"Built from the ground up" where have I heard that before?
Me too. I’ve heard that sentiment many times before and look how all that’s working out.
I think anyone who’s getting hypefest on 2024. We need to red flag that session right here right now. Far up the red flags everyone back to the pits race over.
I think it was the last Forza Motorsport...
Oh Yeah
Fallout 76
built from the "2 months before launch ahh ground up"
Remember when f1 2020 having a maxed out car was something to be excited about
Glad I was one of the people who experienced a max out myteam car
The same also by using a FORMULA 2 ENGINE in an F1 car on F1 2019.😂
Having to start a career every year just to get updated, driver grids and tracks gets tiresome. Why can't these games just put new liveries and drivers behind a dlc pay wall for $20?? It'd be nice to keep my stats or carry them over to the next year
For me the Peak of the series was F1 2012.
@@rvegasguy_5216 probably because your career will be in season 2032 but the next game will be 2024. :D
F1 2016 was not the first F1 game to introduce classic cars. that honour goes to F1 97 with the 60s mode. Then the studio liverpool games had classic cars in most of their games and the codemasters era was F1 2013 before bringing them back in F1 2017
🤓🤓
You are correct that F1 2016 was not the first F1 game to introduce classic cars, since it did actually not introduce classic cars.
@@gamefan56Classic F1 cars were returned in F1 2017 to 2020.

One thing: EA.
You say that but 99% of the games issues were an issue before EA came along
@@elcactusdelamuerte506 like what?
@@guilhermes.pereira1671 well there’s thousands, but they essentially all narrow down to that it’s essentially a yearly release with no actual updates between games. Even the micro transaction complaints started before EA came along.
@@elcactusdelamuerte506F1 22 was actually the start of those microtransaction problems.
@@purwantiallan5089 no f1 22 was when the podium pass was started. We had micro transactions, preorder bonuses and different editions of the game giving stuff like exclusive liveries, tracks, race suits, helmets, podium celebrations, race scenarios e.t.c. for years prior to that.
its literally what happened to fifa/ea fc, so sad…
^
I’d like to add EA’s NHL series to that…same problem. Worst part is, every time they introduce anything new it absolutely demolishes the game’s stability and introduces new bugs that stick around for years
The madden franchise has been like this for damn near 20 years.
@@eebiki remembered a lot also that NHL 15 ON PS4/5 and Xbox One and Series X REMOVED 120! YES! 120 FEATURES THAT WERE ALL IN OLDER NHL GAMES! EVEN THE SEASON MODE WAS REMOVED!
@@Hammerhead547Madden NFL 13 was the peak of Madden's downfall due to the bad re innovation.
I played these games religiously since what... F1 2015... then I bought a gaming PC and installed Assetto Corsa F1 mods. Never, ever looked back. The driving feel, tyre grip, force feedback is not even on the same planet on these games. Pretty packages... hollow inside. It's a shame, really as these look wonderful.
Only reason to play f1 is for the career, I wish other Sims had a more in depth career mode though
@@stevebuscemi3622 I have made F1 full seasons with full version of AC content manager. They have amazingly realistic results because you can tune every single detail on these mods. Sure it takes a lot of tweaking but it's worth it. Check my channel. Cheers man.
@@13breno13 Yes. I have some vintage season mod showcases on my channel.
@@13breno13 yes you can with mods. the biggest downside of AC is the ai tho. On many tracks they are very unbalanced. Also no career mode which is why i dont stick to it. I prefer racing over hotlapping..
I played this game since F1 2012 until F1 22 where I stopped playing this game. There's no incentive for me to play this game because there's nothing to do aside play career mode and this career mode is so stale beyond words.
Imagine a AAA Bethesda game having less bugs than a simcade racing game. Broken multiplayer for years, buggy races, rife cheating problems but then they gave us some sofas and sunglasses and wanted us to kiss their feet for it
I mean, the sofas and sunglasses are what makes a racing game worthy, right?🤣
@@JamesRacing07 best feature of the whole game in my opinion, I cannot imagine an F1 game without sofas and sunglasses😂

I returned to F1 2020, and man, I love it. It's actually fun to drive, we have great classic cars, and if I'm not in the mood for a full season, I can always say that "It's Covid", and play a shorter season :D
You need to check out geckis mods for f1 2020 if you want to play career mode with classic cars ;) assuming you play on pc..
