@@shaymenashe2742 lift with lighter weight and focus on form and symmetry ahead of weight until you’re strong enough on the other side to lift heavier weight
@@UNITDW Can it also have to do something with my chest bone structure, because i feel like my left side chest bone are little bit "deeper" than my right side
@@shaymenashe2742 it can, lots of people have asymmetry in their chest shape, and that can have an impact on the attachment of the muscle. It doesn’t mean that muscle can’t grow to the same size as the other side though, it just means it needs to be targeted by exercises that will force you to use both muscles equally, dumbbell presses are a great one for that.
Some other things to consider: - More fat tissue on one pec, including gyno. This often happens on one side only for hormonal reasons. I suffer from this myself and am natural - Muscle insertions are not always symmetrical, so while you could grow one pec to make them appear more symmetrical they might never have the same look. I'd have to say shoulder asymmetry is the most common reason I see for imbalances and injuries related to benching. All of my problems related to benching went away when I started to implement either reverse flys or some form of lat/pulling movement before or during my chest workout.
More fat tissue on one pec. That's what my problem is actually the same with my left arm too. I wondered if I could just diet and cardio it away but then I'll look super skinny one one side and not the other lol. Know of any way to sort this out?
Thanks Mike. I have been looking for a solution for this over for so long and you’re the only one who addressed the root causes. One of the reason why I have been following you for years!

Sub’d - that was the simplest and easy to understand practical advice. Whenever I look for advice I get loads of people drawing diagrams, referring to different random studies then talking about skeletal unevenness for 20-30 minutes. This was just something simple and straightforward I can easily implement in my training. 👍🏼 Thanks Mike.
I always thought it was because I have 1 shoulder that leans more towards the front of my body because I've had surgery on it when I was very young. But all your tips make sense so I'm gonna try them all out and see what I'm doing wrong, thank you once again, Mike! Love your content 😁
My fucking guy, been struggling with uneven chests for 2 years since starting , was told that it would even out with time. Shits almost twice as big as the other. You absolute beauty
Mike i am glad and grateful to have found your channel. I have learned a lot from you, thanks to your great training experience. Had this problem, only trained my weak side for 6 months. That did the job. One side was growing the other wasn’t. That’s what is needed to fix an uneven chest.
Thanks a lot. I have one sided scapular wing which lead to uneven chest, front delt and tricep. This helped a lot along with my strengthening exercises for serratus anterior.
Nice 1 Mike. I'm gna give this a go, and start from a really light weight again. Just goes to show how important it is for newbies to leave their ego at the door and get their form right in the early stages. I've progressed incorrectly, and now I'm back to square one. It is what it is, but I hope anybody reading will benefit from this. Thanks again.
I think BB pressing has been a great source of frustration for me because it’s masking my left pec weaknesses. Definitely switching out to DB pressing for a few phases. Maybe add a few reps on the left as well?
I'm 6.4 and have a miner scoliosis on my left side which fucks me up on all my lifts... My right lat is wider than my left one, that also fuck up my bench set up and I end up pressing with my shoulder which causes me solder problems -,-
Mike when I am doing a dumb bell chest workout incline or flat bench I find myself struggling at end of a set, we're my elbows are not being level on my down movement. I have this problem & have been trying to fix it for a month or so, genuinely find it hard for my left shoulder to stay on the bench when I’m dumbbell pressing, will give these a go. Also would you recommend doing more sets and reps on the weaker side?? That’s what I’m unsure on
weakness in the back or tightness in the back. strengthening isn't always more important than releasing tension with tissue work or a myofascial release.
We all have one part of our muscles that's bigger than the other one. Yeap, trust me on that. I've shown that on my channel that it is not possible to get both arms to be equally strong or both legs to be equally looking big.
Or just db press but with both arms! And see which side gives up first. Just do you db presses for a while untill you notice your weaker side is catching up to your stronger side🙏🏼
K1's gaming yes I hope mike responds. But one side sticks out more than the other. Is it normal or should I start doing more on the side that’s not as developed
So my right pec is smaller & the left took good shape but my right arm is more dominant which is why i think its easier to move the load & theres more resistance on my left causing an imbalance
Ive been dealing with this for 2 years and past 3months I’ve said fuck it and im only working out my right pec untill theyre even. Lots of people dont recommend this though so I’ll update you in a couple months or so
So I have a question. If I played Tennis competitively and my right side of my body is more flexible widened basically for range of motion. For example my shoulder front, mid and back all developed very well along with my triceps. So based on the extensive repetition of serving and doing forehands along with one handed back hands. This has made my chest, obliques, abs, bicep, tricep on the right side are way more cut than my left side along with being collective to each other and it takes so much more to get a pump feeling. My big problem is that I might be able to hit up a gym for a should two weeks straight then I’m always on Wellsite locations steering the well for about a month so I do push ups pull ups squats with a weight vest and sand bag. So I’m limited on I guess movements and isolating one side. Any suggestions? The only way see myself fixing this is learn how to play tennis left handed. Haha
Is there anything that can be done if you find that one entire side of your body seems bigger than the other? My entire left side, is smaller than my right.. Pec, biceps forearms, quads.... even my left testicle is smaller than my right!! I see this issue mostly with my pecs, and when I wear a fitting t-shirt, other people can see it too... being unsymmetrical is really embarrassing.. Is it a lost cause?
Do a little extra volume on your smaller pec too gents. It will help you to catch the smaller one up with the bigger one. For example an extra dropset for single arm cable flys.
What do you recommend if I can't keep my shoulders retracted doing the dumbbells but not on with barbell? I think it could be just fatigue since I do them after barbell
Women think I’m insane for trying to fix every little detail on my body, at least Mike understands.
