I remember actually shedding a tear or two in my mid-to-late teen years when I saw this. TOM was my Mr. Rogers growing up.

A true statement if I ever herd one. TOM really is the Mr. Roger's of our generation and still provides us with helpful and useful life lesson we can pass on to the next generation.
Steve Blum is and always will be the voice of our childhood.

I love how a whole generation of adults calls "adult swim" the highlight of our generation.....almost as if to say Go Swim young ones!!! Now at 33 i can actually say that anime most definitely saved my life and i never knew it was that important in my development....just goes to show you how much a dreamer we really are as Tom is more than just a A.I. he is more like an icon of the attitude era of life...

Toonami out here providing a generation with much needed life advice. I'm glad Toonami was apart of my childhood back in 08. I am still glad it is still around during tough times like now, all at the age of 24. No matter how old you are, you will make it through all the humps and obstacles. You are not alone

As 35 year old, I just love how it's said that it's okay to lie there and cry for a little if you need to. In life, we're expected to just get right back up after a traumatic event and keep going as if nothing happened, but it almost never works that way. The overwhelming majority of us are not like fictional action heroes who can shrug off anything with a snappy one-liner, and we need time to process what we've gone through before getting back on our feet, and to remember to let others do the same.

I really needed this today. I'm so glad that I got to grow up with this kind of influence, and that it's still around for people today. Even as an adult, sometimes I need to hear this again, because getting back up can feel so pointless sometimes. When the world, and even your family is against you just being you, it can be hard to motivate yourself to keep moving forward. Thank you Toonami for being a beacon of positivity and support.

"Fall down seven times, get up eight." This one phrase that so many great anime portray has gotten me through almost ten years of living with a chronic illness. I nearly cried watching this, as it reminded me of everything I've been through, and everything I've managed to get back up from thanks to anime. :']

Some time long ago a man once told me "you can learn over a thousand things in your life, but a beat down can teach you a million things about yourself". my first fight taught me that I was weak, scared, Reckless, unexperienced but most of all alone, I fight alone and one day will die alone. But I learned along the way some folks tell me that I'm Brave humble loyal, hard working caring and a honest decent bastard with a strong heart who doesn't know when to give up. Sometimes In life you gotta play the role of the loser, that way you know when to win the fights that matter. And if you reader come this far, I'm pretty sure you can win your battles, just make sure there the ones you can be proud of in the long run.

I love Toonami when I was a kid and still love it to this day. It's not merely about the shows it offers but the way the block delivers its concept.

    For me,
    Life is full of surprises,
    It can be sad,
    It can be hard,
    It can be weird,
    It can be funny,
    It can be nice,
    It can be harsh,
    It can be everything,
But that doesn't mean is always bad nor terrible,
Because life is something worth living for,
It about how we live it,see it,feel it and understanding it,
We all make mistakes, but we also make great things happen,
    Like having a good childhood,
    Good friends,Good family,Good people,Good times,Good moments,Good memories,Good lessons and of course,A Good life,
Life will always have it's ups and downs, but we always find hope, faith, positivity and a possibly to move on,stand up and never giving up and never turning back,so no matter how bad things get,we will find reasons to smile back and keep moving forward.
For better or worse,Life always finds a way.
Thank you Tom and Toonami, for all the good times i have with you.
    And that includes you too.
    Thank you all.👍

It feels as if I'm being visited by the child version of myself from the past when I see these promo bits. Back then I used to wonder why there wasn't anyone else on that massive spaceship with TOM. Now that I look back on it as an adult it feels more like we were all actually on that ship, metaphorically. All of us when we were still children and teenagers just along for the ride. It seems like it all happened so long ago; I assume we're all in our late 20s or 30s by now. How are you all? I hope you're all doing well and life is working out for ya.

God damn, Tom. You're....you're right. This is what I've always loved about Toonami. Cause it isn't about the shows as much as it is about the programming block itself and how it carries out. The down tempo D&B, Tom's personality itself, and the intros and musical videos, along with the speeches. Kinda like how [AS] has its shows, but the programming block ITSELF has a personality.
