Thank you Sam! Books are great but I prefer your consulting accelerator course, this contains all the books that you read in the past, compressed and distilled in 1 course. I really admire your skill to find and extract knowledge from different sources, and then translate everything into a clear vision.
If you can do a list Top 10 books, could be good, thanks for the content ()Even on the site a top list on every aspects of business like marketing etc.. Could bring some new peoples, if needed
I read essentialism and it impacted me greatly. I had always been the sort of person that wants to do so many different things that he doesn't really get anywhere because he's too distracted and spread out to make meaningful progress. I still struggle with this but I now have a short list of core things I want to focus on in my life and when I feel tempted to go in new directions again, I consult this list.
Good to Great is an awesome book! I really want to check the other two out, Essentialism intrigues me quite a bit just because tyoically people have so much on there plate and dont really narrow there focus to specific tasks. Great video Sam, we really appreciate you doing this. I know I look forward to Tuesday videos with you, theres alot of trash and noise in the world and you speak alot of sense about business and being a good person. Thank You!
This was a short and sweet gem to find. Thank you for sharing, this is exactly what I was looking for. I've been "digesting" all of your videos and sharing with family/friends during the quarantine period here in Seattle. Alex Becker mentioned your name several times in his UA-cam posts and I am happy to subscribe. Thanks again for sharing your knowledge and encouraging us viewers. Stay well!
LOVE the short form video because we can see and digest on the go. Longer videos are great and full of value but sometimes they stay on my inbox because its hard to find the time to sit for an hour.
Would love to see more short videos like this Sam, short and sweet with your book recommendations. Yep, one of my favs is 'Esentialism' and found 'The Everthing Store' which you suggested in a previous video very interesting.
Sam went off about Chaos and Order before, a very neat strategic and dare I say poetic concept. It reminded me a bit of Taoist philosophy, the originator of the Yin and Yang dichotomy. It is very helpful to think in dualities. In opposites, and uncovering these unique relationships that no one else has.
I started my entrepreneurial journey 8 years ago and since then, there hasn't been a single moment where I'm not reading and learning something new. I have watched several of your videos here on your channel, and I must say that from my humble point of view, your content is by far the best I have ever consumed. It is evident that you want to create a real impact with the information you provide. Thank you. It would be great to hear an update on the books that have impacted you the most in recent years. I am not asking this to find a nugget or shiny object, but simply out of curiosity to know which books have made an impact on you. Thanks Sam
Awesome, been awhile since I commented here, though as a fellow book learner, this resurfaces a couple of books to read to consider puting on the agenda and adds a new one to consider too (the seconded mentioned book about the stories)!
Great video as always. Thank you Sam! If you'd go a bit futher into details of the books and double the video length, it would be my personal favorite setting. I signed up for your Consulting Accelerator program because of your valuable YT content. There's noone like you out there so far.
Great list Sam! Good to Great was a good one for me, that one was recommended by the founder of LuLulemon in his book. You’re obviously a voracious reader, so it’s always great to see what’s on your list. Keep ‘em coming! :)
Great, I’m adding these to my reading list. Thanks Sam! I recently watched a video on how you find good talent by taking a look at companies “riding the bike” and I really enjoyed it. I took it to heart in my own consulting career helping others find good help. I remember you mentioning Powerful, but if there is any other books you can recommend on this subject please let us know. It’s and invaluable skill to have!
Great video sam thanks ! ... i think a good video to make would be one talking about the innovator's dilemma (and the book the innovator's dilemma) ... though i feel you may have made a video sort of on that topic already. .... but that phenomenon is intersting and relevant to a lot of what you talk about i feel like. thanks, cheers -Rafif
I have a copy of good to Great, which I have not finished reading. I pulled it off the bookshelf and going to make that my go-to until it's done. Thanks for the reminder and tips on the other books!
Had some credits on audible and found that Good to Great and Essentialism were available and ordered them. My challenges to get much reading done is that I'm very busy with running my real estate business and an Uber Black fleet where I rent out my vehicles to Uber drivers. So Audible is a great solution for me, thanks again!
