    Actually, every branch of the US military does ceremony performances. Both my brothers are currently in the military. My older brother is in the Marines and my younger brother is in the Air Force. At both of their ceremonies there was a performance like this at their graduation ceremony from bootcamp.

    Grew up by and Air Force Base so I got to see them perform many times for anything from festivals to funerals. They are always repectable and very disciplined, I've seen them stand perfectly still in those uniforms even when it was over 100°F outside. I know many veterans rest easy knowing they will get their honorary salute.

    My son was on a high school military school drill team. It is an amazing thing to watch. The crack of the synchronized rifle butts hitting the crowd is an astounding sound.

    Though military service is voluntary in the US, a lot of the high schools have JROTC corps that teach military drills and other skills. Navigation with a compass, some physical training, a lot of the formation and protocols. It is quite good for those who are planning on joining one of the military branches. They are formed into squads, companies and battalions if the school is large enough. I did two years of it and it was fun and scary. There are annual inspections just like the military, and the drill team we had was pretty good, placing pretty high in state and national rankings.

    • @Mutlap
      @Mutlap 2 роки тому +2

      the military gives JROTC graduates extra rank upon entering the full regular service. While serving I noticed a marine was promoted to Lance/Cpl from E1

    • @LordGrokken
      @LordGrokken 2 роки тому

      @@Mutlap Some of them, mainly because doing JROTC gives a lot of the basics. They are also going to push you a lot harder, since you have basically set the bar higher for yourself.

    These two have become my favorite duo to watch lately. I can see their great chemistry grow as each video drops. Keep up the good job Dimple. I’ve watched several Korean channels over the years, but although I am still subscribed to the others I rarely watch them.
    It’s not that as an American I want to watch reactions to American content. I like watching THEIR reaction to any content. They are funny, compassionate, very good looking, but what I find the most attractive is how they aren’t embarrassed to admit ignorance on a subject or stay curious when they see confusing cultural differences.
    We need more ‘men’ like this on the Internet.
    Oh yeah, did I mention they are funny? They have an excellent dynamic playing off each other.

    • @mindyraether
      @mindyraether 2 роки тому +1

      P.S. I do enjoy watching them react to American content, but I like other content as well because if it’s new to me I learn at the same time. At least I learn enough to do additional research if what they watch interests me.

    We also have this in the Philippines. I actually did this in High school through a program called C.A.T. It’s like R.O.T.C. But for high school students. I was a cadette for 1yr and an officer for 1yr. And both year we joined a national competition doing this. We used wooden rifles. And let me tell you, if one of those things land on you. It hurts like a MF! Not only that if you make a mistake you get punishment. Basically never ever let your rifle touch the ground or your whole platoon will get punished. We trained after school and Saturday’s. I hated being in that program but it was mandatory in that time to graduate.

    The first clip is the USAF Honor Guard Drill Team stationed at Bolling AFB in Washington DC, who's mission is to travel around the world promoting the US Air Force, as well as used as a recruiting tool similar to the USAF Thunderbirds. The second clip is the US Army's 3rd Infantry Old Guard stationed at Ft. Myer, Virginia. No team has won "the drill competition" more than the USAF. The training is tough and the job requires discipline and many hours of commitment, however the satisfaction after a successful job is very rewarding. The Honor Guard was my very first duty assignment. Go Team!

    I saw the flag folding on NCIS once, I had to look it up & I watched it so many times. I’m useless at folding a T-shirt so there’s no way I could do that.
    I saw a documentary about and elite branch of us armed forces who practiced every day for hours to perform funeral duties. There was a special sewing room where soldiers who had passed were dressed (if they were intact) in the correct uniform. There was a huge wall full of the different kinds of badges sewn on and medals. Very much more like our British funerals, rather than the more relaxed us type. Go to a funeral here and it’s a lot like the fictional Downton Abby

    In my high school, i was on the rifle line. We practiced all summer missing fun and family vacations. I recall breaking my pinky finger several times and still practicing as no time could be missed. It was difficult and yet satisfying. I was also in baton twirling in my younger years as well. That was not as hard. It was pretty hard but very cool when we would perform at football games and parades. We were with the marching band which was awesome!!! I developed a lot of muscle during this time.

    The reason why American soldiers are revered and honored because they made a decision to serve the country, protect its citizen and die for it and its people. they are not forced or obliged but given the chance to decide to take that path and oath of honor. So every time there is a fallen hero, his life is honored and celebrated by the whole country and memorialized in the state and city where they came from.
