Blame your government and all restrictions they have been requiring to keep climate temperature from going up 0.0000001 degrees.

Inflation and accountants make the decision for the engineers unfortunately.
I played golf last year with a certified GM/Buick technician and I asked him what engines and transmissions I should stay away from. His reply; “All of them”

Toyota is still the best you can buy. Even they have had a few hits to quality in the modern era, but they are still by far your best odds of getting a good vehicle. Toyota, Mazda, and Honda are still the best brands. Honda has taken a lot of hits as of late from oil dilution issues, but those can be solved with earlier oil changes or weekly highway rides for 30 mins or greater to burn off the excess gas in the oil.
I will never forgive Ford for hanging the iconic 'MACH' label on what's essentially an EV SUV. And if you're financing anything, short of a home, for seven years, you're absolutely clueless.
The issue is the ridiculous costs of the vehicles. Maybe if they didn't load them up with all these needless electronic gizmos, the companies could actually put out an affordable product. We need to go back to the Henry Ford philosophy. Keep it simple and reliable and sell lots of them to make a profit, not trying to milk each unit for maximum profit.
As for the abominable Mach E, as the owner of a 2004 Mach 1, I couldn't agree more!!!
It is pretty standard to do 7 year loans any more. My last car I financed was my 2016 Ford Focus and it was at 1.5% for a 7 year loan. Shorter terms were no cheaper so it was a no brainer. I ended up paying it off in 2.5 years, but if something happened like I lost my job or something like that, I wouldn't have as high a payment to worry about. I did have that issue with another car 0% but had to be paid off over 3 years. I lost my job for 6 months, in there and the new job paid 20% less, so I was in a world of hurt with that car payment.
@@markmccraley2559 Simple reality, if you're financing a new car for 7 years and can't pay it off way earlier, then you're in a world of hurt financially. And at the end of that 7 year stint, that car you have will be worth virtually nothing.

i took out a property tax loan and was laid off from 2 different jobs both within 6 months. this economy is cooked.
That is true, when I purchased my first Focus I had a 3 year 0% loan, but when I lost my job for 6 months, and lost 20% of my salary with the new job, it really hurt. My next car I got a 7 year loan, but paid it back in about 2.5 years. The interest rate wasn't any different. I bought another Focus though, so my payments weren't huge to begin with. I think the problem is when you buy a car you can't really afford and then extend it out 7 year to make it affordable. Probably a good rule is buy a car where you can afford the payments over three years, but then extend it to 7 if it the interest rates aren't different.

If the vehicle is 2006 or older, I'm interested. If it's 2007 or newer, it HAS to be Toyota or Honda for me to even CONSIDER it.

The actual Mustang is worth having, I have a classic one, just need to get to the point of "restoring" it. As for the "Mach-e" they made a "MOCKER-e" with it....

Got one myself,2000 Sport 5sp 3,9l 229K. I recommend getting one with of course less miles, and it's bound to be a smarter buy than a new Ram.
I'll keep driving my 1995 Ford Ranger xlt 2.3l with the 5 speed manual, with 342,165 original miles. Mainly routine maintenance.
Lucky you, had the same engine in a 79 Mustang and the well maintained engine took a crap at 40,000 miles.
@@don6one380 this is a 95 sorry for the typo, this is the flat four, with eight spark plugs no interference engine. Did you spin a bearing? My timing belt snapped and I replaced it with a new one and nothing broke. Sorry to hear that. My 95 is still doing good for the miles and age.

I had ranger about that year and It had almost 500 thousand miles on it well I think it was like 450.000 I sold and saw it running around town for a couple of years.
I am still trying to figure out how a one year old vehicle can get a quality award.

Guy at work, drives a 62 falcon every day that sat in his dads yard for 20 years. Paint is bad ,we are in nj. But he has something like $300 and a battery. And the thing here every day

My friend just bought a Jeep even though I said not to. Ended up having a blown head gasket before they even drove it home on like a 2 hour drive. The entire engine had to be replaced. Can you make an entire video on why Jeeps are junk?

