I completely agree the webcam was a highlight on this laptop, its pretty much a high standard other manufacturers should catch up on. For me webcam wise this is the benchmark of good webcam, like macbook speakers are benchmark for good sounding speakers.
I was surprised they managed to fit a camera like that given the svelteness of the lid. Impressive. The microphone could be a tad fuller sounding, for those days I don’t fancy using an Audio Technical M50XSTS with mic.
Big thank you and best wishes @Sir Shittu, one day we hope we get that many subs. My family and I thank you for the support and hopefully our journey together will be a fruitful one of knowledge.
I bought the HP 15.6 ENVY ryzen 5 on 12/22/22 and love it! I used it to make music and play GTA 5, Just Cause 3 and The Witcher 3 well above 30 fps Usb C charging
Excellent review! You touched on everything. I just placed an order for this exact model but with an i5. Can't wait to play with it! Did you have any issues with the hinges after long term use?
As an owner of two defective 15.4" envy x360 laptops, I cannot recommend this product. I purchased my first in December, used it for about 8 weeks, and out of nowhere, the screen flipped upside down as if it was in tablet mode. I attempted to reboot it, but the computer never came back on. No LED indicators, no signs of life. Long story: Since it was still under warranty, I called the support center and spent about two hours on the phone before they asked me to send it to their service center for a repair. Two weeks later, I received it back, tried to turn it on, and nothing happened. It was as if the service center did nothing but forward it straight back to me. I sent it back a second time (after another 2 hour call). A week passed, and the tracking information showed that it had never been received. I called them, waited on the phone for the default hour or so, and was assured that they'd received it but the tracking information hadn't been updated. Three weeks passed, and the tracking information never showed received. And I hadn't received any update from HP. Once again, I spent an hour waiting to get someone on the phone, and I finally reached someone who spoke clear English. I asked what happened. The representative said he had "no visibility or contact" with the service center it was shipped to. I asked how it was possible their own service center couldn't contact the other service center. He said he didn't know but that it's always been like that. I received my laptop back about 10 days later in the same condition I'd sent it in the first two times. I got back on the phone explaining how I wouldn't send it in again and that I'd like a replacement or refund. They said they couldn't rebuild it but would send me a similar laptop. They sent me a refurb with slightly better specs. I received it today. Guess what happened when I tried to turn it on. Blank screen (I can't make this up). This replacement/refurb has a different problem than my original. My original shows no signs of life, whereas the replacement unit shows LED power indicators and makes boot noises. Short story: Due to my experience with HP, this product, their service center and their escalation department, I will say that I have no confidence in this company, so buyer beware. HP makes most of its profits from big companies: defense contractors and so forth. So a single individual like myself is not on their radar. If your product works, great. If not, good luck beating the odds!
Extremely appreciated the support @Knack, my daughter was correcting me so thought I would let her do it properly :D. Thank you hopefully able to take some good key points to make wise decision :)
I really like this new Envy x360, but can't find a good spec one anywhere in Aus. HP's own site only has old models in anything but silver, and the only shop I can find with the blue model is JB hi-fi. They don't offer anything but FHD screens though. So frustrating!
Still waiting for HP to release this version (13.3" in Space Blue) in the US..... Only the Silver version which has silver and silver keyboard and its hard to see the keys in normal room lighting
I think the Space Blue will be nice looking and cut through the usual grey, black or silver finish. I am currently testing the HP Spectre and it has Silver finish and I understand what you are referring to in regards to the keys @J R.
Does the stylus come with or separately from the laptop cause I have the same laptop but I didn't get a stylus with. So what type of stylus do I buy for the laptop??
Very detailed review. I am looking at HP Envy x360 13-ay1019au model at the moment, can you comment on this? For my son who is going to learn video editing.
The AMD version of the Envy x360 is good and the graphics is better than the Intel version so that is a plus, I would be ready to upgrade the RAM to 16GB if the model you got him only has 8GB, which will help quite a bit for video editing the extra memory.
Hi there. I just have a question. I was wondering which one is better between macbook air m1 vs hp envy x360 13.3 12th gen i5 512gb ssd, 8/16gb ram. Please help me choose thank you.😊
Generally speaking, only buy a 2-in-1 if you specifically plan on using the touch screen. I think the air m1 only comes with 8g RAM which isn’t really enough nowadays so I personally wouldn’t get that. Also apple devices are usually much worse value specs-wise than counterparts, so imo the only reason to get one is for specific software such as Logic Pro or the apple ecosystem.
Omg 😳 I’m from Canada but i live currently in Japan and today i was going to buy this laptop but i was so lucky to come accidentally to this video! 😮 i definitely decided not to buy it after i saw 250 comments from people that faced the same issue and had a nightmare with HP . The problem isn’t exclusive to this model only but a lot of other HP laptop models as well. I have friends who live in Europe who was unlucky to buy normal HP laptops ( not 2 in 1 / convertible) and had huge issues with them . Some of my friends ended up smashing their Hp laptop with anger 😢 Me myself is a regular user for Lenovo laptops . I owned lenovo 360 convertible since 2016 until 2023 and been closing and opening the hinges roughly on daily basis and nothing happened until now. But the only reason i wanted to switch to this HP model that they said it’s smaller and lighter than Lenovo ! But now i know it’s not worth it. I advise everyone to buy Thinkpad Lenovo convertibles as they’re really the toughest business laptops in the market. They’re even used on board of the space stations and the rough engineering environments. Avoid buying HP , DELL , Panasonic laptops at all costs.
I was looking for a review of this exact model for some closer shots and benchmarks. This is just what I needed, thanks!
Don't really care for the laptop, but that webcam is just top notch. Hopefully other manufactures will finally catch up

Great video, super in-depth addressing all the right points, thanks!
Glad I was able to address major points as that is the aim for practical review with data and experience.

I got one recently. It is an exceptionally good device, no issues at all.
I look this is the brilliant alternative for a lot pricey ROG Flow X13 that I cannot afford yet

need link
00:11:45 cool down bro 😂😂😂
Does this laptop come with a pen in the box?
The pen came separately in its own box so when you purchase this laptop check with the vendor if they bundle the pen with the Envy.
What about hinge
Compare to other laptops and 2-in-1s I have tested and experienced, the Envy's hinge is quite up there ranking in the top pack!
