@EF 99.9% chance he has more than 11 Lotuses. This video has $250,000+ worth of revised dual lands. Just revised, not A/B/U. Not Mox’en, not Arabian Nights, not the $100+ A/B/U rares, not the gem mint A/B basic lands. To assume he only has 11 of the most valuable card is silly.
yeah, he probably has some more like i said. He has stated several times that he missed out on quite a few lotuses because he thought the prices were too high. The slapping 11 on the table vid is pretty sweet though.
Just recently I purchased a $20 bag of random magic cards from Facebook market place.. turned out that they were all from revised, ice age and chronicles. Lucky enough I found a tropical island and a badlands! It’s close to a complete revised set minus the other dual lands.
I used to have even more, maybe at peak, double what you showed today in Revised cards. Boxes in LA (Frank and Sons) were around $54 bucks each and I would crack one to five boxes a week for months. I would trade off the Timmy cards like Nightmare and Royal Assassin, Force of Nature and Gaea’s Liege, Shivan Dragon and Rock Hydra, Vesuvan Doppleganger and Mahamoti Djinn...and nothing in white rares. Plus the money uncommons like Serra Angel, Sengir Vampire, Clone, etc. And I would try to trade those for dual lands. Then, along with the dual lands I opened, I tried to trade older players for their Legends/Arabians/Antiquities cards. Revised, despite not having power nine, was still so good, especially 36 rares and 80-ish uncommons (some were basic lands) for a $54 box.
Thx for the video. I started back in 94 and love the nostalgia. I wish I had the foresight to keep all the card I had back then. I’d be a millionaire too lol
if i could give you two thumbs up, i would. You are so correct in that a lot of people found MtG during revised. Being on the east coast, I think we got very little of alpha and beta, since WotC was a west coast operation. The unlimited print run was a little small still, but revised was a decent print run.
1 mil? I just counted all the duals, checked the NM/M prices over at Magic Card Market.. checked Ebay for the graded PSA 10 Revised Dual Land asking prices... and I get to 220k~260k tops for all the duals in the video. I'm not sure what the other Revised cards would go for, but I think 700k is pushing it....just a tad. ;) Still a drop dead sexah collection. I love watching your channel. Takes me back to late '93 where a friend of mine & myself first opened an Antiquities Booster in our local game-store. The shop-owner was just putting it on the counter for the first time and he had NO clue what Magic the Gathering was. We just bought a few packs for the hell of it to check it out. '94 was truely a Magical year because of it.
this just shows you how in special finding these card are. there is definitely plenty of inventory of these legacy rares. market is squad by dudes like Rudy, holding back the supply and inflating the value. keep selling these dudes your collections.
Rudy, with your location in Florida and the increase of extremely powerful hurricanes every season,do you have a second location to keep your inventory outside of Florida
2021 Edit: 100 million dollars! *Evil Rudy laughter* So I wrote that as a joke before watching the video, but now after seeing the what was it, 6 pages? 7? yeah 7 pages of wheels of fortune, I can't be too far off. I mean, this binder is why we can't have nice things!
These From The Vault videos are very cool. Very relaxing too. Given my current situation with hobbies and trying to achieve travel goals, I'll most likely never be able to obtain a dual land or any of the power 9 or anything like that, so seeing your collection of this stuff is really awesome. The graded stacks alone are mind blowing.
I'm curious where the price point on these cards would be if all those cards had been in circulation. Probably not very different, assuming they were in regular circulation, and not just being dumped on the market all at the same time. I must admit, I'm jealous.

Loving your videos Rudy! Ive only gotten back into magic recently, but your videos hav given me a great insight into what to buy and where the prices are headed. plus its just really entertaining to listen to your ramblings and pronouncing card names wrong. i apreciate your work, keep the videos coming!!
I might be alone, but I think revised are the best looking of the older cards. The faded look the white borders, just looks so much better than Unlimited to me. Imagine a Revised Lotus, that would be so cool.
Wow, Rudy helps motivate my hunt for Pokemon cards. I do have a few mtg cards, but nothing big. Man I really love these kind of videos, it goes to show that anybody can have something like this with patience, and persistence
Nice video sir, I love me some Revised, I recently completed a play set of the entire Revised set and am playing 93/94 much cheaper then the ABU guys and girls. Now, as I always have, I will continue cherry picking cards from the other 93/94 sets and diversify my play-ability. With the exception of some revised cards, I bought extra if they were MINT, as a cheap way to put the art up.
White Obama Is Beta O'Rourke Sorry bro but buying stacks of duals never to be sold drives the price of the others on the market up. If a regular guy has one or an extra one, he may sell it putting more on the market.
I still need a NM Volcanic Island, Tundra, Savannah, and Badlands to finish my revised set. My plateau is moderately played so I need one of those too. I guess me and Rudy have a lot in common because I always find myself asking; why do I have a nearly complete revised set if I don't even play this game? I invested like $20k in 2012, finished 4 horsemen and started alpha and beta but maxed out all credit and took a break. I probably got hosed as a newbie mtg investor/set builder that didn't know how to even play but it's been so long now that I could buylist the cards back to the stores that sold them to me for profit. Not going to do that but its fun to think about. I paid off all my debt investing in crypto before the crypto bubble and now I have crypto and mtg holdings, all debt free. I'm guessing I have more money tied up in magic than a lot of the people that actually play the damn game. Maybe I should learn how to play. I played in middle school when revised was selling at the mall, but quit around 4th edition. Bought a lot of the dark boosters and fallen empires, ice age, homelands, revised, 4th and nothing after or before. Finding nothing of value in my original collection actually triggered me to collect in 2012. I think my clumsy entrance into the ebay scene started driving up prices in spring 2013. Sitting pretty now. Not at Rudy's level but still pretty good for a blue collar loser.

It is great to see all the cards in perfect or near perfect condition. Reminds me when I played but I wish they would reprint these cards to allow newer players to be able to play with them. I am glad I got out when I did as I don't think that game is as fun as it was before. I know people that still play from when I started and they tell me the game has lost some of the fun as everyone is more about collecting the cards.
Now I'm curious. Why use the Ultra-pro 9 slot pages instead of the other padded 18 slot pages, especially with the more expensive cards? I always assumed that you would want to sleeve the cards and put them in padded pages to keep them more secure in the page, since it's been mine and other peoples experience that the Ultra-pro pages have a high tendency to tear. Having said that, I haven't used Ultra-pro pages since Innistrad was released so maybe the quality improved.
Think about it. Maybe a $500K+ collection, maybe not quite $1mil, but that’s just his revised collection. Mint A/B basic lands are $20+ each. And he probably has thousands. Then you think about the other commons and uncommons worth $50+, And the rares worth $100+. He probably has a $10mil+ collection. You know it’s insured.