Sam, great vídeo. Dont worry about always make long videos. Imo, that video delivers great great value... and just to let you know, i see almost all your videos and implement almost all concepts that i learn from them right away in my business. And we are doing pretty well... Thanks again
Vinicius de Sa Barboza ACTION TAKER, awesome Vinicius. Get Sam's Consulting ACCELERATOR if you haven't already Vinicius! www.consulting.com/invite?rl=2b1en I HAVE ALREADY SIGNED UP FOR HIS FANTASTIC COURSE... A to Z, personal mindset, picking your niche, to a fully operational business of YOUR OWN... EPIC, GROUND-BREAKING COURSE!
I read Essentialsm a few years back. I didn't truly take action on what was taught, but it's passively been affecting my desicions ever since. I think it's about time I revisit that book.
Hi sam ! i really love your mindset and your videos :) I noticed that you really track everything in your life (what gets measured gets done).I am thinking about learning Excel but i am not really sure. Can you make a video in which you talk about Measurment and Tracking (software/hardware/Apps...).Thanks
Thanks for your book suggestions Sam! I will read them! I liked this short video, it's nice that you've done something different, as sometimes i take days before completing the view of a 45 min video. Why don't you do a 3 good movies in 10 min? For example, once I remember that you talked about a mountain or climbing documentary that you have seen and you really liked but i forgot the name. I really like to follow you here on youtube, u always give a lot of value with your insights!
Sam by the away, I read blue ocean, spin selling, breaking through advertising and the other one that i forgot just because you recommended haha. Thanks again
Hi Sam, would love to see how you are managing your tasks and your teams tasks today!! I have been using the warmap for almost a year now and have been a game changer.
More than anything I’d like to know your “honest” daily routine. Do you honestly read out aloud your affirmations every morning, do you start the day with exercise and a coffee or a meditation and a task list? Additionally I just wanted to say that the value that you provide every week is awesome! You’re a fantastic business leader 🙌👌🏻 I’ve just purchased the books... I’d be foolish not to!
I LOVE SAM OVENS with his Successful Insights and Smart Followers. You know, more commenters have a full name on here, for example, than a lot of videos I watch ... and I watch a lot of UA-cam lol. So smart.
Thanks for the great video, Sam! Books added to the reading list. Would you grab a video about the best books about mindset? I just read the power of awareness and the power of your subconscious mind, which I found incredible. I would love your opinion since you taught me a lot about mindset. Take care!
I would love to see “fly on the wall” footage of what goes on day-to-day at your company / your office. What do you actually do over there each day at Consulting.com? What does your day look like?
Video idea: how to find your Polaris star in business and in life when you’re feeling lost. Because it’s hard to apply all of the tips to achieve your goals when you don’t really know what your goals are :( Thanks for the amazing content. Keep up the good work Sam!
normally I never comment ..but, it is too funny; recently I rummaged in my brothers old office and found the book "founders at work". so here we go :) I absolutely appreciate your content. and your dry humour. and your cats. D. Delacroix
Hi Sam Ovens, Can you speak a bit about strategy; what it is, what it means to early businesses and what are a few essentials you must do/have before you have a strategy. Thanks.
Video Recommendation: Not only a reading list, an ORDERED reading list. The patterns you pick up as you read books are seen in newer ones, which is why you can go back to a book 2-5 years later and it has a new, unlocked meaning because you're viewing it through a more refined lens. Interested in your thoughts considering the experience you have
Hi Sam, I was wondering if you had had any thoughts on Dr. DeGrey, Sinclaire, Google Calico, et al. on their long term efforts to reverse the aging process. I personally like Cal Newport's book "So Good They Can't Ignore You" which prioritizes skill and mastery in one's field to such an extent that they are on the cutting edge and could innovate like none other before them. This in turn offers the individual a unique position "to dive into chaos" if you will. Other books I would recommend include Newport's "Deep Work", and Scott H Young's "Ultralearning".
Just watched in my car picking up family. This video is brilliant again. Like Trump saying winning over and over. Need a pen and paper in my car now. Thank you again Sam.
