.
Apocalymon, had the cards under it been bottom deck "when it would leave the field", and if it could only place Dark Masters under it, it'd have been fine, annoying but fine. However, that's not how it worked, and I'd be fine with it hit to 0. Though it is a shame the Dark Masters themselves were so over balanced because Apocalymon was over powered.

Regarding Mirage... In my opinion what made it stronger is not trainings. Yes it increase its consistency, but the source strip cards from BT14 allow it to disable a lot of bad matchups.
That is also very true!
I agree that Blue OTK decks, as a whole, lost a lot of bad matchups due to the introduction of selective source stripping
However, I still personally think that trainings contribute a significant amount, as a search spell that doesn't bottom deck tamers but also turbos their lvl6 absurdly quickly due to the abundant memory gain they get
I know I've lost a few games against it not even going into BM but them finding the one of Mach and going into bt11 Mirage (turn 2/3) extremely quickly due to trainings and forced draws/bounces to gaining 4 memory in a turn (spending 1 memory total to go from a lvl4 to lvl6) and just straight dying from the multiple swings from that stack lol (tho those games I put more fault to the bt14 bukamon)

When I saw the choice selection after watching your last video I was like "wow Bandai really gave that guy everything he asked for lol!"
Hopefully with apoc being hit this means scatter mode can come back. Purple decks would appreciate it
They can say they care about the state of the meta all they want, but we wouldn't continue to have to see stuff like this with brand-new cards if they actually had an RD department. The issue is that the OCG should not be the testing grounds for the game to develop. or rather, it should be a component, but they need to do proper research first. It doesn't look good when you have multiple cards in several newer sets being immediately hit before they even come out. That being said, I do like that they came out and identified the reasoning for each of their hits. However, each one of their reasoning was like "this cards design cripples game play, or prevents future card design, or makes other cards unplayable". So if that's your reasoning for each card, why are you not testing your cards before even releasing them for public distribution? Anyone with a brain cell would have read Apoclymon and been like "nope". This will continue to happen if the actual root of the problem isn't addressed.
With the exception of maybe apocalymon, they have and rnd team that tests these cards. Everyone cg in existence does to some extent, but they’re aren’t gonna test for every possible deck/card combo especially if they’re either A. On a tight release schedule. Or B. The card is testing within the veins of an archetype. To say these cards aren’t tested before printing and release is very irresponsible.
The thing people fail to understand is this happens in every card game they can't playtest everything

As someone that plays Yugioh, magic, Pokemon, digimon, one piece, shadowverse, it’s more so being able to look at something they’ve created and being able to identify it’s too broken. Apolycmon is too broken and any card that can mill your opponent out is toxic no matter what card game. Instead of just deflecting,we can hold Bandai accountable, moving forward expect a more rigorous R&D department, so that every new set doesn’t see every purple card going to one. Clearly if there is a trend, they aren’t doing something right, and they need to go back to the drawing board. Every one of Bandai’s reasoning was “this restricts card design” ok well why did you not come to that conclusion during the development stage?
I like anubis at 1 because i feel like i could just throw it in my old minervamon deck and have fun, but eyesmon being restricted and garuru x being restricted im not sure what bottom end I should use for the deck now. I guess I just build the Ex5 anubis deck and fill the restricted slots with bt11 minerva?
You have Dobermon to replace SM. While not cycling as many cards you get to recover another card.
I ultimately decided to try darklizardmon with the st14 gabu underneath and that works pretty well. Dober does sound pretty good but i dont like that its not a retaliator@@oreox1000

the problem give it "main" effect to anubis is cancer to the core they hit first security use small guy and then use main effect to use its effect again.... to finish the game... like its higly chance easy to do that.

Probably the exact same as everyone expects since the banlist doesn't take into effect until after bt15 is released.
If you're asking what the best decks are, imo:
Mirage
Anubis
And potentially beelstar
So I expect the meta to revolve around countering/beating these decks
Not make koh and sayo ban but they doing personal research for other card who can loop other Zubamon is kind proof they care about there game.

But the Choice Restrictions only apply to Japan, right? We didn't get an annouchment of some sort here, did we?
The issue with the buka egg... Was that it wasnt worded like upa, if your opponent has no digimon you get jamming
I honestly don't get the buka hit since we are getting jamming 3 and 4s that don't have restrictions. While the egg is situational.the blue decks you named will still be strong with the new cards coming in 15 and 16. Other than that I'm ok with the hits.
well, you would still have to find your pieces for lvl3 and 4 that gives jamming.. while buka is a guaranteed jamming egg for the rest of the stack u breed.. also, buka conditions for jamming isn’t even that hard to fulfill since blue decks have lots of access to bounce and source stripping
with the purple hits, I think they can probably take the Eyesmon off the list since they were originally banned to try and slow down purple decks but saw that it wasn't enough before finally swinging the hammer at the garuru engine.

I feel like the inclusion of choice restrictions kind of made the previous banlist and banlist revision pointless. They could've restricted the garuru engine to melga, could've restricted merva from anubismon, and could've restricted eyes and the garuru X from Apocalymon and it would've slowed the decks enough to not need a full blown limit to everything. Its really disheartening seeing all the interesting rogue decks and the rise of older purple meta being killed before western audiences can even play with the decks. I understand the bans, i agree with their reasoning behind most of the bans, it just feels like they killed so many fun rogue decks doing it.
They owe us new purple Gabumons. This is the third purple Gabumon they hit. They cant keep getting away with this. We dont even have a standard 12 purple gabumon rookies anymore. We can now only have 11 purple Gabumons and thats including BT04 VANILLA Gabumon. Which other than having Gabumon in name, its useless.
While I genuinely can understand the frustration of wanting to play a more pure purple base for melga....is it really THAT important to get a new purple gabumon?
Especially considering by the time new banlist takes into effect you get access to bt15 garuru and bt15 gabu? (that have alternative evo conditions)
Those cards themselves are imo very solid alternatives for the deck that provide MUCH needed draw power for purple melga~
Stop fake out endings, no one finds them funny and you can see it from a mile a way, it's just a waste of time.
