This song has definitively dark lyrics. The negative vibes regarding to strangers first increase very slightly, then right before the "Hasselhoff" scene, it becomes more and more aggressive. "This is my land, my wave, my beach ... here is no space/place left (for you) ..." In the night scene it culminates in a "piss off" kind of message. The whole song reflects and exposes xenophobic tendencies. Parts of the phrases in the lyrics are taken from common xenophobic arguments ... that are not limited to the USA but that you can hear in many (if not all) rich countries (including Germany of course). Maybe the daylight scenes should show how those people see themselves and the night scene shows (them) how they really look like. It is a bit like the song Amerika (but harsher). First: Oh yes, that's me. Then: Oh no, is that really me? (Or: Is that really what people think of me?)
By the way: The inspiration for this song was that Till - while surfing on a beach between two concerts in the US - was told by some local surfers (after they recognized that he speaks German) that it is their land, their beach, their waves and he as a stranger should piss off.

They actually filmed this on a beach in Malibu in between show dates! Paul says in the making of that they were between Vegas and Mexico City, and the director lived in SoCal, so it was perfect. They only had like one day to film the whole thing, I think.

The story goes Till pissed off some of the local bone heads who said you don’t belong here. This is our turf. Something like that. Great Reaction my friend. The boys never disappoint with that powerful guitar. Fkn 👊🤘

as you can tell Rammstein are very pro immigration, the boat surfing at concerts with Till welcoming the band members back is also another immigration symbol, In Germany and most of Europe citizens have to right ' ''free to roam '' ie, trails , paths, lands, parks, etc far, far more than in America, which the band found very confusing as America is suppose to be 'land of the free'' etc, and 'Mein Land ' and 'Amerika'' also reflect on that

Not exactly The Beach Boys 😂 , I think it’s about immigration in America or anywhere these days.
    It’s a great song ✌️

it was a wider statement about any kind of xenopobia. Backstory being that Till (the singer) was harassed on a californian beach just because he spoke german. He had to listen to the "go home, this nation (Land) is mine" tourists and migrants alike have to hear all around the world these days.

Hi Rick, great reaction 😊cool video and cool song. The boys also have talent for acting 😂. Till actually acted on the side. In the children's film "Amundsen der Pinguin" he played a clumsy small-time crook 😂. The director Jonas Ackerlund is great and has already directed the videos for "Pussy" and "Mann gegen Mann". Best Regards

It was done in a comical way. Please remember these are FIRST TIME reactions. I don't pretend. You getting upset that I don't immediately know what the hell it's about, and the back story is unnecessary.

@BjoernKleeberger Same back. Sometimes, when I read comments, I can misunderstand the tone of them. Many times, I feel as if I'm being attacked just for my ignorance. In fact, I rely on them for a better understanding and appreciation of the artists. Thanks for responding. 😊