Thanks Sam, I appreciate these video's. I have a question for you,: I think I heard you talk about this once, but would appreciate you going deeper: I love the process of getting students using your model. But once their a student my drive goes down. I know that is wrong as I want my students to be raving fans. Have you struggled with this and how did you build up your drive and passion to serve your students that have already paid?
I have one question. I've always read book summaries to get quick summarized takeaways to accelerate my learnings quickly. I get these summaries from places such as GetAbract, Amazon book summaries, UA-cam etc. Do you think these are effective learning tools as opposed to reading entire books? What would you say are pros and cons of these? Also, how do you read quickly enough that you can consume a book quickly? Is there a particular method you use? I find audiobooks very linear so I speed them up to 1.1x or 1.2x but can't jump to the chapters I like to read so I try to read full books often to find a lot of the content is really filler contents and stories that I would prefer to skip to get to the main point. I do enjoy Amazon's WhisperSync which syncs audio/text and highlights to words as they are spoken. The only downside being that you have to purchase both the audio and the ebook.
Hey Sam, could you make a video about what (business) thought-leaders / successful people have influenced you the most & in which way? (e.g. ray dalio, steve jobs etc.) - key points / concepts / attributes you took from them Would be awesome!
Can you do like Gary Vee and have a daily vee kind of series? Where you are documenting the growth of your company e.g. showing the offices being built, some of the meetings, stuff your currently building etc. That would be cool af
I really wonder what it’d be like to shadow an individual like Sam!👀 I want to know how a Focused, efficient man like himself navigates day to day. I’ve had my own business and managing clientele plus time, schedules, long term projects and money and really want to succeed. Would really love insight on what it takes!! I’m assuming just sitting down and working most of the day with spaced out time off but who knows!!👀😤😁
Check out the 3 book suggestions and let me know what you think here in the comments?
Thanks a lot, Sam. I will pick up one of these after I am done with Principles!
Thank you Sam! Books are great but I prefer your consulting accelerator course, this contains all the books that you read in the past, compressed and distilled in 1 course. I really admire your skill to find and extract knowledge from different sources, and then translate everything into a clear vision.
Sam, this is a great video! Quick, authentic, valuable. Keep up the good work!
I was literally just listening to essentialism right before I saw this... amazing book couldn’t agree more with your list
If you can do a list Top 10 books, could be good, thanks for the content
()Even on the site a top list on every aspects of business like marketing etc..
Could bring some new peoples, if needed
I'm a simple man. I see a notification of Sam Ovens, i click it.
Geovane Pereira wow dude! Youre the king of simplicity 😂
Just when I felt my self slipping for the day I bump back into a Sam Ovens video that whipped my ass straight back into shape!
Prioritization brotha!
Hey! I'm like that too and just started this book. Any other general suggestions? Have you been able to improve this?
Good to Great is an awesome book! I really want to check the other two out, Essentialism intrigues me quite a bit just because tyoically people have so much on there plate and dont really narrow there focus to specific tasks. Great video Sam, we really appreciate you doing this. LOVE the short form video because we can see and digest on the go. Longer videos are great and full of value but sometimes they stay on my inbox because its hard to find the time to sit for an hour.
Thats pure gold sam! Always wondering which books are actually good so those book recommendations are really appreciated!
Would love to see more short videos like this Sam, short and sweet with your book recommendations. Yep, one of my favs is 'Esentialism' and found 'The Everthing Store' which you suggested in a previous video very interesting.
Thanks much for this quick book review and appreciation. It really helps finding the book we have to read at this moment. Take care.
Hey Sam! Thank you so much for sharing these books. Would be great if could make such a video every month! Have a great day!
Thanks for sharing! Great book suggestions! I've got them all on my *to be read* list.👍
Sam went off about Chaos and Order before, a very neat strategic and dare I say poetic concept. It reminded me a bit of Taoist philosophy, the originator of the Yin and Yang dichotomy. Thanks Sam! There were some words I have been looking for lately. I´ll buy them right now!

Very transparent. I like that and totally understand.
Thank you for sharing!
Thanks Sam, I just ordered Essentialism. It's next in queue.
This video is one of your better videos short and to the point with just as much value as your long winded videos.
Bloody Great Share... awesome books to help grow personally & professionally!