True. F1 2020 even four years after release still the GOAT. F1 2021 still perfect though especially the main theme by Ian Livingstone that is as amazing as Colorful Dreams Colorful Smiles.
EA lets the solo career modes in all their games rot in favor of the microtransaction modes.
No preoder for me. First gotta see if they actually add something new. Hope they move to a better game engine
👍
And they done nothing
I too will not preorder the 24 game, apparently, Driver Career is getting an overhaul, which I hope is true, and they improve on some other aspects.
I've preordered every F1 science 2020, but now I will wait too... If the game is bad, I'll pay iRacing membership 😂😂😂
Ngl the last two games I’ve just waited until they’re out on gamepass 😂
F1 2021 didn't have worse handling. Didn't you know that in the real life 2021 season the cars had a reduction in downforce from the 2020 season. Codemasters replicated the downforce reduction for the 2021 game. So that's right on that part.
I thought it was to do with real life F1 regulations. There's no way Codemasters would make the handling bad on purpose.
I'm well aware of the fact that the 2021 cars were slower, but I'm talking about the handling model, not the speed of the cars. Myself and many others experienced random traction loss in high speed corners without TC, which doesn't make any sense considering the downforce in these situations. Besides, the cars in F1 2020 felt generally nicer to drive and were more fun in my opinion.
@@AshleighKinsellaxoWell, they for sure didn't do it on purpose, but it was still worse in my opinion. The driving felt more inconsistent, but still way better than 22
It isn't about the speed. It is about your car spinning as soon as a single pixel touches a curb or going through corners with a lot of camber
I think what codies and ea did was first fuck up the handling in f1 2021, which was saved by f1 cars running top aero at the time and just copy it over to 22, which was shit because the cars were now running ground effect and produced downforce differently.
F1 2020 is still a very fun game for me. Been doing TT on every track with classic cars recently and it’s so much fun, especially when you top the leaderboard on multiple tracks 😂🙌🏼
Dont forget also the short tracks that were previously appeared in Grid Autosport like Austin, Abu Dhabi Short Track and Catalunya.
ive returned to f1 2020 because the cars are actually fast and fun to drive
So have I, I don’t think there has been a good game since 2021
I´d love to get F12020 on Steam, but EA just removed every F1 game from the store besides 22 and 23...

I wanted a real-life F1 sim so I tried F1 23 a few weeks ago. I got a clear run on Stroll and he put me in the wall at 300kmh without him even looking.
Seems pretty realistic to me.
Instead of bringing back classic cars for quick races, bring back classic as a career mode. There should make a career mode set in the past. Or maybe two career modes. One for modern and one for classic career from the like the. 4 season classic career mode with commentary and all saying the names of the drivers and car tuning that fully simulates f1 of the era. Make it feel like the classic is the modern. With dirty replay camera and poor or no radio depending on the era. Track layouts of the era like the classic monza or classic spa francochamp or Monaco. Also a longer pitstop with refueling and the possibility of making a mistake of leaving early before refueling, which can cause fire that hurts your pit crew, affecting your race rewards greatly. It should be set from like 1970 to 1974 or 1975. Then the next game will have classic career from 1975 to 1980 or something. Next game 1980 to 1985, etc. It'd be amazing to compete classic drivers like Alan prost, senna, Michael and Ralph Schumacher, etc.
Thats why assetto corsa is the best in my oppinion driving wise, you will get bored of f1 cars at some point, so you can go very different car on any track
That's true, AC just offers the best variety due to the modding capabilities. Thanks for watching🧡
@@JamesRacing07 its probably true that if not for mods ac would be dead by now, so the modders are really keeping the game alive
@@zinddyFor sure, I mean there's not much content in the base game and with mods you can do anything...

@@michalthekind tru, some mods have good ai but its pretty rare

Wouldn't suprise me at all😂
Loved this video. Career mode has been lacking for literal years, just like the game engine. F1 2020 and F1 2013 were epic as both had some awesome classic cars. I also feel like better replays are needed, but not many people really talk about that, so maybe it's just a "me" issue!
