ABOUT US: We are a family of five sailing around the world on a performance catamaran named "Archer" and sharing our adventures in family-friendly episodes every Tuesday (and sometime Wednesday)!
OUR ROUTE: We departed the Boston area of the United States and sailed south to the Caribbean and then west through the Panama Canal. We have dealt with massive repairs in the South Pacific, the Coronavirus lock down in New Zealand, a Category 5 Cyclone in Fiji, and now we are cruising in Australia.
OUR PAST: You may remember us as "SV Honeymoon?" Ten years ago ("before kids"), we sailed a Lagoon 380 named Honeymoon halfway around the world to Sydney, Australia. Along the way we shared our experiences via UA-cam and, by happenstance, created one of the very first "sailing channels." We also realized what an incredible experience we were having and that someday we wanted to do it again, only this time with kids.

THANKS for watching all. Subscribe and never miss an episode!
Sydney rarely looked better. Love your films.
I am 65, Australian, and was one of three boys. The energy and enthusiasm and health I see in your boys reminds me so much of my family when young.
It is so wholesome. Great to see you all eating healthy, staying active, and doing stuff other than computers!
God Bless you in your travels and endeavors, and may you in turn be a blessing to others.
Onwards and Upwards
Welcome to Sydney guys. We are a small world City, but very proud of it. I hope we give you a good show.
I have grand kids 3000 miles away. It is good to see your kids playing with lorikeets like my grandson in Jacksonville Zoo. I have a friend from Canada who depended on their social medicine to remove a tumor from her tongue. They accidently stopped the blood flow. Liberty's tongue turned black, and she went into a coma. They wanted to remove her tongue her dad Joshua Mills Gold prayed and 23 days later she came out of the hospital with a new tongue. Miracle from Heaven! If she needed a new tongue we have medbeds now. Look up my friend Joshua Mills Gold and medbeds in Florida.
Great video as always. I love how you put so much work into editing. It is never boring and gets the story across so well. Hope there'll be another meetup when SV Archer reaches Europe one day.
Love the Scottish accent of Pierce. I wonder how the boat schooling go through with the boys. They love to present their project to grandma and grandpa.
Always have loved the content with the kids and your parents. Makes me cry every time. Such sweet boys. Such amazing grandparents. Makes me think of my parents and their transition to grandparents. Another wonderful video. Those boys are so lucky in ways that they'll only understand in years to come.
Your boys will never have a problem in geography. What an amazing classroom. Thank you for sharing your dream with us.
The Australian travel association owes you a debt, you make it look even more amazing.... thanks family . Stay safe...
The yougest boy's facial expressions at the zoo were priceless; and he certainly is quite the character with the Scotish accent Well done Archer ⛵⛵⛵⛵⛵
Wholesomeness to the nth degree.👍
He's a sweet kid. He loves all animals. 🦁 Even fish! ~S
Great another video from a really nice family. Love to watch your adventures. The kids are wonderful and I'd be real proud if they were my grandsons.
Down under is just amazing , another gem video from you guys :)
Love the racing lament Seth! Coulda, shoulda, woulda!! (Been there, done that! Antigua race week). Love the videos family, keep them coming!
Love that your family are embracing Australia and making the best out of, what was a bad situation.
Great drawing. Well done 👍🏼
The larakeets are beautiful,as beautiful as our medbeds.
Great to see you had a feed at Ange & Trent's "Cottage Point Kiosk".
LOVELY VLOG, 🥰💖🙃😁❤☺💋
Nice memories of an afternoon sail on a beautiful harbour and getting run down by a big red cat towards the finish. Sailing past the Opera House and under the Bridge never get's old.
that was a great day. thanks for letting us join you all! ~Seth
Amazing! Thanks for sharing!
So well done. Love your videos. Am living vicariously through you folks.
Thanks for watching!
Okay I have no favorites but tonight Pierce with the bird and smile on his little face - and then he did the cutest school report I've ever heard so tonight you da man Pierce!
That was a great episode. The boys are living a charmed life and seem so happy. Many thanks for including us on your journey.😎⚓🌬⛵
As we've said before, what a family and we can't wait to see you on the water again!
Hi Seth, Liz and amazing boys. Thanks for an great catch up when you all came. Really enjoyed the meet up with you. We even got a spot on your video to cherish. Thanks again and safe sailing. Dale, Jill, Brian and Leonie
Love the videos as usual. Such a cool thing to share with us and I look forward to your video every week.
You make great video. Very pro. Those slow-mo bird shots were especially awesome! Maybe Taronga Zoo might like a copy?
