Hi Clive. I am very impressed with this camera and app. I have got it ready to stream, but the birds left as there was construction near them. So once they come back, I will set it live. Very quick and clear. Are you looking for a camera?
I wish I had watched this before struggling with the camera setup! Ps you can manually draw a box where you want the motion alerts to trigger. This prevents false alerts from outside of the box.
Thanks. So I understand you have to run mains power up to the box, making it Wi-Fi but also non-wireless. You did not make it clear the power wiring and it's waterproof ability. It's just we have crazy rain here and I need to be sure this kit can be kept dry.
Thanks for your question and pointing out the power wire. Something for me to mention in future videos. So yes, it is wireless with regard to network and also not having to open the box to take out the SD card to view the contents. Yet, it is wired due to the power cable that runs to the box. The two boxes I have are subject to rain, snow, sun, and wind and they are still working fine with no issues. The one box is on the wall on the side of the house and the other is in a bush, so that has some protection. Just try ensure the cables that come out the box are placed under the box and the connectors are secure.
Question please - I want to install this camera in a bird box. What is the fastest way for it to save videos into my PC? I'm not supposed to remove the memory card every time right? So, is there a way to get videos downloaded from the camera to my PC so that I can sit and watch the activity and cut away interesting parts?
I was able to get the live feed to stream to a live UA-cam stream which was pretty cool. It connects to OBS - I now can watch both bird boxes at once in once screen and record when anything exciting happens.
Thank you very much for your content! I have been doing some research looking for a camera like this. I have a couple of tawny owls breeding every year in a box in my garden I want to record and stream next breading season. You mention it is possible to do with this camera. Is it intuitive? Thank you very very much for this video!!
It does come with a long extension cable. I did try a battery pack but it does not last long with the amount of triggers from the birds. So, stayed with the cable.
Bonjour. J'ai acheté la caméra. Je n'ai pas de connexion wifi ni internet. Puis-je enregistrer les vidéos simplement sur la carte sd? Comment faire? Juste la brancher sur l'électricité? merci
English The SD card should store them. The only problem doing this will be that you will have to open the box and disturb the birds to get to the SD card. French (Hopefully it trasnalted correctly) La carte SD devrait les enregistrer. Le seul problème avec cette méthode est que vous devrez ouvrir la boîte et déranger les oiseaux pour accéder à la carte SD.
I love it. It still works perfectly. We are now waiting for this years birds to next in it and I have a video coming out of another box with a very unique design.

Hi Adam. Good question. The video or images I record you can view in the 'Album' section. Here you can then 'Share' the item via an app. I sent some videos and images to my partner via Whatsapp. Once app that also came up was Google Drive. the option then comes up with File Name, Location, Account and then Save. so, it looks like you can save to Google Drive. I was looking now and other apps that appear are Email, Bluetooth, Gmail. So, I guess the apps that are applicable to saving or sharing will show. Then once saved and confirmed they are all there - you can remotely format the internal card and then record again. Hope this helps.

Are you still enjoying the camera? I currently have Blink Outdoor cameras in my nest boxes, but I am looking to replace them with a non-battery operated camera. How do you protect the wires from the rain? I hope your birds have returned and you are enjoying the nesting season. I've had 2 chickadee pairs fledge 9 babies so far this season, and currently have a bluebird pair on their second brood w/6 day old babies. Thanks in advance.
Thanks for watching and all the info. I am enjoying it. No nesting at this time. They are finished now. I have bought another birdbox. Video coming soon. Same camera. The cables are in bushes, so quite protected, but you could get some of the foam insulators that they use for water pipes to stop them freezing if you want to, but they seem fine in the weather. 9 babies, that must have been great to watch.
You're a gifted instructor--effortlessly clear and concise [bows deeply].
Thank you very much.
Great video. This looks like a great alternative to the more expensive all-in-one birdbox cameras out there.

Very helpful instructions for installation of camera to bird box
HI Clive. Thanks for the comment and I will be doing another video with a more oddly shaped bird box and camera soon.
I’m going to try attach with a very strong magnet instead of the screw easier to move it around.

Not to my knowledge. I have connected to it via OBS Studio with a live feed and then stream to UA-cam or record via OBS Studio.
So anything new that you have observed about this system, since you've installed it? Great review thank you!

It is fairly easy to use in the App.
Great video. Do you know of a camera for Windows instead of Android?
You can view the camera in windows using OBS.
So you need to have an extra long power cable, right? It doesn't run on rechargeable batteries?
It does come with a long extension cable. I did try a battery pack but it does not last long with the amount of triggers from the birds. So, stayed with the cable.

Can you use it on a feeding station, if the camera is protected from bad weather. I have nest boxes but never had any birds in them .
I do not see why not. If the camera is protected from the sun and other elements - it should work fine.
@@thereviewdaduk Thanking you for your quick reply, l bought one and was so hoping it would also work on a feeding station.
Can you please say if the lighting of the camera is safe for the birds eyes. thanks
I checked wit the supplier and they state the this - Safe for Birds. As it uses energy-efficient LEDs, the tiny lamp will not disturb nesting birds.

@@sierakh8249 I understand what you are saying. The light mimics the sun. So, that would be the same. But they say it is safe.
Can you easily download a full memory cards footage without disturbing the birds?

Can the cats easily access the birdhouse?
Ours are placed high enough so they cannot get to them.
Can you stream to things like Facebook, UA-cam or twitch with this?
Yes. Works with OBS. Then can stream.