Thanks mate, appreciate it!🧡
I quit playing F1 games after F1 2019 and this video just reminds me how I don't regret that choice lol
Sure, lot´s of other great options out there, like Assetto Corsa for example!
What gets me is the loss of detail over time. The attention to detail was much greater in 2018 compared to later games. There are videos made comparing the textures that backs this. The immersion factor has dropped over time with the loss of this attention to detail
For me F1 21 was the peak (my first F1 game) still partially dealing with the Pandamic we had a online friend group of about 7/10 people online on a regular basis to race each other, now where down to 3 people.
We made so many great and fun memories on that game and Sochi was my favorite circuit 😢
The passion that was once there has faded
First time Codemasters F1 had classic cars in their game, was F1 2013 and NOT 2016!
Also 2016 didnt have classic cars
They announced that braking point is in every second game so they can work on it properly.
Totally agree. Maybe give Automobilista 2 a try. Just add the classic skins and f124 and it’s pretty fun but you’ll get bored the same.
Personal opinion, I think they should add a classic career mode Based around the 2007, season to the 2009 season I think that would be better because then you could experience the cars from 2009 The drivers in the atmosphere
But Considering EA Is in charge that’s never gonna happen. They’re going to try to turn this game into a FIFA clone where micro transactions are everywhere. I actually now worried about the new Career Mode. Yeah that’s now super concerning
Really nice video ❤ thank you. Liked and subbed
Thank you very much bro, much appreciated!🧡
Formula One 2001 (PS2), F1 Championship Edition (PS3), F1 2012 (PC/Steam), F1 2013 (PS3), F1 2017 (PC/Steam), F1 2018 (PC/Steam) all these games I currently own and more fun then F1 2023.
You should try grand prix 4. That game is still sooo good
Honestly, surprised EA Sports hasn't gotten Moto GP at this point since they are getting every popular sport available. To think Moto GP is the only one they haven't is surprising.
I would like tracks from the past. The return of classic cars would be great too.
Classic cars are good but classic tracks would be much better.
So I just wanna add that the braking point story wasn’t removed for F1 22 it was never gonna be in the game same with F1 24 we are not getting a braking point story this year and that is because codemasters have split their development team in 2 groups. One team works on braking point basically and the other one does career modes essentially. And I totally agree with you it’s basically the same game every year.
It’s a racing game what more do u expect fml
@@salex8813i do not know. Imagine being rl Alonso, Hamilton an co, doing the same thing year after year...for decades, must be boring to.

I don't play F1 game because of career mode lol. I play it because i love sim racing. Tho they could improve SP for sure.

@@JamesRacing07 thanks for answering, and ofc nice vid
1 year simply isn’t enough to make significant improvements, but they still have to release games because of ea and f1 contracts. Only way to have anything significant change would be to sacrifice 1-2 games where it’s just the last one with small updates for the new season. That’s what they did for f1 2014. That game was shit, but next one was on new engine
Or make a game with subscription service like iracing for 60-70$ per year and improve this game bit by bit. Just add every new season to the game. Would be much better in my opinion.
F1 2002-2013 were more fun than the modern games
Would love to see an era mode with my team in several different eras of f1
this video could be done within ten seconds:
"F1 games from 2021 were made by EA Games"
Nah, F1 99'-02' was fine.
@@umi3017 you were asleep for the last twenty years, right?
Never played an F1 game. So ill pick up F1 2020 based on this video.
21 was peak for me. it’s never been the same since and I’ve moved on from the f1 series altogether pretty much now… happily migrated to acc now :))
honestly they should just have one game that they keep adding to, it would increase the replay value of the game and to have consistent handling over the whole game, and i do know that ea and codemasters will loose lots of money
That's a solution as well, but not gonna happen, like you said, they'd loose too much money. Thanks for watching🧡
You forgot to mention that F1 2020 was the last to feature "short" versions of some tracks.
Definetly wait for the details and release
Coming from someone who has worked as a coach/manager for one of the pro series teams, this is exactly how I feel and what wained my motivation to get back into the game because I managed as well one of the biggest PC leagues and since about 2 years I haven't had the motivation to even touch F1 23 and instead I've moved onto other sims. Its ashame as I love playing with everyone and meeting other community members as I've made a lot of friends from doing it as I miss being apart of a pro series team but just with how stuff is seat up it doesn't even provide a stable job platform and that can be attributed to just the general development of the games since F1 21.