Dealers seemed to be stacked with inventory. They gotta provide discounts to sell them. Also most of them are expensive but junk . They wont last 10 years
I know people who worm in gm corporate and they dont owm the same vehicle for more than 2 years. I fact every time ive seen the guy hes in a new gm vehicle. Even gm is scared to own their own vehicles long term

I spoke with the local Ford dealer about a month ago. He said “If I had 50 hybrid Mavericks, I could sell them in a week. Instead, I have five battery powered boat anchors that absolutely nobody wants”. He was pointing to three battery F-150s and two battery Mustangs.
I love my 2016 F150 with 187,000 miles on it. Runs and shifts like a new vehicle. Simple XL standard cab with a 3.5 NA engine, tow package with 3.73 rear. Uses so little oil (if any) you can't judge with the stick between changes. They all depend on how they're maintained.

I was waiting for this problem to arrive. Honestly speaking, this predicament is long overdue. Nowadays cars are simply unaffordable, and manufacturers simply refuse to cut prices. They are blinded by greed. They would rather extend the payment period than reduce the price.
Hundreds of new Ford vehicles are packed like sardines on empty acreage behind my local Ford dealer, gathering dust, bird poop, and soon to be probably hail damage from approaching severe thunderstorms. They've been sitting there for months, never seen anything like it.

I responded to a survey about the VW dealer that sold me my diesel jetta (which I had to resell at a loss to VW due to their cheating on emission testing). I gave the survey taker a even handed, thoughtful, fair answer to each question. The following week the service manager at the VW dealer call me at home and told me I needed to call the survey company and to request to edit or withdraw my survey answers. I politely declined his request and he became angry and repeated my home address from their records and asked me again to withdraw my survey reply. Again I declined. I was then told not to return to the dealership for any reason. The car was still under warranty but I no longer had a local dealer to do business with. It's the last VW that will ever be in my garage. I then purchased a Subaru Outback which has been a decent car but the dealer has weaseled on every warranty issue then class action lawsuits required Subaru to honor the warranty I had with their batteries and windshields.
This exact same thing happened to me in north Idaho at a dodge dealer.
No they aren’t!!! I was interested in a transit connect cargo van but they have it for $37,000. They tell me it’s their last one and they aren’t making them anymore “thank you for your time” they told me. In other words go away. That’s what a Ford dealership tells me when I question the price for that thing. Which is ridiculously overpriced but won’t budge on the price. They are not worth $37,000

Yeah, but what he's also saying is they are stretching the financing out which in a way you can say is cheaper in the aspect of the customer paying lower monthly payments but overall it will be more expensive. deceptive practice in a way. Very borderline stuff.

@@jamesparrish9613 at 3k miles the transmission would slam into gear. So you’d be sitting at a stop and the truck would slam and lurch forward. You can feel it when it shifts too. It started off mild and got to a point where it feels like you’re being rear ended. Took them months to get it in. Then months to fix. The problem is better but not fixed. Also all kinds of electrical issues. My 12v battery won’t stay charged so it goes into “system off” mode to preserve battery then my lights and stuff don’t work when I come out to it. The rear camera holds a frozen screen prolly 5% of the time when backing up. I know my service department far too well. Wasting my time being there. It’s a $73k new truck. I bought so I didn’t have to fix things.
I didn't even know they made a F-150 hybrid. We have a 2023 Expedition that cost around $75K but it's been flawless so far, no issues. I bought the extended warranty just in case too, there's so much crap that can go wrong with these new vehicles.

The bottom line is people dont want to be "forced" to buy an all electric vehicle. Just because thats what the current administration wants us to do.

They were doing 0% for 72mo here in Colorado. In truck month, F150s were 0% for 72mo and they still have full stock on the lots.
They must think the consumer doesn't look at the price tag.

That won't happen with the latest generation. At 40K miles my Ranger XLT was on its third transmission.

For the record, my statements from my New York EZ-Pass come from Albany. I have had EZ Pass for years now because it saved me having to carry cash. My sisters put off getting it until the state started pulling the toll booths and they were required to use them. Then we discovered it saved us all of 10 minutes each way to go to visit our parents and it was easier to take the regular state highways.
Nothing like a strong black coffee and Scotty speaking with a British accent to get me going, in the morning!
I'd do a 7 or 8 year loan on a new LX570 lexus.. They are so nice and i know for sure it will work long after the loan is over.
Similiar to the congestion tolls you were refering to, they are talking about doing that here in Nashville, TN.

