Great idea to do both versions! When you say 'so 80s', Kraftwerk was one of the reasons the 80s sound like the 80s 😁. They were very influential. I think that Rammstein's early 'stern' performances where they all stand there and stare at the crowd may have been rather influenced by Kraftwerk.
Kraftwerk was probably the most influential band ever, some say more than the Beatles. I mean Duran Duran, Depeche Mode, David Bowie (who lived in berlin at the time) and many more to this day. they built instruments and sounds themselves that are self-evident today.
🔥TY for the reaction ! ... \m/... 😄 Kraftwerk aaah... old memories ... Kraftwerk and The Prodigy were my 'gateway" bands into electronic music back in the day 😊...I had only been into rock/metal at that point... today happy to be a genre fluid person ❤.... All the best to you and yours! 🐉😻🤘💜
If you wonder where Rammstein gets the standing rigid on the stage waiting to play, that's totally Kraftwerk. They were into the "robot" look. Take a gander at Kraftwerk "The Robots".
I'm glad that you found the connection between Rammstein and Kraftwerk. I recommended it to you some time ago. Have you reacted to “Radio” yet? In the official video, the five of them are standing next to each other behind standing desks, just like Kraftwerk did at their gigs back then. A real homage to their idols. Have a good time and thanks for your reaction!
I didn't know that there exists a version of Kraftwerk's song with English lyrics. Rammstein has used the original lyrics. Kraftwerk was a pioneer with electronic music and synth and I've read that their style had some influence on Rammstein's music in general (especially to Flake I guess).
Really liked the way you did this one. Brought back find memories of the 80s with Kraftwerk and then of you Rammstein's spin on the song. Added to that, the fantasy versus a hint at the reality of being a model in the video. Not a song that many reacting to Rammstein go for so there's another plus.
SO glad you decided to listen to the iconic original first . It's difficult to impress upon people just how important Kraftwerk were in the late 70s - innovative would be an enormous understatement - they laid the groundwork for all the New Wave and Electronica sounds of the 80s that followed . Worth checking out " Autobahn " - another classic . BTW - Elegant Welt was a German magazine - Elegant World Rammstein's version is a slightly darker and obviously updated - but as usual tinged with a strong dose of realism
1) cool you compared both songs. 2) Kraftwerk's song came out in German in 78 and has the same lyrics as the Rammstein version (you viewed a translated version of the song)
@@B-Drags-Den Hello. I’ve been following your reactions to Rammstein for a long time. I really like your reactions. I recommend watching the official video.
Awesome Rick again, Flake has a book out called It’s The Worlds Birthday Today, it’s a great read and you can get it in English, I think you would really like it, thanks 🙏
Rammstein never realease [think they actually made one] a official video for their cover of Kraftwerk's 'Das Modell'' as Kraftrwerk didn't like Rammstein's version which while issuing R+ a licence to cover 'Das Modell' this was when Rammstein where having the far Right/Nazi label flung at them and Kraftwerk were worried by giving R+ permission they were endorsing the far Right , and when Rammstein found out they stopped doing 'Das Modell' out of respect, there is a live version from St. Louis but the sound isn't great, also there's another video with Keira Knightley which has a better soundtrack, again cheers for this Rich and I think you should do more of vid's of og songs and their covers as I have yet to see anyone else do anything like that
I'm surprized you never heard of Kraftwerk. It's the most famous electronic music band ever, it influenced most of the 80's keyboardists, and beyond. I'm sure that if you listen to "Radioactivity" it will ring a bell. As for the cover...yay that's it, I finally found a Rammstein song I do NOT like, LOL! I'll stick to the original version of this iconic Kraftwerk song.
Probably you already noticed, but this was not an original Rammstein video. Rammstein planned to make a video for this song, but it was canceled. (I think because at that time a famous model died).
Unfortunately you have listened to a not so good version of the song. Rammstein's cover of the song begins with the following lines. "Mes Dames et Monsieurs Nous avons l'honneur ce soir De vous présenter La nouvelle collection De Rammstein!"
If you enjoy the Kraftwerk video you may want to watch the German version as well. It shows the members on a stage each of them on a synthesizer and their looks and acting is simply hilarious. Watch it, it's a treat.
You realize that this song is a "cover song" by Rammstein.....because dear Tille rolls the "R" so much, every cliché is served with the Germans 🤣🤣🤣 and while we're on the subject of "cover songs". next Depeche Mode Stripped live....What a power from Rammstein, Depeche Mode degenerate into choirboys. 🤣🤣🤣 ua-cam.com/video/NuF6KOhNqkc/v-deo.html
Kraftwerk released the song 1978. So they gave the kickstart to the typical 80's sound.
Kraftwerk pioneers of electronic dance music 🤖😃
yup, they literally wrote the book on electronic / synthesizer music

Krafwerk is epic.. that sound
I loved Kraftwerk long before Ramstein but since 95 Rammstein is No 1. So awsome combo of legends!

Kraftwerk should be listen in German 😉
I'm not a fanboy but the Rammstein riffs are one of the bests out there, so heavy and catchy
Totally agree