The intro is literally me
I quite liked the Braking Point story mode on the F1 games, the problem is that they did not script it to be a continuous series, like a Netflix show. Also, F1 23 being my first F1 game, I haven't experienced the Classic Cars in F1 2020, and I cannot download it on my Series S Xbox because they dropped support for it, stupidly. I really don't want to go into Asseto Corsa because I do not have a proper sim setup or wheel (I use a foldable table and a Thrustmaster Ferrari 458 wheel which leaves a lot to be desired).
I mean it sure sounds promising given the forum they released, secret team meetings. Revamped acclaim type system that goes hand in hand with team rnd. So currently cautiously optimistic
My favorite activity was to take a V10 and take it around for lap of Monaco or Spa.
It's been a while since I want a career mode where you can choose what year you play and can play the 2000 car's and with 10 years in your career you get the 2010 and so on (and also have your player get older)
same... imagine in F1 24 you could start up in 2014 for example. And all regulations etc. would be aplied there too. But adding random driver moves etc to make it feel special.
I would love to see that but... since its EA i would expect this to be feature like... buy every game to play those years in new F1
The Biggest Disgrace was Removing Classic Cars.
I want a new 2004 F1 game with he V10s and a carrier mode that's all
Without watching the video. Electronic Arts. That’s why
F1 2016 , F1 2017 and F1 2020 i play still today ❤❤❤
They should bring back classic cars and some historic tracks like Sepang, Nurburgring and Hockenheim
That would do what exactly ?
@@jacksmith-mu3ee Nothing special, I think it would just make the game a little more fun
@@W4LK3RR that won't solve anything . I d say release a game after season or before the season and this time allow us to play season as any f1 driver we want.

Who to play with my friends (the servers are down)
Played only F1 2018 for this particular reason. Racing games are hard to create something innovative for Carrier mode, because all you do is racing. It's basic concept. This genre could not be developing much. If you want FUN racing, go Forza Horizon or maybe GRID. But series racing like WRC, Nascar, F1 etc. can be only about racing in the nutshell.
Now I'm not a F1 fan, but I am a NASCAR fan. And I know how it feels. The general conception is that NASCAR gaming, at least for consoles, peaked with NASCAR Thunder 2004 and/or Chase For The Cup, which came out in 2005. Ever since then, it's just been downhill. EA, who made those games, eventually gave up trying by NASCAR 09. Then we had Eutecnyx for 5 games, only one of which being fondly remembered, that being Inside Line in 2012. Then in 2016, 704 Games took over and we got the NASCAR Heat series. Which is easily the most hated. We got four games with them from 2016-2019, all of which being received mostly negatively or mixed reception. Then in 2020, Motorsport Games took over after buying 704. They first released NASCAR Heat 5, and I bring this up only because it's currently the last game that got fairly positive reception. Then in 2021, Motorsport Games released NASCAR 21 Ignition. And the game was fucking horrendous. Just to put it bluntly, the game was completely unfinished. Tons of glitches, the spotter never shutting up, and the game would crash very regularly. All of these problems despite the game supposedly being in production for 2 years. After Ignition, Motorsport Games spent the next 2 years using the NASCAR license basically as a tax write-off. They released a rushed Nintendo game in 2022. And didn't release anything in 2023. They kept announcing delays to both the next actual NASCAR game and the Indycar game they were "working on." So i know a lot about falling titans in racing games.
This really explains why i only have 70 hours of play time the least ever on a f1 game
“Once you get to the point where you play the same game over and over again it gets boring.” Yeah tell that to Madden fans
F1 2015 was built on the EGO 3 engine (not EGO 4, that does not exist). EGO 2 was an intermediate step that was notably used to create F1 Race Stars. EGO 1 (and variants of that) were used for the older racing titles and the DiRT series. The GRID reboot used a fork of EGO3
F1 24 uses EGO 4.1.
I would love a IMSA WeatherTech Racing game.
Paired with a career mode similar to this and that would be perfect. To bad that Lemans Ultimate game is owned by MSG
It’s funny how everyone hates because it’s not EA … since 2022 we final received track updates which basically never happened with Codemasters … we got Silverstone Austria Catalunya Texas etc
Am I the only one that misses the controller feel of the last engine? I loved sitting on the couch and playing 2013, still do honestly.