Make sure you drop into Nelson Bay / Port Stephens on the way north, it is one of if not the prettiest harbours on the way up the coast
Yes, I did watch the boat tour by Multihull Central.. That was awesome! A very detailed one..
Top Stuff..awesome flow
Your editing is masterful. I watch you for the sailing content, but even a zoo trip with the family was great to watch. Thanks so much and stay safe.
I appreciate that! ~S
LOL.. Just found this, "Seth's film background includes making TV commercials for two of the world's largest advertising agencies." No wonder it's so well done. Good for you turning work into life. I think that's awesome!
@@RoguishHound I knew it! I knew it! I knew it!!!!
Hehe. 😁😁😁
I love Taronga zoo too.
Oh & sailing 😎🇦🇺👋
Love you guys! Thank you for raising the sails high for us all! 🍷
Our pleasure!
Hi sailing family! This is Sasha from Sydney and ever since you have told me about your channel I have watched every video, I really like seeing your adventures across the world and will be ready to see more in the future! I used to really like the zoo and I just want to say every video cheers me up.
Hey Sasha! Thanks for watching. We were talking about you and your family in this episode. It was so nice to meet you all and we will never forget how welcoming you all were. Hope to see you again as we sail South!
You too! (at 17:07 I agree) and every time my family goes sailing we ALWAYS go to cottage point! So it was cool to see you there too!
Wonderful to watch the boys at the zoo and the host on the boat! Fun!
They were great at the Meet and Greet. Lots of kids came to play! ~S
This is fast becoming my fav sailing channel on UA-cam! I always feel uplifted and happy after watching, both in myself and for you. I think it's the positive energy given off, even as you share disappointments and frustrations and the sadness of leaving friends behind each time you move on. But if you didn't move on, you wouldn't have met all those amazing people! Btw... my profile pic is me checking the twist in my cat's main on a speedy beam reach heading north, west of the Isle of Mull between Iona and Tobermory, Scotland. Every blessing! David Hendrie
One of our grooviest videos. filled with joy and happiness all the way threw.
Great video, guys! You make Sydney look SO good. Fun times and more fun times to come!
Can’t believe I missed Taronga Zoo while living in Sydney. Your boys are at an adorable age full of wonder & excitement. Enjoyed your Multi Hull talk. Great bunch of guys to meet up with. We’ll be reaching out to them when we buy our Cat. Can’t wait for boarders to re-open so I can get back up to Sydney again.
Thanks again!
Spending a night at that anchorage near the zoo you will hear some amazing sounds once the zoo closes down. Very pretty bay, and very interesting experience (and the fishing there isn't bad either).
We did that, and you're right! It was super cool!
I look forward to each episode... Because the boys will always cheer me up!! 3 brilliant young men you 2 are raising there!! ✌🏻💗😊❣️
Great videos, you can be proud of your family !!!
Thank you so much!
Love the channel, no acting or anything just sharing your amazing journey with us one of my top Sailing UA-cam Channels definitely!
Awesome! Thank you!
Great episode 🇦🇺🏆
I love the boys at the zoo interacting with you penguins 🐧
Until next week 🍷🍷🌈⛵️
Taronga zoo has changed a bit since I was there that was when I was 14 I'm 42 now.
Hopefully I'll get the chance again one day Australia is such a wonderful place, happy sailing stay safe
How cool for the fans to be able to meet you and your beautiful family and walk inside Archer ⛵⚓ and for you guys to revisit all the places you have been at as honeymooners 🏖 love the video ⚓
Cool vid and great to see your family taking advantage of some of the activities around our beautiful harbour. Pittwater is amazing and you’ve got to gotta love a casual meal at the Cottage Point Kiosk with your boat on their courtesy mooring right out front 👍
That was super fun! ~S
A great episode! The excitement from the boys has got me motivated this morning. Seeing the world through their eyes is wonderful. I can’t wait for your next adventures!
It wouldn't be as much fun without seeing their excitement. We just saw Dolphins heading to Low Isles and they're still just as excited as the first time. So cool. ~Seth
@@TheSailingFamily ❤️
Fresh air again to watch awsome adventure. Thanks!!!!
Thanks for another video of your amazing life!
You make great videos !
Thanks for sharing

Great memories. Was there for the Sydney to Hobart yacht race about 10 years ago and the zoo was a great addition to the trip. Loved it.