There is a closed Ford plant loaded with pickups in the parking lot. They are stacked in there like cordwood, it's crazy. Not sure if they are ICE or electric ⚡

Toyota counts dont act like theyre this magical epitome of quality when we all know it was only.there for a moment ten years before i was even born 35 years ago. Theyre just as junk as anything else now. Slapping that T on a plastoc pievw of junk doesnt make it quality 😂😂
@@jakewillits4678 definitely there is no longer quality with just about anything, most parts are Chinese and people don't put as much care into things anymore, plus accountants run the show for how much they are allowing costs for parts and time frame's and how thin the metal is on cars now like a coke can, I only buy cars before 2000 and so far not much going wrong, and easily fixed no computers driving it

The Washington DC Subway (Metro) used to charge a surcharge during peak hours. They eliminated that last year
My 2024 F-350 has 1287 miles on it and check engine light. Crankshaft position sensor sending erratic signals. I really wish Honda would make a one ton truck.

Heat damper problem: I've repaired the same in a 1980's GMC They call it a "blend door actuator." Motor Time Guide said to bill 6 hours due to the time involved getting the part out and putting it back together. I just broke into the box and wired it in place for heat. That means you have to do it twice a year, barring extreme unseasonal conditions. I showed the customer how to do it in the future. I okayed it with them before hand, fully informing them. It worked out fine.
When the radiator is low the heat won't come up good either and that should be the very 1st thing everyone checks.

Would not buy a modern vehicle that I had to sign off on a 84 month loan. I always felt 60 month was stretching it.

While everyone is focused on quality and it is a major issue, folks are missing how difficult it is to get a Ford fresh off the lot repaired under warranty. Almost 90 days for a transmission replacement on a 2020 Ranger XLT with 40K miles. Can't get the parts, don't have a certified technician or enough of them, too many recalls in the way, etc. What a mess!
Our family came to Canada in 1982, my uncle bought the first FORD sedan, and he was struggling throughout the years. He told us: If you want to be mechanic buy FORD or American brands. If not buy Japan brand -HONDA and TOYOTA! I don't mean to degrade Ford or the American brands but i follow my uncle advise and he was right.
Jeeps use ZF Friedrichshafen transmissions today. Same transmissions as BMW, Lamborghini, Bentley, Rolls-Royce, Aston Martin..
I love my F150 lightning. Not sure why people complain about EVs. 🤔 Paid $25 first service to just rotate my tires and I save $15 a day in gas going to and from work compared to my old Ecoboost F150. 1/2 my charging energy comes from my solar panels. Always charge at home.
I am a happy Ford owner. This is my 4th F150 since 2006.

Car manufacturers have created their own problems. They has increased prices so much it's out of most peoples affordable price range.
The loyalty on a brand new car makes no sense. The demand for the new Ford Maverick is pretty wild though.
A Jeep Grand Cherokee’s engine caught on fire in front of my house a couple of weeks ago around midnight. Scared the living sh*t out of me woke me up out of a deep sleep just glad my husband was home at the time and was still awake he quickly ran out with the fire extinguisher to try and help them out the best he could before the fire truck arrived. Just glad the Jeep didn’t explode and nobody got hurt. Wouldn’t ever recommend a Jeep to anyone after that.
Had a dealership tell me they had ‘lots of vehicles sitting for 300 days and over, and it’s not a big deal’. Would not negotiate OTD with us. They are stubborn around here.
They would have to throw in a warranty that last the entire term of the finance.

I've always had ford, my only complaints have been the Sync quality. I got a f-150 XL a few months ago, and so far so good *Cross fingers*. I refused to get a hybrid, I went with the good ole V8
I’ve had a MachE since 2021 & now a MachE GT. I’ve had zero issues with either one of them; I took the 0% for 60 months & added an extended warranty from Ford. GM trucks are almost like working on a special vehicle because you have to have a mechanic that understands how they work and what the problems are with them.For example the 2022 -24 GM went with new type of fuel pump and they have been having a lot of problems with them and the dealerships you really can’t trust them so the only truck I would buy with the GM would be the 6.6l Allison Diesel that they have been making forever even though I do like the 5.3 and 6.2 l gas engines.

Here's an idea for those 72 and 84 month loans. There should be a requirement that the minimum 3yr/60K miles warranty on the vehicle has to be extended for as many months as the finance installment period. Seems like a reasonable request. If the manufacturer wants to have the consumer believe that they have purchased a reliable, quality product they should be willing to warranty it for the entire loan repayment period until the purchaser actually owns the vehicle.