I'm tired of pulling out my wheel to have half an experience with F1 games. 2020 came the closest to feeling like 2013, but it was still sluggish in comparison. There's built in dampening in the new engine and there's no way to get the old feeling back, kind of sucks.
I also still remembered that F1 2017 to 2021 MAXED OUT cars were very exciting.
I must say... F1 23 is the best one for me simply because of how amazingly fun the handling is with a controller.
Sank 700 hours in it, compared to F1 2020 at 50 hours or so.
The main issue for me with those games is that something always seems to be off. In 2021 and 2022 it was the handling and in 2023 the terribly balanced AI.
In 2020 I had to do one short qualifying on each track to know the exact AI level that suits me there and the best part is that the time gained per AI percentage was exactly 0.100 seconds and 0.200 seconds on ultimate level.
That gap got more inconsistent and therefore harder to calculate and the AI got even more inconsistent, now even between sessions and game modes.
If I have to fiddle around with such settings and have to restart a quali and then a race for 4 or 5 times just to find out the right AI level then the game is already trash.
i wish they made the multiplayer like how it is in GT7
the handling and physics of 2023 are way better than the previous games, so i wouldnt rate it low. But i do miss additional tracks, individual calendar, Career and MyTeam improvements + historic cars
I just want to play the latest version of f1(2024) with the best graphics but with the ability to go through seasons from 2014-2021
i didn't play F1 from 2004 so now that i play f1 23 is amazing i play it once or twice a week fro 4 to 7 hours and it is awesome
A lot of people complain about classic cars being removed, but let's be real, no-one used them when we had them for more than a couple of hours.
every simulator car i ve played has lack of grip on front tires , when i drive with my old skoda 100 km /h and do sharp turns there is no lose of grip car turns instantly , but when i go in rfactor f1 iracing and try to turn or countersteer in a drift sims like car is flying on water and they are racing cars should have much more grip than my old fabia
The first CodeMasters F1 game with classic cars was 2013. And they never did it better.
Maybe I'm being negative but My Team in 2020 didn't blow me away. It was fun developing the car by collecting points for it during free practice but I really missed the on-track influence as an owner. You have a team mate who's usually shit at completing tasks to get dev points and you have absolutely no control over them. I would have loved to see and change their strategy for example or have any control over their role as a team member.
I played one team but I stopped after season 3 because development got really broken and suddenly everyone else got like a second faster than me and my competitors' car suddenly got way better than mine even though I was the constructor champion with a shitload of points to develop.
Perfectly summarized
Thanks bro!
So is F1 2023 just a reskinned F1 2020? If you never played the F1 games which would you start with, 20 or 23?
Why isn't 2020 available on Steam anymore, does anybody know?
I would definitely recommend 2020. You can still buy it used as a disc for console or you can get a steam game code on certain websites. They removed it from Steam, so that if you want to play F1 you have to buy the latest game for full price, instead of getting the older ones for cheaper...

F1 racing games peaked with Grand Prix Legends (about 20-25 years after release, due to modding).
"My peak goal is 100 subscribers"
Me thinking you said 100k, but realising you forgot the "thousand" part:
"Wait... Lemme check... 101 SUBSCRIBERS?! I THOUGHT YOU HAD LIKE 70k"
Thanks for the kind words mate, really means a lot. 🧡 A long, long way till 100k, but I'm very happy I've reached the 100!
Another huge issue is f1 manager
They will not implement any cool RnD and other cool career stuff that would benefit from some those ideas used in those games in the f1 series games
Last F1 game I owned was 2012. I bought '23 and it's been exactly what I wanted. Perfectly happy with the career mode.
Swap the top arrow in the thumbnail with 2017 and the bottom one with 2020 and it would reflect the consensus in 2020.
