- WELCOME TO MUSICAL THEATER COMEDY HEAVEN!
Featuring one of the most iconic scores of all time by Jule Styne and Bob Merrill, a revised book from Harvey Fierstein based on the original classic by Isobel Lennart, tap choreography by Ayodele Casel, choreography by Ellenore Scott, and direction from Michael Mayer, this love letter to the theatre has the whole shebang!
The sensational cast, starring Katerina McCrimmon as Fanny Brice, Stephen Mark Lukas, Grammy Award-winner Melissa Manchester and Izaiah Montaque Harris, dazzles with the songs “Don’t Rain On My Parade,” “I’m the Greatest Star,” and “People.” This bittersweet comedy is the story of the indomitable Fanny Brice, a girl from the Lower East Side who dreamed of a life on the stage. Everyone told her she’d never be a star, but then something funny happened-she became one of the most beloved performers in history, shining brighter than the brightest lights of Broadway.

Katerina makes Lea Michele and Julie Benko look and sound like they were miscast for the Broadway role. Her voice brings a classic Broadway style to the role that you really don’t see or hear anymore in today’s casting. A classic Broadway musical NEEDS classic Broadway voices. Too bad they couldn’t find her early on. This woman’s voice and acting is just absolutely phenomenal. Saw her on this tour and her voice literally rang to the back of the house, bounced back to the front, and back again. Crazy to think she was just a music theatre student just 4 years ago, making her Broadway debut before she even graduated. This musical and its subsequent movie is decades before my time, but hearing her sing “People” LIVE transported me into an MGM-like experience I didn’t even know I needed. To not have a cast recording of her doing these timeless classics is really a great loss.
Well said! She's so incredible. I've run out of words
I saw her live….. bro… she was legitimately MADE for this role. Her singing and belting is so clear and has a vintage twang to it, and she brings in the accent to well….. she’s absolutely wonderful so if you have the chance to see her I HIGHLY recommend! Plus she has such great chemistry with all the other actors too!
Saw Katerina last night in Philly! Her performance gave me chills! I've been a fan of this music and musical for many years and she's a standout! She is definitely someone to watch. Could see her in many of the more challenging musical performances of Broadway. Better yet, someone should write a musical for her. I'm looking forward to seeing what she does next!
UNBELIEVABLE! We saw her at opening night in Los Angeles last night and were beyond blown away. She is superhuman. Go see her if you can. Be prepared to lift your jaw out of your lap.
Just saw her in Orange County. She was out of this world phenomenal. Best performance I’ve ever seen. Go see her if you can. What a talent.
I was there too! It was my first back seeing a show since the Pandemic hit. I used to live less than 30 minutes away. But now I live less then an hour away
Love reading the comments and seeing that everyone feels the same way I do! I saw Katerina last might in DC and she was just phenomenal. I can’t wait to see more of her!!!
I just went to see the show today in Costa Mesa! And this girl is such a stand out. Those are some vocal pipes right there!
Just saw her in ST LOUIS at the fox Wednesday. That was without a doubt one of the best performances I’ve seen at the fabulous fox..totally floored…
She was incredible!! I met her after the show in San Francisco and she was so sweet and she has a phenomenal voice!!❤️
Saw Katerina in Philly last night! I've been a fan of the show for many years and I got the chills from her performance! I put her up there with the greats! She is definitely someone to watch! Could see her in many of the demanding musical roles for broadway. Better yet, someone write a musical for her! Looking forward to seeing her in the future!
Saw Katerina in this role last night and she was incredible. Saw clips of the four ladies on Broadway and I think she beats all of them.
Absolutely agree! I saw her twice in Cleveland and she blew the roof off the theater. No reason why she can’t be on Broadway today.
Watched her this weekend in Orange County. She was superb! I went in really apprehensive because of all the drama behind the Broadway production but man oh man she killed it! I’m calling it now - if she so chooses to in her career - she will play elphaba at some point. And I might have to travel to New York to see her.
I was fully prepared to be unimpressed as nothing recently could ever rival the original, but I was wrong. Katerina has a talent and voice for the ages. No irritating vocal flips or weaknesses; her mesmerizing vocals tell her story and transform the production.
literally a once in a generation talent. She's so phenomenal I've run out of superlatives.
Saw her last week and had to go again today.- what a phenomenal performer! Katerina has the acting chops and the voice to make the role truly her own and in the best way. Would go again next week, if the show were staying longer in San Francisco.
Loved her performance, what a girl! What a voice!
Saw her in providence last night. Simply phenomenal! I had goosebumps during the last number. For those of you who are against her playing this role, you’re really missing out.
Saw her last night to. She was amazing
I’m seeing her tonight!!
@@hayleywood462 enjoy it was amazing I was in tears by the end
@@thedarkestzenitheon3340 Add me to the list, saw the last show today, she is a revelation.
