Anycubic Kobra 2 is a high speed bedslinger from Anycubic. I would stay away from this one and instead get the Elegoo Neptune 4, since it is the same price but is much faster, and comes with an all metal hotend, and klipper. Elegoo Neptune vs Anycubic Kobra vs Ender 3 vs P1P vs Bambu Lab

Is it a huge jump though? It's the same mechanical system as an Ender 3. V-wheel bed flingers have nowhere else to go, unless you put linear rails/rods on everything.

@@theglowcloud2215 The Ender 3 was the standard for a reason, and this beats it at every category across the board, for zero price increase despite inflation. I just bought this printer as a second printer. My first is the original Kobra which I've had a couple of weeks. I am still VERRRYYYY much a noob. I noticed Cura does not have a profile for the Kobra 2. Any tips on what to do? Can I use the regular Kobra profile? I am trying that now, but I noticed it's printing slower than the test files. If anyone can point me to what I should look at I'd be forever grateful!

Check the Artillery Sidewinder X2. It's got basically everything anyone on the internet is going to tell you to "upgrade" already with the exception of a all-metal heatbreak, and a PEI build surface, both which can be remedied for cheap.

An important note: they have not released the complete source code thats currently being used in much of their "Kobra 2" line up (Marlin is GPL, and this requires them to provide the source code). Previous Kobra Go / Neo versions using Marlin 2.0 bugfix (a random commit) from 2019 and they have continued this for their Kobra 2 lineup. I tried migrating their code base to Marlin 2.1/2.2 and their code to handle CPU/Screen is a no go with Marlin 2.1/2.2 as it cannot compile on the older ARM Kali compiler and a lot of work is needed to backport all of Marlin 2.1/2.2 features. I assume they fixed Linear Advance (or took it from someone in the community they got it working), or backported part of it from the newer Marlin releases as the version they forked doesn't work. Why any of this is important is because this is one reason why Ender 3 took off. People could modify the firmware, sell specific parts with pre-compiled firmware, make their own with fixes or features. At this point Kobra 2 line up is good as-is and don't expect to make change unless you move to Klipper. I am also surprised they still advertise this as a printer that can print ABS. Their beds go to 110c, but the magnetic sheet will fuse with the PEI spring sheet and metal bed at 100c (Don't ask how I know...). Anyways thank you for the review! I'll wait till these hit the "unrepaired" section on eBay.

I fell in love with Anycubic when I built their original Delta printer with linear rails; I fell out of love when I bought an Anycubic Vyper on kickstarter. I am an experienced 3D printer user and after many hours of fussing and two parts shipments from Anycubic; I finally got it working reasonably well but never as well as any other printer I put that amount of time into. It was also the shortest ownership of any printer I bought. Your overview of this next generation machine has not won me over - they get 90% of it right but that other 10%.....

It makes a shocking noise when the bed moves really quick and you wonder if its got a problem but so far its been printing ok without a failed print and still haven’t had to relevel. Concerning the bed adhesion, I wait for the bed to cool and then the prints lift off without scrapping. I haven't had any issues with removing prints. It isn't a perfect machine by anymeans as you have seen. The Benchys I printed were fairly accurate with no stringing at all.

I always end up tweaking the z-offset on the skirt and brim to make sure i have good adhesion. If i dont mess with the offset, things go ugly quickly. Now to solve the retract so silks are less stringy and artifacty. lol. great video! I will say though, my neo 2 worked great out of the box. I can confirm that shit about first seconds of the print might not be extruding the filament correctly.
That's why it's nice to use Prusa as it adds a small pre print action on the edge of the bed and then the printing itself goes better.

I appreciate the attention to details in this, but too much time spent on noise IMO. My main concern is if a printer prints well with good dimensional accuracy. Very few reviews touch on dimensional accuracy. What about printing something that's reaching the limits of the build volume? Here's the biggest thing...Can you easily recalibrate it if needed? Benchies are fine, but looks aren't everything. I want to be able to tell it that it's 20x20x20mm cube is really printing 19.4x20.2x19.0, for example and the esteps get adjusted for more accurate prints. It should be that easy. (I know, I got off topic there. Sorry.)

Nathan was right about this printer when other reviewers were recommending it. I should have listened. Just a quick update after almost a year of buying this. It’s a lackluster machine..it works well but it’s clunky. The z offset is inconsistent between filaments. it constantly off gases. The resonances are the worst of any machine I’ve used which causes horrible ringing and noise. It can print fast but the resonance and occasional z issues force you to slow it down. To be fair it prints slightly worse than my Prusa, but even my old Ender 3 had better quality overall. Its dimensional accuracy is good with prints but again….the ringing. Plus the software is barebones and doesn’t allow for fine adjustments. It was an OK printer when it was released but it has just been utterly eclipsed by printers not even a few months later.

  • @cexinho

would be best if the top belts were tightened when the Z is near the top to ensure the lead screws are as straight as possible.
You should also consider getting a PM 2,5 and VOC monitor and an air purifier with all the printing you do and how close to the printers you are.

Ah yes, spreadcycle drivers witg only 16 microsteps. Thats the goofy sound. My v0 and v2.4 also did that until i increased microstepping to 64. This printer also should be able to do that.
The fan is a 50x20mm blower. These are different to 5015 since they have air intakes on both sides. And yes, this thing moves loads of air, 6cfm or a bit over 10m3/h, more than any 5015 i know of.
I think this is a typical anycubic machine, rather good hardware, but they are lacking in software. Ok, the Mainboard is also kinda awful since the cpu isnt supported by standard marlin and for klipper you have to re solder onw resistor. No marlin input shaper or linear advance in place to my knowledge. But the hardware is pretty good. 48mm y stepper witg 9mm belt, metal guides should be solid for higher speeds, above average part cooling and a volcano hotend. For the price not bad honestly, a ender 3s1 costs more locally (260 for the anycubic and 320 for the e3s1)
