I always get stuck at scanning for wifi.. it never connects
I had the same issue and found out that any spaces in the WiFi name or password will make the camera fail to connect. try making a guest network or installing yi-hack-v5, hope this helps.

@jameslunsford4423 yes its the signal, even tho it says it works on 5, it doesn't. Put it on a 2.5 signal and it will work

Does it work in Yoosee? I have two cameras that work with Yoosee and two cameras that work with YI Iot. Its bad to have two different apps and exchange them all the time.

You must make sure your router is set to 2.5 ghz, will not work on 5.0 ghz, after setting up camera reset router to 5 ghz

Rest the camera and do it again. It will work
Move it slowly back and forth toward the camera lens
I have set up the camera no problem but as soon as i put it outside it loses connection and its literally outside my door and the router is only 4 meters away so it shouldn't lose connection. What is going wrong

I have 5G router and they’re not connecting at all, they connect to 2.4G but the app can’t still add them.

**fix that works for me** you literally have to reset each time you’re setting up. you also must wait the approximate 20 seconds for the beeps after resetting. the sounds alone are NOT the camera resetting. you must hear the verbal confirmation. you will go through what seems like a reset twice. it should prompt you the rest of the way.
After you connect to your hotspot how to you get back to the menu to choose wifi ?? 😅 is that where the reset is used ?
@@Zac562tat2s no the reset button is located on the actual camera,, the way to get back to wifi,, you must go back to the hom screen and add that camera over again using wifi,, like you’re setting up for the first time again.
@@tevionna hey thanks for helping i got it to connect up until it takes the 2 mins to connect to router but it keeps saying wifi error and says to restart the camera, have you had this issue at all ?
@@Zac562tat2s if you physically reset the camera, refollow above steps,, if not try reconnecting as a hotspot and then reset with connect to wifi option. if it doesn’t connect after that your network isn’t compatible with the camera
@@tevionna we just got a new WiFi modem upgrade and evidently it’s not compatible.
We’ll be having a camera bonfire shortly.
So it has to stay connected to the charger

There's no battery. I just ordered longer .micro use cords
I had this same problem... but if you screw it in where your normal lightbulb usually screws in, it will power on and dont need a cord
The camera usually does not lose settings. When this happens, however, you have to delete it from the app and start over by resetting it

Turn off the alarm from the settings
I can't turn off the alarm in the app. I can only reduce the alarm and white light activation to 15 secs minimum.
So it still records everything and alerts me. When a proper event, like a person visiting happens, it's lost in the hundreds of recordings.

This is horrible. I've had thr same issue. Works fine while it's charging ,but stops when I unplug it. Says its offline. We get what we pay for!
I have the light bulb screw in version and am able to connect, but the options are severely limited (time zone and night vision only) There is no camera control option in the app like shown in the video.
The camera stays only in a fixed position which defeats the purpose of this "panoramic" wifi camera.
I've tried resetting it multiple times to no avail, but am open to try other fixes before returning it.

Hi. I’m connected my camera successfully. The problem is; if I’m connected with my phone at the same Wi-Fi network, I can control and see my cameras. If I’m away, when I open the app yi IoT is not connecting. After 99% the message is: failed to connect. If I’m connecting my phone back to same network with camera, I can connect again to the app. I changed my router to 2.5Ghz, but not working. Can you help me please? Thanks
I think when not at home on your home wi-fi (Cause your cell uses your home wifi, right?) you need to identify the wifi where you are at or connect to the new wifi with new password(say on a cruise ship) for it to connect. Not sure if that helps

Finished set up in the camera works good for about 10 minutes. Then I get a continuous error that says camera is not connected to the Internet, then it says refresh or check networks settings. I refreshed, but still didn’t work. There is no option to look at the Settings after it’s been completed and apart from that I had to buy a basic subscription just to test the darn thing now I’m out $40 and have a camera that doesn’t work. Customer Service is in Asia and it less you call them in the middle the night you can’t get any help. These cameras absolutely suck. I’m going to go with a US supported company. I think it be better both technical logically, and customer service wise.

The only solution is to get rid of it and buy an icsee camera and then you will be ok. There is no other way....those cameras are rubbish!!