Awesome video this week. That zoo looked really cool, i have never been to one like that. I have to say Pierce and the bird was really cute. The boys are always so happy, it just makes me smile seeing them smile. What a cool way to grow up.
Great adventure, wishing i could have also met you and shown you some fantastic Sydney hospitality, but looks like you had it covered
Great episode TSF! Loved the zoo. Safe sails northward to you all. I was going to suggest lots of idillic places for you to stop at on the way up the coast, but then I remembered that you be at Whitsundays by August. So never mind. Hope you had a safe journey. Fair winds...
OMG the look on Pierce’s face with the animals, penguins and that bird! i see a veterinarian/zoologist in the making! even his report involved animals! (yes i lump dinosaurs with animals! ) another great episode! shocker! 🦩
Another great video, this time of my home waters. Wouldve seen you in Hamo for race week but... Thanks for sharing your journey, as we say " love your work". Fair winds and safe travels
Yeah. Tough year!!!
Cool another Sailing Family episode!! LOL that is how people die in Florida too funny :) but you could be right gators can hide anywhere in FL.. gibbons are cool animals!! Archer racing!! cool :) Yikes teenager age approaching :) whole new adventures :)
Best harbour
Wish you could come to the UK....although it's not exactly warm!
Great video! Always enjoyable!!
Thanks so much!
The Best Family Great Job🦅
You are so kind
👍
We would have been there, a pleasure to meet you all would be an understatement. Good on you.
Great zoo that one
It really is!
I love Elizabeth! She is such a beautiful person. Woops, my mind wandered there for a moment. Where was I? Oh, @ 4:17 the slow motion swing edited like the true professionals that I know you secretly are. #Archer goes Hollywood! Thanks for the ride along but Seth, you are starting to make me feel like a Cleveland Browns fan. Could you win one of these sailing regattas for us sailing fans? Thanks for another wonderful ride along...
Hey! We’re trying our best over here! 😂 In all fairness, we were busy transferring crew about five minutes before the start and we didn’t have any local knowledge, so we feel pretty good about how it went! And, the 23 minute penalty was just a guess by the organizers. It would be fun to regularly compete and see how we do. What a great club of multi enthusiasts!
@@TheSailingFamily Okaaaaaaay.... I will grant you another pass but pretty soon I might have to come over there and play second mate if you don't win one of these babies!
Very nice video. I always wanted to go to Sydney. You guys ever consider dry docking for a couple months and exploring Australia inland?
We would love to, but sadly it’s not in the budget. :(
But your video is on time anyway 😉 I'll have to watch little later since I'm out at the moment....
Yeah, I managed to find some time to edit. This wasn't my cleanest edit, but on time! 😉 ~Seth
@@TheSailingFamily "He's turning into a weird teenager" I would say it was still a great watch regardless!
Really cool thanks guys! The young man still didn’t get to hold a smelly Koala?
Haha. Not yet!
👍😎👍💕
I'm curious: does the bimini over your helm station require any changes to the boom/sail, or is that all standard? I've seen some mention of the boom being lifted and the sail recut to provide sufficient clearance over the bimini.
Yes, the gooseneck was raised slightly to allow it to go over the Bimini. I could be faster! ~Seth
@@TheSailingFamily Thanks Seth. How much sail area do you think you lose as a result? Knowing what you know now, would you choose to do this on a new boat?
Okay, this will probably provoke a fight, but have you ever heard of San Diego Zoo? When you sail back to the USA, you'll have to stop and spend some time in Southern California. Cheers!
You dont hold the jib until it just starts back winding in a tack ? Beer can racing - Great day on the water .
We do sometimes, but in heavy winds we have enough speed and momentum to get the bow around without doing so. And it slows down the tack if we do as trimming takes longer. ~Seth
I'd rate the tack we showed here as a C-. It wasn't very good...
@@TheSailingFamily C+ No one had a can in there hand .
You keep missing the best kept secret ,Lake Macquarie
We'll be back! Maybe November?! ~S
“That’s how people die in Florida” 😂😂
We have been in lockdown for months, how you go to the zoo?
This was filmed back in February.
so auto pilot does the tack steering also? you so could have won that race but its not always about winning.
Yeah, it’s pretty handy. You can’t use an auto pilot when racing, but when tacking up the harbor for fun it helps to free up hands. And it even remembers that your last tack was to port, so the next one is set to Starboard. ~S
What was the winning catamaran?
I think it was an older Seawind. But they got a head start!
That's how people die in florida... lol.
"That's how people die in Florida"....just about fell out of my seat. They die from getting eaten by alligators and not getting vaccinated.