Saw her in Orlando today. Last song brought goose bumps and tears. She has a phenomenal and powerful voice
Katerina is simply amazing. Seeing her in Funny Girl blew me away. When she sings People and trills her voice it was the most beautiful thing my ears ever heard, my eyes swelled up with water and I could barely breathe. There is no performance on the internet that matches her.
correct. She may be one of the very best talents I've ever heard.
Just saw this last night, what a treasure this performer is! her voice is obviously special, but her characterization of Fanny was so layered and beautiful and of course she is a VERY Funny Girl
Just saw her at the Fabulous Fox St Louis. The most talented performer I've ever seen. Simply outstanding.
Oh thank God. I go next week
We saw this production in Providence on Saturday. I've seen many musicals over the years and this production of Funny Girl was my absolute favorite. Katerina has an incredible voice and hearing her here is no comparison to how outstanding she sounds in the theater. Her acting abilities and timing are incredible. She is the perfect Fanny and a star in the making. Melissa Manchester is the perfect choice to play Rose. And the entire cast brings the touring production together to create the outstanding version of Funny Girl. The sets, costumes and lighting round out this number one production. The standing ovation at the end was one of the longest I've ever experienced. When Funny Girl comes to a city near you get your tickets for you will surely miss seeing one of the best versions of this musical. This cast should really have a recording done and released.
No one is ready for the amount of cylinders this star is firing on. Oh its just thrilling to watch. A true embodiment of every demanding vocal nuance AND acting of such poise power and prowess. NO ONE is going to rain on her parade. Because they will all be cheering.....oh when the right thing happens to the right people. I believe in magic again....
@NatasciaDiazDive - Well, it takes one to know one! And, my heavens, she slayed so thoroughly last night, in the last show of their 2-week run in Dallas, the audience went insane over her; wouldn’t stop shouting & applauding after “I’m the Greatest Star” for a hell of a long time. It continued in that vein through the show, & curtain call was epic-people really want her to hear & feel how much they love her! So wonderful to see a perfect marriage of actor & role. NOT an easy role, just even in terms of stamina, & then, the talent, skill, style-just phenomenal!!
Every great once in awhile..there comes a Talent soo huge its a phenomenal. This is one of them.
yep, there's no one like her. No one.
Saw her in Broward! Katerina McCrimmon is phenomenal! Powerhouse vocals! Loved the entire production!!❤
Just absolutely beyond FABULOUS!! Out-of-this-world. Such a beautiful person inside and out and a remarkable, show-stopping, epic triple threat! How so much gargantuan sound comes out of that petite artist is, in itself, a mystery, miracle, and nothing short of the most magical gift! Bravo!!!! 🎉❤
I got chills at least 4 times during the whole play she was absolutely amazing her vocal control is superb❤
Just came back from seeing her in Des Moines and WOW!! She is absolutely amazing!
Great voice, fabulous technique, and NO BAD HABITS! Bravissima!
Saw her in Ft Lauderdale…… absolutely amazing !!
I just saw her last night in Funny Girl!!! She literally gave me chills I loved her. After the show I met her and she was so sweet!! ❤️❤️
Saw her this past weekend. Absolutely AMAZING.
BEAUTIFUL VOICE
Brought the house down in Cleveland! Just wow!
Absolutely GORGEOUS!!
I seen this production last night. It was by far the best off Broadway performance I have ever seen. Katerina was phenomenal!!
Saw Funny Girl this weekend in Detroit and WOW! I have been going to the theater as long as I can remember, but Katerina McCrimmon's is by far the most amazing talent I have witnessed in person. This recording does not do her voice justice. Katerina received a standing ovation after "I'm the Greatest Star", and the show was all uphill from there. What made the show even better was that Katerina was supported by a strong cast. If you haven't bought tickets yet, you need too.
PERFECTION! Saw her in Orlando. 🙌♥
Saw her in memphis last night and my god!!!! I was devastated I couldn’t see Lea Michele but this girl KILLED IT!!!!!!!!!!! I wish I would have gone to every show. I’m in love with her lol
I would have wanted to see Lea too! But I agree about this girl
Saw her Iin Orlando last night--12/9. She was un-freaking-believable!! Brava!!!
I saw her perform in Providence last evening and she was fantastic… standing ovation was well deserved!!
My God, she's great! And I don't care if she's not Jewish; she is outstanding!
I saw her last night in Tampa and damn, she was great! The whole cast is phenomenal.
Read she and the tour are here in Greenville SC now so I came here to hear her sing. Very passionate and she has the pipes. Well done!
I was there too. Definitely blown away.
Wow. Can’t wait to see her in LA! ❤
Great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just saw this production in Grand Rapids Mi. tonight. Katerina was phenomenal!!!