The F1 Game franchise is fine. The 2024 game looks like it's gonna be a miss, but it's good to see they're taking a year to experiment with the handling a bit so the 2025 game will be better.
the best f1 car right now is the AMS2 2024 formula ultimate gen2 with 1.6 tyre model!
the sensation from the ffb u getting feeling the down force underneath the car is almost holy🤙
I think the F1 games tend to go through better and worse phases over time. F1 2015 was a disappointment but 2016 saw numerous improvements. The classic cars were great but lacked authenticity compared to simulators and it definitely needed classic tracks like 2013. I think the handling is much better and less trigger happy compared to 2022 and the AI is more of a challenge/less harsh. Red flags have been in/out of the game over the years too. Braking Point is good, but should be a 3-part story to keep it interesting. Career mode definitely needs something new.
My leauge racing careere peaked in f1 2020 were i won 6 races across doffrent leauges in my home country. I love that game and slowly lost intrest with more games relesing, even switching to pc didnt work and i lost the passion to the point i sold my fanatec wheel thats how bad it was. I'd been obsessed with F1 games since I was old enough to hold a controller - the mid nineties. I remember going out at midnight to get F1 2015 as it was the first one on PS4 and I couldn't wait for the new graphics...2020 was the last one I bought. Thankfully I haven't wasted my time and money since. Lazy cash grabs.
U are right! Every time I start playing career mode after 2 or 3 circuits I m bored. Is the same career mode ,nothing new to do.I always said that EA promise lots but delivers broken games or features removed.
I found myself driving stock car ovals in iRacing when I was tired of F1 23
They could just make a single IP and keep developing that, add things like Formula E F2, F3 and of course classic cars. foster a fanbase for it and monetise it in a sensible way (not that id trust EA to do that tbh) you'd be suprised how profitable a well liked and popular game is
Excellent video bro! I’ve been seeing your videos around more and more, and you definitely earned a sub from me! I personally LOVED F1 2021 the most. I enjoyed F1 22 also, but 23 was 22 was 2021 was 2020 lmao 😂

1:29 That is not true. F1 2013 had classic F1 cars and even classic F1 tracks that weren't in the F1 calendar that particular year.
F1 2013 had classic cars. It was the Classic Edition
this popped up in my feed and I haven't watched yet, but my personal gripe with the f1 games is they're all literally the same game, every single year
That’s because the models broken. People want a realistic game based on a real sport released every year. You can only go far with realism before it’s just tiny tweaks that the people complaining they want more realism don’t even realise (case in point I saw a guy arguing this track looks terrible they should really start scanning the actual circuits so it’s more accurate…at the time the games only scanned a handful of circuits the one he was complaining about was one of them) and turning a game around in less than 12 months leads to the inability to really add any innovation. Rather than being a new game it’s an updated version of the previous title.
Problem is said fans complaining about the lack of updates would complain if they didn’t get a yearly game because they’re used to it, while the developers and publishers won’t listen to the complaints and think about adding an extra year to development because people are still handing over a tonne of money
@@elcactusdelamuerte506 The same people are probably also buying the game every year, thus giving EA all the fuel it needs to lift and coast most years in terms of improving gameplay, adding needed features, and fixing any mistakes they made from the previous year.
Consumers really need to stop rewarding mediocrity. I picked it up on PSN for nothing, and I have to say I still wasn't that impressed with it.
"Rebuilt from the ground up" always gives me major 🚩🚩
Codasters was on the same mentality as EA before being acquired. It was a perfect marriage. Codies had already been copy pasting games for years (12/13/14 for example), introducing features and removing others just to bring them back (see interviews).
Also, F1 2013 was the first to introduce classic cars, but people forget this because CM removed them literally one year later.
They have 0 interest in making a proper F1 game, mostly because they would just need to update it yearly with the new models. Blimey, they could even allow you to have a career mode progressing from one year to the other by buying the new models once ready (see F1 challenge 99). People were discussing for years in the hope of codies letting other companies takeover the brand.
Let’s stop sanctifying Codemasters, shall we?
Id enjoy it more if online actually gave penalties to the people who purposely crash into you, or hard break on a straight because they don't want to be passed for their lack of driving skills.
wish all of F1 game got F1 23 treatment with precision drive like 2020 21 22 theres weird ass delay on controller where steering goes left to right right to left you cant even catch oversteer in these old game.
23 handling in controller is more like Skill based and risk to you drive the car, simply you can catch oversteer coming out lower gear more effectively while sacrificing your tyres this never happens in 2020 you'd better use flashback then anything else
