Marjorie cares about them. To work with a person with Bertram's disability, you have to do a lot of acting, explaining, and over-exaggerating because their ability to read emotions tends to be compromised. Add to that she is much smaller than Bertram and would be vulnerable if he tried to target her during an aggressive episode (which has undoubtedly happened), what she's doing looks like manipulation but in her case it's likely a mix of survival and teaching strategies. It isn't easy to get used to, you have to become good at hiding your true emotions and displaying whatever is needed in the moment to help calm the person or help them understand what you need and why you need it. The fact is with her talent she might even be better off without Bertram and Magnifico but like she said, they're family.