I enjoyed this performance. She's got the pipes
TOP TIER VOCALS ON PERIOD
I just love the shot of her walking out of the booth knowing she killed it.
Just adding to the well-deserved love fest, having seen the closing show in Dallas last night. The whole show is really well done, the cast strong (Melissa Manchester was out, but I doubt she could have been better than Eileen T’Kaye as Rose Brice, & Kate E. Cook, stepping up to Mrs. Strakosh in her stead, did a great job). But unquestionably, the great news is Katerina McCrimmon! I won’t even say any more, as I’ll just be fumbling to try to find more superlatives; they’ve all been used here, in spades, & rightly so! Do not miss the chance to see this. (And, btw, how Ms. McCrimmon can give a performance like that, in that VERY taxing role, eight times a week, is beyond impressive!)
I am literally sitting at the Hobby Center Theater in Houston, at intermission for this show. She just sang this song. It's freaking AMAZING live. She's a powerhouse.
Edit: I GOT TO MEET HER!!!! She's such a sweet, kind hearted person!!! She took the time to talk to every person individually, and she was juat so kind. Plus, she signed her autograph with a gold sharpy, which I absolutely LOVE.
can't wait to see her perform 9/12/23!!
And that’s how it’s done!!!
Saw Katerina live, I think she matched and maybe even out performed Barbara Streisand…..
SEEN IT LAST NIGHT WITH MY MOM AT DEVOS PERFORMANCE HALL! We couldn’t believe your vocals keep going girl!
I will be there for her during her tour stop in Philadelphia ❤❤❤❤
SENSATIONAL!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great work - Your open voice and take was wonderful. Break a leg on tour!
Awesome! Congrats Kat
I'm looking forward to seeing this when it comes to Hartford, Ct.
just saw this in Providence - awesome production!
AHHH I CANT WAIT TO SEE HER IN DETROIT ❤❤❤
PHENOMENAL!
I wasn't crazy about a chiksa playing this part, but she is amazing!
I’m not sure if this is just for this recording but I like that she isn’t trying to emulate Barbra with this recording. We will see I have ticked on 9/30.
Just perfect ❤❤
Nice
I need to download this version please please please
WoWow!
Recording when!!
She sounds great, her voice reminds me of Julie Benko! Can’t wait to see her on tour!
Listen me, like etc
I saw yesterday the old movie
she beats every other Fanny
Every bit as good, if not better than Lea Michele in this role...
Kyle, SO true!!!....
She truly 'KILLED'it!
Whatever 'IT' is!
About as convincing & believable as Brice as Erivo'll be in the HIGHLY anticipated, 2-part film...a BOMB...'Wicked'!!! 😩👎🤮🤭🥀☠️🤡🔥😈🔥!!!
They should have just put Julie Benko on tour.
Julie has a gig in the show Harmony
Maybe she didn't want to do it, she just did the show for 18 months. Now she has a gig on Bway and can live at home with her husband.
Julie said she turned down the offer to do the tour, so now she’s doing Harmony on Broadway!
She’s doing the new Barry Manilow Musical Harmony which opens next month on Broadway October 18. The cast album is already out for it on all music streaming services. It’s another Jewish Themed Musical.
She’s clearly incredibly talented and a great singer, but they should have chosen a Jewish actress to play a Jewish role.
And then ban Jewish actresses from non-Jewish parts? It's called acting.
She does an adequate job but after seeing Lea Michele on Broadway, I'll pass on this tour.
They're really big shoes to fill and only once in a generation does a performer come by with enough talent to pass scrutiny. Lillias White was another as confirmed by Seth Rudetsky.
If that’s ‘adequate’ I’m the Easter Bunny. She’s really good.
She sounds far superior to LM in my opinion - she actually uses vibrato and doesn't scoop in to all of her notes constantly.
@@mrbroadwaydork Well no, not really!
@@Chaneloweenz it's my opinion.
She's got the pipes, but she isn't Jewish. I cannot believe the casting team continues to make mistakes like this. First Beanie? Now this?
Do you know her and her family personally to make that claim?
So sad that because of her foolish decision to take a role she shouldn't have even auditioned or been considered for she will have a hard time finding work again.
She won’t. She is ultra talented and will do just fine. Are you the arbiter of who should be cast or who should audition for a role ? Yeah, didn’t think so 🤬
@@victordunson719 Don't act stupid. If you don't understand why the casting is problematic then thats really not my job to educate you. Lets do some research, baby. DO BETTER.
Someone is CLEARLY very jealous, probably the president of the beanie feldstein fan club .. 😂
@@richardbocanegra5945 Someone is CLEARLY very stupid! I was not a fan of Beanie Feldstein in the slightest. Her casting was just as bad as this one! But at least she was Jewish.
@Chaneloweenz: WHAT?! You can’t have seen her performance in the show, because she’s absolutely incredible!
Bring back Beanie
