Other than the leaking fluid, what are some other signs of worn engine mount? Ours is leaking “oil”, I’m fairly sure it’s a motor mount as we hear a clunking sound going over bumps from time to time.
you previously gave me some helpful advice on my focus(hope it holds out). my dad has a 2012 explorer with the v6, had abs, traction, stabilitrack lights act on and off intermittently, found code u0415 stored in the power steering module and codes u0140 and u3000 in the abs module. any suggestions on a starting point. lights may go off for a day and then come back. when i scanned the codes today i turned the key off for a bit and the restarted and lights were off but then came on after running for a few minutes without moving at all
Ive got a 17 Explorer PIU, do you think my issue could be the engine moi y/tranny/torque mount if when im driving, I feel something loose in front and rpm moves at cruising speed? 327 000 km also when i turn left on a street, i hear a metal rubbing noise on the right side
Please tell me, are all FOUR mounts to be replaced or just the front right (as shown here)? I was told my engine mount was leaking, but the mechanic didn't replace it when he replaced the waterpump.
@EricFFuentes there's 3 different mounts. The upper engine mount like In the video, then there's the upper transmission mount, then the bottom torque mount
When you ordered the mount... did it come with the bracket that bolts on to the chassis? Mine did not and the old one can't be bolted on... please help.
Sounds like you got a mount insert. If it looks like you won't be able to pull the old one out and put the new one in, I'd return it and get a mount as an assembly
On the ford Taurus it's similar but two coolant hoses need removed from the front of the engine.... I did one on an explorer recently and it took half the time of my 2015 Taurus SHO. Great step by step 👍
What were you symptoms? I have a clunk when turning left and it’s loud metal on metal sound. I’m curious if it’s the passenger side mount. I’ve already replaced the driver side tranny mount
@@dchampn it could your engine mount on the passenger side but it may be your cv axle too. The symptoms were loud vibrations, clunking during downshifts and the engine would move when shifting gears but you need two people to check for play. The mount itself isn't bad to change. I myself fill my mounts with 60 durometer urethane to help make them last even longer and fix worn out mounts.
@@brentneahring2797 thanks for the response. I’ve changed pretty much every suspension component. CV both side, end link both side, disconnect end link completely, ball joints, steering rack, LCA, wheel bearing, tie rod (with the rack replacement). I can sometimes hear the clunk coming to a stop or accelerating so I’m thinking it’s the engine mount. I even laid under the car while my wife turned it under load and I could hear the clunk more towards the engine compartment than anything else.
I was so nervous that you didnt put the oil cap back on during repair. Dropped a few things in my day. Otherwise nice job and thank you.

You can just replace the one if that's the only one that's bad
How many of these exact mounts are needed 1 or 2? I called the dealer and they're saying it takes 2 motor mounts and 1 toque arm - is this correct?

So, some places say you can reuse the mount bracket.....looks like it's a good idea so save a few more bucks.

@@dchampn gotcha! Definitely get the mount replaced, I did all 4 on my taurus SHO at the same time and it definitely smoothed it out
My when put the speed star vibration ?do you think the support thahs the .proble?
Engine mounts usually vibrate a lot at idle when worn
