I’ll also note that “Eevee” (Evie) is also a good nickname for Evelyn 🙂 at the very least that’s what we call my niece (hilariously, my sister’s favorite Pokémon is indeed Eevee. She didn’t see the correlation until I pointed it out when she was 8 months pregnant, while asking if she wanted me to get Evie an Eevee plush now or wait until she was old enough to understand the nuance lol)
We didn’t wait for my daughter 😅 her name is Evie and our friends jumped all over it! She doesn’t much care for the Eevees but she does love Sylveon though!!

Evie just turned 3 though, and is at significantly less risk of casually swallowing beaded or button notions, so you better bet I'm going to be getting her her first Eevee soon~
Best part of Evie is you can pretend it’s short for something. It becomes tricky as they get older and they become Espeon/Umbreon/Flareon etc.

I just imagine a Team Sky admin who is just a dude that uses Golurk and Smeargle. When confronted by [insert cheeky character] that their Pokémon clearly doesn’t fly, Golurk brings its legs into its body and just uses a giant magical thruster that can achieve escape velocity despite being so non-aerodynamic.
When the character groans and rolls their eyes to accept Golurk, they look over at Smeargle and chuckle. “That can definitely not fly!”, but lo and behold for Smeargle starts to ascend, lifted up by wings made of paint and pure Ork imagination.
At least give that admin a dodrio that flies by rapidly swinging two of its heads.

I feel like something important to remember is that meme review isn't as rewatchable as most things. It's very topical, there's clear trends, and it makes the most sense to watch when it comes out, while the JMC or analysis videos can be rewatched at any time.
Aside if you binge the entire series to see the evolution of Mikey.

Kazuki Takahashi (YuGiOh's creator) was a massive fan of tabletop games his whole life, and centered the manga around it, with games being of various scopes (Ranging from only needing a few dice and a token, or needing an elaborate set up). The card games in the manga were a direct reference to Magic The Gathering (Which is why the early card designs were more mythical and demonic, with the sole exceptions being Machines).
There's a possibility Pokemon may have had some influence on him, but YuGiOh also had arcs featuring the likes of Tamagotchi and Dungeons and Dragons, so it's really unlikely that YuGiOh owes it's existence to Pokemon.
There might also be a possibility, that the hype around Duel Monsters, said card game, was partially influenced by the existence of Pokemon. However even if that were the case YuGiOh would still have existed.

So I think that Grunty Boi comic was about how a lot of Pokemon Trainers in the games are... crazy. For example, the "Give me your blood" line is said by a channeler at one of the Ghost Towers (can't remember which), which is NOT a normal thing to say when greeting someone. My guess is that the thing with the egg is a deep cut of a Pokemon NPC who is also named Michael.

The reasons for the show moving channels is interesting & kind of funny to me, since it ASPITPIAY actually IS part of how I got into the channel. After I watched a few of your other videos, they would be recommended to me, or auto-play after something else. Yeah, I didn't understand a lot of the channel specific memes/jokes at first, but I liked the other stuff enough that I kept watching & eventually subscribed. And now that I've watched all of the Team Sky videos and the like, I've actually been tempted to go back and see if I understand the older ones better. Maybe after/if I ever actually watch Pokémon Talk. 😅
In any case, I understand your decision & am glad to see the show is still going. Maybe I'll finally subscribe to Extra now, too.

It's definitely the necessity for connectivity that's preventing older Pokemon titles from being placed on the eShops. You also have to factor that Colosseum and XD were made out of house, which might provide some problems with modifying it to be connected to Home.
Or they could just...not. Most people would rather have the games unconnected than not at all.

I really like what you're doing with this. You're essentially making this channel and Plays for all audiences (this channel for info and Plays for actual gameplay), and you're making Extra specifically for your devoted audience.
